Eventhough I'm a hardcore Renegade I see why people think his voice can get annoying, but the only thing that it tells me is that you haven't heard enough of him :D As the others have pointed out Hi Ren is usually the start into the rabbit hole, but this time I would go with Ren X Chinchilla Chalk Outlines to hear him acutally sing
So glad you decided to try another Ren! 😁👍So many to recommend next. Have you heard Hi Ren? It’s got over 25 million views in just over a year - with no radio play or concerts! Also, I definitely recommend you watch his 5 min thank you speech for getting one million subscribers called Defining Success. Best wishes X
Ha! Beck! One of my favorite artists from the 90’s and someone I’ve compared Ren to in their versatility. although Beck wasn’t much of a rapper, he was most definitely schooled in all forms of music. Ren is very much a fan and student of many genres of music. For more on that, I would check out Ren’s now defunct band, The Big Push. Would highly recommend, I shot the sheriff/road to zion/hip hop” as a starting point down that rabbit hole. It’s not my favorite by them, but probably the one that shows just how great they were live and being able to seamlessly mashup songs. link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uSeCuR51rek.html
More like this one? Try out "Illest of Our Time", "Seven Sins", "Sick Boi". Good to see you giving him another listen!! Awesome reaction, subscribing for more Ren ;)
Check out the Tales of Jenny and Screech its a 13 minute trilogy. Also Chalk Outlines the live version by Ren. I seen ur fred again mashup reaction. Yes i was a lil perturbed when u said ud be tired of his voice by the 7th track. But at least u gave him another go. Dont quit. Hes awesome
There are 2 things I love most about Ren. 1) Always expect the unexpected, you never know what you're gonna get. Not only does he do multiple genres, he's a genre bender! 2) How genuine he is. He's the same in his music, interviews, and live streams (he goes live usually after dropping original art, not his retakes). I always recommend new Ren viewers to check out his YT 1 million subscriber speech, helps you understand his overall message. Enjoy your journey, he's worth every moment!
I knew you would change your mind lol. You are in for a joyous and emotional ride. If you think this is a 10/10 you are gonna need some bigger numbers. I would suggest 'Hi Ren' before you go any further as it gives an insight in to why Ren raps/sings about the things he does, plus it's a fucking masterpiece!
Here - for more honest opinions on Ren's art. 🤝😎 I appreciate you coming back to hear/see more from Ren. Maybe watch (even if it's just for you) his video "Defining Success" on 1 Million subs and you'll see what he's all about. New sub from me for you😉 Greetings from Germany🤝👏👍🙋♀️
Every Ren song is different to some extent. You do not get the same person each time. Renegades value that considerably. Ren's rap is not the same as contemporary rap; he allows those of us who historically hate rap to appreciate it to an extent we look at rap differently. But I think his fans enjoy his music simply because he is the most genuine individual we can find in the music scene today! Genuine as in a truly good hearted and amazing person. Ren does not sugar coat anything, especially his idealism. It is refreshing in a world of horrid commoditized music we hear today. You have experienced two very different Ren's so far. You have 79 more to go.
If you’re gonna dive into REN ya need to understand his story. A best friend who ended his own life as a teenager (The song For Joe covers that story). Wrongly diagnosed with various mental illnesses and put on heavy meds for it that ended up really messing up his brain. Then finally being diagnosed with Lyme and has spent the last year in Canada having treatment for the Lyme and to try and get his brain functioning properly again. (Songs like Hi Ren, Chalk Outlines, etc speak on that stuff). He really is a warrior and his story is inspirational to say the least
The female voice is a sample. I knew you would love him. And of course be honest. We got a couple fan-atics, but we basically a bunch of lovers here.❤ you are gonna have so much fun! LOCO is a capella. All the sounds come from his mouth! Animal Flow acoustic version is full of Ren noises that i love and so many songs from the Big Push. Think i already suggested his busking with Sam Tompkins, Earned it/A Man's World/Falling I'm here for it. Subbed.
Great reaction. I hope you enjoy REN. Dont let some of the RENegades scare you off ….. they can be very passionate. Look forward to seeing your channel grow.
I LOVE this song! Love the layers. Amazing lyrics and storytelling as usual. Chorus is 🔥. Video is insanely good. Check out: Seven Sins, Sick Boi, The Tales, Chalk Outlines (live). Great reaction - thank you 💛
👍🏻This is one of 4 tracks on his UK #1 (hip hop/rap) album "Sick Boi" where he didn't write the music himself but only made some minor edits. The female vocals are part of the original instrumental. The album features 18 distinct songs in total plus 1 extra on the deluxe download edition. His earlier albums and EPs are also very different as id the work he did with his (live) rock band The Big Push.
Thank you for taking my suggestion brother. I did forget about the sample of the woman's voice at the end. My apologies for that. But love this song and thanks again! Cheers!!
Listen to REN’s song Loco when you get a chance. I believe every sound you hear made with just Ren’s mouth, from the wrap to the percussion and everything in between, no instruments other than Ren.
Hi, nice reaction. I look forward to seeing other reactions of Ren and others in Ren's talented group of friends. The female vocal is a sample, that's the only other vocal on the song. If you decide to explore Ren's catalogue you'll get a very broad experience. See you at the next one.
Older stuff too…I love Power, Genesis,1990s, Valium, and any busking with The Big Push. The Hunger and Chalk Outlines are fantastic. Next to Tom MacDonald’s, discovering Ren was my favorite rabbit hole!!
Hi Ren is a must, because there's nothing else like it (in spite of obvious influences). The Money Game series is fantastic social commentary. Chalk Outlines (live version, with Chinchilla) for beautiful vocals. The Hunger for straight up rap. Suicide, if you need a good cry. Murderer, because he kills it. (Those last two had me, a nurse, walking around at work singing lyrics about death and murder--super inappropriate! 😂) Animal Flow, if you like dystopian literature. Back On 74/Message In A Bottle retake if you're in the mood to sit in a dim lounge at 3am as an after party winds down. ... That's just a start. There's a Ren for every mood.
I think I be doing Hi Ren next. But I did just do his recent message in a bottle retake, that I’ll probably have up tomorrow. I love a good cry/emotional music but for as long as I’ve been playing and through out my I’d be surrounded by music I think I could count on one hand how many times a song has made me cry. If anything.. music videos get more to me than the song along on an emotional level. Thanks for all the suggestions!
Honesty is the best policy 👍 even if some don't agree.. Most Renegades want real reaction not fake to Ren as he does draw out alot of emotions out of us all so just be you don't change for anyone ❤️✌️ this song is one of my favs but there is so many 😂 Welcome to the World of Ren enjoy it ❤️✌️
I appreciate that you’re continuing down the Ren rabbit hole to figure out why he has such a dedicated fan base. I predict you will soon become a RENegade yourself this way 😂 A suggestion on how to get to know him: Hi Ren -> Sick Boi -> Crutch feat. Bibi -> Chalk Outlines (live version) with Chinchilla -> Seven Sins. And then maybe his 1m subscribers video on defining success. I think this will give you a good picture of Ren as a relatable voice for people with physical and/or mental health issues. It is one of the main reasons he has gathered such a strong and supportive following #NotACult 😉 😂 Another reason is the variety and unpredictability in his catalogue. The above suggestions will also start giving you an idea about his range, but for a deeper understanding, check out the trilogy of tales (there’s a 13 minutes video containing all 3 songs in order and they’re best experienced like that in one go), The Hunger, Illest of Our Time, Humble feat. Eden Nash, Penitence feat. Molly McKinna, and then definitely also check out the band The Big Push. Maybe even go all the way back to Trick the Fox where Ren was around 20. The Ren rabbit hole is wide and deep, but I promise you that the journey is well worth the time. And the RENegades will be here to support you on the way ❤🐰🕳️
welcome to the Ren rabbit hole. buckle up for the ride, subbed. the more you listen, that voice will become an ear worm. trust me. you'll hear the lyrics and music when you wake. most I've been excited about an artist in over 25 years.
New subscriber.... Welcome to the world of Ren. Another Ren fan here of course so I'm biased but.... he is a breath of fresh musical air... I look forward to your journey down the rabbit hole. 'Hi Ren' started it for me... released Dec22. and 💟 from the UK. ps. no auto tune.
There's 4 hip hop tracks that he has an acoustic live versions of Murderer Animal flow Genesis $uicid3/for joe In the murderer acoustic he filmed in LA so threw in LA mcs pronunciations on their recognizabe words
Ren has no Genre - he is like a box of chocolates, you literally have no idea what you gonna get. If you are open to that concept you will love him. I didn't see your original reaction. However, the Fred Again Mashup must be taken in context of the fact that this was a retake of five EDM tracks, done soulfully and with visceral emotion. I hope you enjoy your trip down the rabbit hole. It is deep. Otherwise, no hate, Ren probably isn't for everyone. No artist is.
I saw the first reaction video to Fred Again & knew this was going to happen 😂 welcome to the genre of Ren - all of them. Subscribed for your honesty. Welcome to the Ren rabbit hole
You definitely will say better ane you might have already. I'm behind o your journey. His voice can sound like anyone. Maybe it's great productio but he does so much live
wait. Always start with Hi ren but to not like the Mash up is strange. But hey, I am not a fan of any main stream music so everyone has their own tastes. Yes the Ren community is vicious sometimes. Just ignore and keep trying different music from him. We will keep coming back.
A lot of rens stuff is around his struggle with Limes disease which he really struggled with for years because he was misdiagnosed. Understanding that helps understanding many of his works. Hi Ren is perhaps the best way to come to grips with how good he really is and is a very deep song. But along the lines of what you just watched, try the official lyric video version of Seven Sins
Welcome to the RENaissance! Ren is exceptionally unique and his music reflects that (as well as his incredible musical talent). He is truly an odyssey and you won’t regret diving into this rabbit hole!
Thanks for an excellent reaction! Love that you're taking the time to move through different songs and get a feel for the artist. The sounds of Beck kind of does make me think of Ren, in that there is an honesty and unapologetic joy to the musical exploration and artistry, even if the subject matter isn't always smiles and rainbows.
Hi, thank you for doing Ren .do not let the Ren fans scare you He does not disappoint if you dig deep into all his music and know his story,,, He is a musical genius , and a poet of words ,,, knowing some of his story helps understand his his music better, I love all his music and listen to it all but love his fun, band, busking stuff along with his live performances better but that is me Ren's song LOCO that is all Ren voices, music, instruments .and all … And he did part of it a cappella even and he beatboxes more in Loco personally I love both songs and both are on my playlist he released Loco and Lost Faith about the same time. And there is some similar. of the two songs, Even think the same people did both lyric videos.
Seven sins!! Do the official lyric video . There is another seven sins visual video someone made to his music but it’s not his . Make sure it’s his lyric video. It’s a banger and get ready for a ton of bars .
2:03 this statement baffles me. Why do you talk about how his voice might bother you after several tracks? Why do you not focus your reactions to what your listening to at the time? I love tacos, but i can't imagine thinking "yeah it's good, but what if i had to eat them every day"
Im a HUGE Ren fan, but you have to accept that not everyone enjoys the same music as you. We al have our own tastes, and if you’ve watched his reactions, you can see there’s certain songs he enjoys more than others. Ren caters to any taste.
