Ren had Lyme Disease (sick boi, sick boi, bitten by a tick boi) but it went undiagnosed for a long time. He went years with people telling him he was just mentally ill, but he had an infection that was ravaging his body and his brain, and he lived in the most unimaginable pain for most of a decade before he got properly diagnosed and started getting the right treatments. The past 14 months or so he's been living in Calgary getting experimental treatments to help fix all the damage from the untreated Lyme disease. But he's doing much better now.

I say artist because he is a multifaceted diamond! From singing (all styles) to rapping (bars/flows/schemes for days), Bardcore (story telling) beatbox, makes his own beats, scatting and a multi instrumentalist (guitars, bass, drums, melodica and more). On top of that he is the most beautiful human being inside and out who has been through and continues to go through absolute hell. Ren is 33 from Anglesey, Wales originally but spent most his life in Brighton, England. He has been very ill for years, at one point being completely bed ridden. He was misdiagnosed for years, being told he was bipolar, had M.E and more and was prescribed medications that made him worse and ended up in psychosis. It turns out Ren had Lyme disease which has caused havoc on his body. He’s been living in Calgary, Canada all year receiving intense medical treatment for his brain damage and mast cell activation disorder amongst other things that were caused by the Lyme disease. He started off making beats at 12 and selling CDs then moved on to busking. He was part of a band called Trick The Fox and was signed to Sony but they didn’t renew the contract after his health deteriorated. He then started The Big Push. They went on hiatus the end of last year after 5 years partly due to his move to Canada and also because the other members are also soloists and were moving around too. There are people who go through life and experience many things, such as, poor upbringing, drug use, criminality, mental and behavioural struggles, addictions, etc. We see rappers create works detailing their struggle with all of that. Ren, however, grew up with parts of all those issues, but the biggest issue for him was the physical pain associated with his Lyme Disease, his drug use and psychosis as such and the crappy medical industry that might have caught his illness early if they had only tried. In Ren's rap song 'Seven Sins' he speaks to his bone-deep pain and how that has changed his view of many things in life. 'Sick boi' is a screed against the system and the fact we are all complicit to some extent. There are many other Ren songs that detail issues in life that hit us hard. 'Dominoes' is about self-view and self-love. 'Suicide' is about Ren's struggle with the death of a friend (Joe). 'Freckled Angels' is about the same friend and the beauty ot that friendship from the perspective of rememberance. Welcome to the world of Ren....you might not knowing yet, but you will figure it out very quickly when you dive deeper into Ren´s catalogue that you just opened "a Pandora´s box".(= the mystical box which can´t be closed anymore after it once got opened) Ren is a gifted storyteller with a tremendous feeling for music in order to transport his stories, he is basically mashing up musical elements from all kinds of music genres for setting the right tone for his messages. He is making his beats himself, he writes the lyrics, he plays tremendously guitar he is rapping + singing. He is simply a role model of an fully independent artist who does everthing he just wants to do and that all by himself although he suffers from lyme disease. And what ever song you´ll pick next you´ll see his unique talent. Renegade here from Florida, USA. HI REN is next for sure. Ren is bliwing up his past year but he has been making mysic since he did his iwn beats at 12. Started busking in Bath and had a band calked Trick the Fox on late teens. Digned by Sony but his health failed drastically at 19 and he was bedridden much of the next 7 years . Lyme disease ravaged hisbody while doctors toldhim it was all in his head and gave him meds that made him worse. He fought constantly fir his own health and samity and still does. He is almost 34 now Suffering from MCAS. POTS, ADHD ,PTSD. AND AUTOIMMUNITY. Takes 100 pills a day and can only eat 7 foods. Uet he puts out the greatest music ever.
