Looks like Sick Boi is #1 in the iTunes hip hop charts this morning, and also #6 in the overall album charts. Music fans who don’t know Ren already will be shocked, and asking “who’s Ren?” They will know soon enough.
It peaked at number 7 in America, which is pretty fkn impressive for an unsigned British dude tbh. The best thing is the overall sales will be pretty high, in a self released/produced album, virtually nothing spent on promotion, very little spent on videos, the profit margin will be high, hes a millionaire off this project in all likelihood, which is good for us because the financial security will give him total creative freedom going forward

I actually compare him a lot to van gogh expecially when im trying to explain him to someone who understands art, its a perfect balance between sadness/depression and hopefulness its just something you have to experience. A very good example of an artist with the same effect on me (soundly nothing alike) is Tamino, its very melancholic sound but with a hopefulness within, very rare to be done well
This is such a fantastic way to open an album for someone who has never heard Ren before. Imagine listening to current rap/hiphop and then opening up this song.
Agree wholeheartedly, thought the same hearing this song, during my first headphones-in-the-dark listen to the full album. The chills of listening to something utterly new. It reminds me of when I first heard Queen, and then Prince.

Welsh is one branch of the Gaelic language family from the Brythonic branch, spoken in Britain prior to the North German incursions around the 6th century. Irish and Scots Gaelic are the other Goidelic branch. Breton is also related to the Brythonic branch. Ren's island of Anglesey was Druid central before the Romans eradicated them.

It is so crazy. Ren didn't even release his best tracks from the album during the hype phase. This is his best song to date. wicked ways is also as good as anything thing else on the album
After his livestream today he told us the meaning of the Welsh and he said it’s a self-eulogy. Also good call on the Awolnation. He said Sail was the biggest inspiration for the orchestration. And yes, he said he specifically put a drill section in there because he said it’s what’s hot in the UK right now and he wanted to acknowledge the modern culture.

listening to the few new songs really showed me how important Ren's videos are to to me. I just felt something was missing while listening to these, even though the songs themselfs were very good.
I'm the opposite. I am enjoying focusing on the depths of the music production without the video taking the audio processing power from my mind. I used to record albums so to me audio is a steak, the video is dessert.
@@shaundisch2020 I get that, for sure. but I cannot imagine anything I'd rather be doing than recording music, even though that's not always possible. I forget who it was when he was asked when he would start making the next album said, "Start? I never stop. Just because I'm not holding nan instrument doesn't mean I'm not making music." It's like that for me. I recorded guitar and bass parts September last year, and just recently got the songs finished in a two week stint. Maybe your next album is just taking a really, really long time to appear?

Idk if anyone had mentioned this yet, but, if you happen to join Ren's Patreon, there is actually a BTS video of Ren creating this track, so he did produce it, whether another mixed it down/mastered it later, that is something I'm not certain of, but he did produce this track himself & it's a sick BTS vid... ✌💙👽

The 666 number is in reference to The beast in Revelations. The number is an Angelic number....It actually means to "refocus" your mind, body, and spirit. Basically to let go of things you can't control. Hope this helps

Oh my god, I thought Lost All Faith will be be the most complex song on the album and my favourite. It doesn't even come close to Seven Sins, which didn't even get a music video.

While the whole album is fire, he absolutely saved the best songs for the release. I think the best way to listen too it is just in track list order. The album’s themes hit so much harder IMO

Welsh is a langauge that is indigenous to the uk unfortunately its only spoken in wales the old bryhonic langauge thats also related to cornish and breton
