When you get to Rens "Eden" he says that he is "an agnostic who believes" "I believe in us."

No, Ren doesn't call himself a Christian. I believe he went to a Christian school and he said they used to read the Bible in Welsh. As far as I'm aware he would call himself agnostic, though I would suspect it's an ongoing conversation. He's obviously a deep thinker and has wrestled with his spirituality and mortality, which is evident through many of his lyrics. Particular examples which spring to mind are Seven Sins, Dear God, Lost all Faith and Troubles.

I think that it’s not just Ren’s music that has made Renegades. Ren has been an artist who has made connections with his fans through live streams, posts about his on going struggles, and introductions to his inner circle. He has recorded many personal videos that allow his fans to understand his struggles and life. If you really want to understand the Renegades these are worth a look: Million subscribers post; his Chapters series; and the video that was used to promote Hi Ren where he is in the depths of despair. Ren has a second channrl called Renmakesstuff. He pisted there 8 video Chapters telling about the 8 year nightmare to get a diagnosis and treatment.They are about 15 minutes each and end with a relevant song . He talks abour faith, isolation and the physical and mental trauma he went through. Wether you react or not, rhey are a powerful window into his life

I ❤ how loud and in your face the track is in the beginning as it really shows what it feels like when your in front of the umpteenth psychiatrist and being switched to another med. Your suffering and it's hard to explain yourself. It's confusing and your 'drowning with your feet upon the ground.' And told to take a deep breath... Ok. that's helpful. 😒 Ren's RL medical tragedy makes his perspective unique. Being told by doctors that you have a mental illness and are not physically ill when you're feeling physically unwell is srsly f'd up, & will consequently mess up your mental health. And given all kinds of meds for mental illness that you don't have, while your undiagnosed autoimmune disease is ravaging your organs? I can't even... And then to end "Sick Boi" with personal accountability? It's a theme in a lot of his music - a personal issue that's an example of a societal/industry problem, and then reminding us to know our own role & not simply blame others. You'll probably enjoy the Money Game series. While recommended to watch in order, it's not necessary as they are 3 independent parts. (Watch the official lyric video when you get to part 2 as the live version as a capella of part of the song.)

Ren is more than simply a musician. He's a beacon of hope, and change. And he's not lecturing people from a place of moral superiority, he's blaming himself as much as pointing the finger at others. He's just starting conversations and saying to us, THINK.

Welcome to the Reniverse❤. He does so many genres and collaborations ( Chinchilla- The Big Push- Sam Tompkins…..). Additionally he does retakes of other people’s songs- he keeps the music, but ands his lyrics and other embellishments ( Nas Halftime, The Verve Bittersweet Symphony and Fisher Loosing It) He also reinvents his own work with acoustic or pared down live versions such as Murderer- A great reaction would be doing both versions of Murderer. His music can be heavy- but there are uplifting and lighter ones too( power, the Love Music Series, what you want, loosing it….).

The irony of this whole situation is what this song is about: his health battle, the cutthroat nature of the business and taking advantage of and commodifying his talent, being given enough but still taking more than we need. Plus he is a sick boi because he was bitten by a tick, which is a blood seeking parasite…which is what he depicted KuJo as ( a parasite of the industry) when he says “ when you fuck with my work you might as well bleed me”. And tbh, it is a sick beat. I’m 57 and I LOVE EM! You will love Seven Sins, The Hunger, Losing It Fisher retake, Halftime retake - lots of flow switches with great wordplay with doubles and triples.

As a chronic severe intractable pain and illness sufferer with 20+years of dealing with the American healthcare system: medical gaslighting is a real thing. It's not just shoving pills and nonsense, no, even worse are the doctors who blame the patient. Literally being told you are not sick; that the pain you feel isn't real. Not to go into the whole alpha betti spaghetti of my medical diagnoses, but to drive the medical gaslighting point home: I was finally diagnosed with a genetic mutation of a gene that produces collagen: type III collagen in my case so vascular type Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (vEDS). So imagine a lifetime of being told "it's all in your head" only to find out it's written in your genes. This type of thing would make anyone crazy. ❤❤ So Ren is a miracle that has manifested in this common house potatos life. 🥔 Many crablings will agree 🦀 😂 watch the twitch streams leading up to Money Game 3 to get the reference 😂😂

This is a perfect expression of the built up frustration from being misdiagnosed for years and doctors treating him like a hypochondriac, telling him it’s all in his head, and pushing pills instead of listening. There are two great follow ups to Sick Boi. One is Troubles where he basically summarises his journey with illness year by year. He also released 8 chapters talking about his story that are well worth watching (though maybe skip the songs he attaches at the end so you can save them for reactions). The other great option is one of my personal favourites that doesn’t get nearly as much attention as it deserves: Crutch feat. Bibi. It’s an older song from before Ren was finally correctly diagnosed with Lyme disease and was written after a breakdown following multiple emergency trips to the hospital. It is heart wrenching and stunning. It’s also very different from everything else in his catalogue. Though no rapping so unsure if it’s for you? Even if it’s not your usual thing I think it’s worth seeing how wide this man’s skills and music ranges.

The Kujo Beat Down was over the choir you hear in the background. You are only scratching the surface. The Renverse is multifaceted and humbling. His creative genius is astounding and he doesn't stay in one box. He's Bard-Core. A Renaissance artist and it's still evolving. He is entering his Super Saiyan phase. The Weights are falling off and he's about to FLY!

“This is more than just a song.” Yes. Now you can understand why this song and video meant so much to Ren. It’s deeply personal and represents not just his physical and mental health struggles, but also his struggles with greed and the music industry. Pulling the video down inappropriately was a gut punch. And refusing to negotiate the situation in good faith, despite multiple attempts, sent Ren over the edge. I don’t understand how Kujo thought holding this video hostage would end well for him. As you learn more about Ren’s story, he was misdiagnosed for 8 years and treated like a hypochondriac by the medical industry - “Your mind is making you sick.” He was put on meds for mental health issues that not only had terrible side effects, but made the Lyme disease worse. He was in constant pain, battling crippling fatigue, and still to this day there are only a few foods that he can eat - even after 2 stem cell treatments and a year and a half of intensive treatment in Canada to undo some of the damage to his auto immune system and reverse some of the brain damage. Through all of that (and even more heartbreak and loss), he has remained kind, generous, and passionate to help others. Even when he thought he wouldn’t live to see 30, he was trying to increase awareness and be a voice for the voiceless. This song wasn’t just telling his story, but the story of so many others who feel lost in the darkness. I think you should do the Money Game series next (or after The Hunger). Money Game 1 and Money Game 3 are live performance videos filmed again by Samuel Perry Falvey. And Money Game 2 is a lyric video that showcases his lyricism. All three tackle greed and the state of the human condition.

I’m a Stan and a Renegade. Hi Ren was the introduction to Ren for so many of us , then we discovered just how much more there was to his talent. It is amazing and sometimes mind blowing how well he tells stories. The fact that he creates his own tracks, plays instruments, does his on mixing, comes up with his video concepts, raps, beat boxes, sings. I also found out for Losing It he did most of the filming himself and all the editing. Thank you for starting this journey.

"What do we do about this?" I think the fact that we're talking about it is a good start. Ren's ability to bring issues that we in general are not comfortable talking about to the forefront, while also gifting us with his other talents is incredible. His music is intoxicating. I support the comments that tell about Ren's ability to form close relationships with the fans. Ren is extremely skilled at arranging live streams where he talks about everything between heaven and earth that we fans ask about. He told us bedtime stories, for example the princess and the frog. He talks about new music, filming videos, his path through his illness and the status of treatment. We have a bit of a standing joke about him being our cult leader - but there may be something to it. 😉 He is human and he is not afraid to let us in. He is the kind that we feel we know as a person The fact that he is also a fantastically talented artist is another side of the story

There is a clip, I think on Ren's Twitch from the drop of Hi Ren where he said he "is not religious in the sense that I say, "I am a Christian", or "I am a Buddhist" and he says he finds a lot of inspiration within Religious mythilogies/symbols. He also says in "Eden", the finale of The Money Game Challenge "I believe in Us."--in humanity's abilities as a whole (you'll understand better after you react to the Money Game trilogy).

Before Ren got ill, he was signed. Unfortunately illness took that away from him. I can't help but feel in some ways that was a lucky escape for him. Something great has come out of his suffering.

I think this song is a narrative to show the years where he was misdiagnosed… where they told him he has mental issues and that his physical illness was all in his head… and how for years he fell through the cracks until finally being diagnosed with Lyme’s disease… but then had other issues that were brought on by years of not treating Lyme and receiving a myriad of incorrect but strong physiological medications

I don't know if anyone else answered; Ren stated he was agnostic at the end of last year. He uses a lot of Christian references. (My understanding is) He has faith in humanity, though no doubt we shake it on the daily.

Ren doesn't claim to be Christian, he isn't religious but finds the topic and ideas. He is agnostic. He talks about the topic quite a bit but he isn't using it as promotion or dissection or anything. Just to make points and relatable

I can't wait for you to do the Money Game series. Money Games 1 & 3 are live one take videos (MG3 had 1 cut). MG3 has also won awards. Money Game 2 needs to be the lyric video as that is the full song. They are genius in their own way, just like every Ren song is. You will love them. To see a true Ren, watch his 1 Million Subscribers video. Also, his Chapters series 1-8 where he pretty much reads his life story and each end with one of his songs going right back to when he was about 19 that he wrote around that time.

I'm only 8 min in but you are very correct when you said it's like Ren was trying to find the root of his pain. He was because he was misdiagnosed for so long, told it was in his head, given the wrong meds or psyche meds that twisted his mind because the whole time it was Lyme disease from a tick bite and getting worse.
