Illness is my teacher It broke my smile My bones feel old Here lies the body of Ren. This is a memory of the day he fell into psychosis at 25. He talks about it in the interview with Zach Sang he just did. That was already 6 years into his illness and he still didn't know it was Lyme disease.

You're 100% right, You do you. Anyone who tries to push you to do something, or hates because you have your own freewill isn't worth it anyhow. I always think each to their own, as long as people don't try and aggressively push their view on others, let everyone make their own decisions and treat others with respect, then they're good with me. Well again an amazing reaction you picked that apart like a pro, the reason you're my fave is the fun intelligent way you react with Rens music and it reminds me of how i felt when i found Ren. I've been following Ren for a long time. I purchased a CD from this group busking in Brighton who to be honest I thought were homeless, sorry Ren!. To help out a little you know. Then I listened to them properly, something happened that day and I needed to know more and to this day I listen to Ren and The Big Push daily. Its only the last year I've been able to transverse through the mind of Ren. And it's been a incredible journey. Strangely the year I bumped into Ren was the year I was diagnosed with a rare painful neurological condition. Which has completely disabled me, I'm pretty much bed ridden and as so in this song, has me crawling on the floor most days in unbelievable pain asking why? I'm not sure I believe in fate but it makes me wonder whether that purchase of Rens CD was to introduce me to his music and soul, setting me up to deal with my own journey of hardship with his later music. Apparently there is no cure for me but Rens music helps me understand pain and I still have some hope, however now in my mid 50s I have already had an amazing fulfilled and cultured life which I suppose I where i differ from Ren. so Ren its your time now, go boy! Ren also has had seizures as part of living with undiagnosed Lyme disease for 13 years. He was bedbound for years. Sony dropped him because he was too sick to perform. After cell stem therapy and specialized care in Canada he still has to have IV therapies to function. Undiagnosed Lyme disease has been found in many people diagnosed with dementia, mental illness and chronic pain. It still isn't standard to test for it but it SHOULD be for people with his symptoms.

I feel you on the anxiety inducing seizures. In my quest to figure out why I was going catatonic daily I went from Dr to Dr. (I would crash. Meaning I 2as aware of my surroundings but I was unable to move or speak. My aura was intense sluggishness and extreme fatigue) finally I did a 3 day eeg hospital stay. The nurse did a stress test. I did seize our. I stiffened up and went catatonic. The nurse tried to get my attention. No luck. My family who was there tried. No luck. I stayed like that for half hour at least. To the neurologist surprise my eeg came back negative (meaning no abnormal activity) the video showed I seized plus the nurse confirmed it. The neurologist finally diagnosed me with psychogenic non epileptic seizures. Fancy way of saying when there's too much stress that I can't handle and I'm unable to process it I seize out.

I'm so sorry about your epilepsy. My little sister just started having seizures in her late 20s out of nowhere. Bullshit American Healthcare/ Insurance corporations led to conveyor belt 10 minute appointments and countless pills to "see if this helps" with horrendous side effects for years along with the seizures. All she ended up with was a shoulder shrug and a diagnosis of epilepsy. Completely turned her life upside down. Now she just manages best she can. Still no answers.
