Don't worry about crying, happens to most of us. Ren manages to invoke these emotions in people because most of us can relate in some way. If you're an empath like me, knowing his backstory makes it worse lol, you can feel his pain in his words. His life story would make an absolute blockbuster of a movie, Imagine the rollercoaster of emotions you'd go through in that couple of hours.

Please don’t apologise, there is no disappointment at all! Psychosis is traumatising no matter how severe. No true renegade will judge you for having rens music dig up unresolved emotional junk within you, I think many of us have experienced that to some degree and that’s part of why we love ren and his music so much. But if that isn’t something you’re comfortable with just let us know, he does have loads of less heavy music as well as awesome fun music - he has all kinds of music lol ! Believe It Or not, that was an absolutely genuine reaction that all of us have gone through listening to Ren for the first few times. It is kind of like an Awakening, and at the same time he brings us a homeostasis feeling that you had mentioned, ironically, lol. Don't feel like you have to hit the pause on this artist because he's actually going to bring you closer to understanding how beautiful this person is, and at the same time how beautiful you are. You have absolutely nothing to apologize for. Trauma is like that. I am starting a vigorous program in a couple of weeks. It has had me all sorts of off kilter and randomly emotional since I did the intake. I was looking forward to it until these wounds started bleeding again. Sometimes it takes that reopening to properly close and heal the wound. I do not suffer from psychosis, but I do suffer from hallucinations from an ongoing imbalance. I spent a long time dissociated and have also been places I ought have been. You're not alone. Thank you so much for keeping this reaction genuine and publishing it. I would suggest doing a more upbeat song next my friend. 'losing it' or the 'love music 1,2,3 & 4' series are really fun songs. you done great and I'm proud of you. It is very natural to shy away from unpleasant memories, even though it isn’t helpful in the long run. If you have been through terrible times, why would you want to focus on them; it is only human to want to avoid that. I realised, though, that I was being held hostage by my need to avoid any and all negative feelings, so I was cringing through life while waiting for the next bad thing to happen, and not even enjoying the good times. It was not a healthy way to live, and so I was forced to change, albeit slowly and reluctantly. Even now, though, I can’t watch “Crutch” without getting upset, because it really hits too close to home.

I dont think it is a negative reaction. Ren has a way of bringing out the emotions of his fans. Ren has several fun and upbeat songs that you would enjoy, I am sure. Feel better and know that there is no need to be sorry for YOUR reaction.

First of all, so, so, so many people break down to REN music. It provides catharsis for people, often when they didn’t realise they needed it. It has for me and still does. Many reactors apologise for crying or, being ‘weak’ but, it is stronger to show that emotion than to hide it. He is a true artist and unlocks things that people cannot understand. ❤

There are so many who have a visceral emotional reaction to Ren's music. My suggestion is to watch the Tales trilogy with someone else. Money Game 1, 2 and 3 are phnomenal andyou will love them. Love Music 1, 2 3 and 4 and hilarious and just plain fun. Try those next.

HI Ren still brings tears to my eyes after watching 80% of all reactions to hi Ren ..and few others like sulcide ...for joe.. From what I seen you have dealt with some really hard stuff... and you have to remember or tell yourself that ... what ever happened in the past you cannot hold it against you or blame yourself .... if anything blame the system that wasn't there to support you through your ILLNESS... when ones mind is ILL.. It needs the help and support of a strong and caring community of familly friends and specialist... If any of these is lightly weak then the system is set to fail you ... We take you as you are, if I'm here - I'm here for you not for "content" :) As I can speak only for myself I find watching HeartSupport - Music to Improve Your Mindset reactions to Ren very helpful. He's hitting me with lyrics which brings strong emotions, her comments and knowledge helps me to look at those emotions from a little distance and sort them and put on the appropriate shelfs. Thanks to her I understood I need to look on healing within trauma, not from trauma.

Never apologise for getting emotional when reacting to Ren. Ren is showing us all that it’s okay to be vulnerable and authentic. And the community that has grown around this man not only shows that we are not alone but that we need Ren in this world. I know that it’s hard when you feel like you’re showing weakness, but if anything it takes bravery to be open and honest. I don't think anyone would care that your reaction was 'negative', I think they'd see your reaction was actually very positive as you take stock and be introspective of what you've gone through. Your reaction is perfectly human. I've found that every time I think I've resolved a traumatic thing, something happens and then I'm like oh sh*t, it's still there. Ren's story is similar to yours except he had undiagnosed Lyme disease. For musical fun and joy you will love Ren's recent drop called Back on 74 /Message in a Bottle Retake. Great vocals, great vibe. For great rapping is another new on called Nas Halftime Retake. Nas' beat with Ren's lyrics. No triggering, no tears. Just fun and great music.

This made me relive a lot of my medical trauma too. Sending mega love and good vibes your way. I have to visit the doctor to keep my medications and status up to date...but just knowing I have to go for the visit sends me into PTSD trauma. Messes me up for weeks every time.

how can we be disappointed with an honest reaction. being honest about your emotions with a large number of people watching you takes courage, you could have not posted the video and kept it to yourself, but you didn't, you let those in your community see that being vulnerable is acceptable. I had almost the same reaction when i firsr saw this. Agitated anxious. Over the months i found myself miraculously coming back to this again and again. It actually worked as therapy, helping me cone to terms with my basic fear if chaos. Do Chalk Outlines live with Chinchilla. They sing.eloquently.

He's making people like you and me, himself and others seen and that we should understand it's okii that we had that in our lives, if it's past, present or continuous into the future and that people should understand this is our reality and not something for them to mock or anything but to show your emotions if you have emotions is a brave thing, you're embracing it and while that is a challenge for us, he say's it's okii, let it be known... "This is part of me and people need to know that's okii" we all have struggled with different things on so many levels and this is our struggle with mental illness, mental disorders, psychosis and things like auto immunity are real and while others might never really fully grasp it, heck, we might never grasp it ourselves... Hey girl. I found you through Ren as many others. I find you refreshing and real, that you for being real. I admire your bravery in speaking about what you have been and are still going through. I have yet to be as brave but i will try a little here. After having covid i fell into a long covid brain fog that impacted me mentally as well as physically. I still deal with it daily as i am sure you can relate to. disassociation, feeling like i was in the wrong reality, not able to comprehend things in real time, and so much more. As i think back on it i know i had a severe mental break and am so ashamed of some of my behavior and actions. While i only did things that hurt myself, i am ok, i know people saw. I have never fully talked about the mental part as it is hard for people that have not dealt with that sort of thing to understand. I also self isolate still. yes, the fear still has me a bit frozen. Thank you for your reactions. I will say that Ren's music is therapeutic to listen to. The "real" stuff and his fun stuff. He has some inspirational pieces that are a bit more positive. I often listen to Hi Ren as a bit of a mental check in on where i am at mentally. My reaction changes based on how i am doing and usually will help me correct than if i wait formelf to figure it out myself. Stay strong ❤

Hope you released some of the feelings that come with haveing been ill, I have BPD and have reacted/done things whilst in the mist of some bad times that I would never of thought myself caperable of doing to pepole I love. The guilt, shame and horror of which I still have to work through. Hope you can find someone to trust to help you let go of some of that. You are a good person who was very ill. Pretty much everyone has a strong emotional response to most of Ren's work. It can be overpowering at times. I've lost count at how many times I've cried listening to Ren! No other artist has affected me so strongly, emotionally. However, don't worry. Sometimes they'll be tears of joy. Sometimes you'll be laughing out loud. Sometimes he'll leave you thinking, profoundly. You'll go through it all with Ren! Sometimes you'll just be sitting there with a big stupid grin on your face. At other times you'll be dumbstruck, in awe of his talent! He does everything and does everything so well! Definitely don't apologise for feeling! Even if they're negative feelings, feeling them and acknowledging them, is the first step to dealing with them. :)

One of the reasons Ren resonates so strongly is his honesty and intimacy... from his lyrics right down to most of his videos (appearing as, at least) being one-takes. I totally get that you might not want to share every moment and molecule of yourself to us total strangers but reactions are, at their core, intimate moments. To the degree you're comfortable sharing that something hits you strongly, don't hesitate. The weakest people I know hide their flaws. The strongest people I know don't bother. Also, I definitely feel you about realizing you're not as far as you'd thought. I was down for a few years and one of the biggest obstacles was how I _thought_ I was good at emotional regulation when the truth was, just like you, I had much to learn. But hey, some of us never find out. So this moment of discovery is something you should celebrate, NOT be ashamed of. It would have been so much better if you hadn't had to learn the hard way, yes, but you ain't alone! Others aren't alone. Your moment, shared here, helps prove it. And you just apologized for it. To change the pace and explore more of Ren's catalog that can be a little more upbeat and demonstrate different aspects of his voice, I'd recommend listening to his "Love Music" series. 4 parts, 4 different songs. Or the few songs of Ren featuring Eden like Humble. A fun change of pace from Hi Ren and Sick Boi which are a little deeper and darker.

Once again that was a very authentic and open reaction to Ren. I think that everyone that sees you experiencing Ren can appreciate the parallels in your life experience compared to Ren. From a self confessed master of locking the difficult stuff away I completely understood your reaction, appreciate you appreciating Ren but please only take on what you feel comfortable doing. He does have many fun & light-hearted work too, I often go to the likes of 'Losing It' after a heavier one has hit me hard on any given day. No need to apologise at all, that was an open and honest reaction to personal memories evoked by this song and it's meaning. The path to recovery is never a straight line, sometimes you will have things that trigger these memories, it doesn't mean you haven't improved, it's just a little tester along the way to recovery... just like the pendulum that Ren described in Hi Ren... relax, you will be OK. Try and think of it this way; You have had traumatic experiences, you watched a very visceral video that brought these traumatic memories flooding back and it upset you. The problem with Ren is that he has the ability to hit you/us in the feels, and the good thing about Ren is that he hits us in the feels. And most of the feels are happy, amazement (at his skills/talent), thankful (example.. Hi-Ren) joy, wonder.. ..dammit, he hits us in all the areas, and we want more

Yeah... Ren does this. I don't know that I've seen anyone come away from his harder-hitting songs without being affected in some significant way.

Don't be afraid to hear more of Ren's songs! They are not all this heavy! Try Power or Genesis for hip-hop. Try The Hunger, Illist of our time, or Wicked Ways for some showing-off rap skills. Or my favorites: his live duets with Chinchilla for some truely beautiful harmonies.

Ren always has a message in his music to tell people about things... So some people sing or rap about feelings, emotions, the good and the bad but Ren is a pragmatic realist and is enlightened beyond the construct of human lies and vain stuff... He even explains in 1 of his tracks how he takes the scraps from life... You have Harry Mack the freestyle rap God who does the same thing, except also on a whole other lane of, H-Mack makes people seen in a positive movement that's constructive too in it's own way... Ren isn't good or bad, right or wrong, he's centered and balanced with himself, so he's a much more clear cut, down to Earth protagonist who's also a pragmatic realist. Like NF he's about tapping into the balance in ways that's showing people they can be seen at the fore front of life, even if they have things like this going on and it teaches other people to understand more open mindedly about it so people can be more constructive about it in life itself.
