Yes. Violet was their mother. The reference to 2-0-0-5 in the lyrics is the year of Violet's tale, 2005. The assumption is that Jenny's twins, since they became orphans, are separated and put into the system. So they grew up not knowing each other.

Born together, died together.... generational violence, failure of the foster system, there's so much inferred that you fill in when you realize Screech killed the one person he should've protected taking after his father... and Jenny died... having frozen and staying silent just like her mom. It's got a lot of layers.
@jrbush1
@jrbush1 7 месяцев назад
Great reaction. You certainly got all the high points. Thinking back to 14 year-old Jenny walking the streets in high heel shoes like she has so many times before…and wishes she could escape. Violet’s dad was a violent drinker. Stevie was violent and killed Violet. James/Screech was violent and killed Jenny. Violet’s mom was quiet about her husband’s abuse. Violet was always quiet. And Jenny was frozen in place. You caught Jenny and Screech’s entry into the world the same day, lying side by side. And they left it the same way. On the same day, lying side by side…only one street apart. I saw that this story originated on Facebook around 2012. Ren brought it to RU-vid in 2019 when they were 14 years old (he had to rewind the clock to 2-0-0-5 to watch their birth in 2005.). He followed up with Screech’s tale in 2019. And Violet’s tale was uploaded in 2022. Imagine being there for the old Facebook post and only 10 years later getting the whole story. Last, this was loosely based on a news story Ren heard about a prostitute getting killed. All of the rest comes from the mind of Ren.
@kipper2626
@kipper2626 7 месяцев назад
When this all sinks in, you realise that Jenny's reaction to fear was to freeze up and go silent. Screech's way of dealing with everything is with rage and violence. One after their mother... one after their father... sigh 😢
@Shiroar

Ren is a modern day bard painting such vivid imagery with his storytelling that it pulls you in and forces you to keep watching - even when it gets physically uncomfortable during Violet’s Tale. And Ren uses this ability to shed light on far too real issues in the world. I am sorry it resonated with you on a personal level 🫂 Great reaction though. You got it right. Now you get to wait in eager anticipation with the rest of us, cause Ren has said that he and his cinematographer Sam have plans to film a pilot to pitch to Netflix when Ren has finished treatments in Canada and moves back to the UK. All we know is that it will be in the same raw style as this trilogy, but that is enough for me to say that if Netflix doesn’t give Ren his own show, they are fools 😂

I know I am a little late with checking you out and commenting on this one, but if you listen to this again, the twins actually are described as having the traits of both their parents. Jenny was the quiet, shy one like Violet whereas Screech adopted his father's aggressive, abusive personality.. Also, I had read somewhere that the reason why Patrick didn't answer the door is because he was over at the girlfriend's house and that is why she told Screech she was "busy"... So much detail hidden between the lines, it's so astonishing to me. Ren NEVER disappoints.

I've watched probably 40+ reactions to this trilogy, and you are the very first person to mention/circle back to the fact that Violet's Tale began in the hospital, then we "rewind" to get 95% of her story/upbringing. Major kudos to you on the great feedback, honest reactions & takeaways you shared from these 3 songs. Lastly: I'm sorry to hear you relate to and were triggered in parts of the trilogy. It's such a terrible circumstance listening to everything Violet's endured, and I can't even imagine relating to it personally. Much love and many hugs to you from TX. I love that he purposely walks into a green light at the end because it’s a sickening feeling. Also I think that they were identical twins and Jenny saw herself in screech but screech was too high but he still felt it which is why he was so freaked out. It’s a masterpiece mindfck and I love Ren for every moment of it

Correct on everything. You are very sharp, you pulled all that together quickly. Generational trauma and abuse is being portrayed here. Jenny was quiet like her mother (Violet) and James(screech) was loud and violent like his father Stevie. Ren read an article about a 14 yr old boy who robbed and stabbed a young female prostitute. The cop on the scene said "what a shame". Ren took that information and made Jenny and screech, each story was 2 or 3 yrs apart. He did Violets tale last and figured out a way to tie them all together.
@JUKEJAMS
@JUKEJAMS 7 месяцев назад
He had me hanging onto every single word he spoke. I lost focus for a second during Violet's Tale because he distracted me with the flashback and vivid picture of trauma. I was not expecting the revelation. Insane that that's all the cop had to say, but I know how desensitized they become from the work unfortunately. Also, thank you for the kind words.

The tales of transgenerational violence Ren tried to showcase a system that raised woman to be submissive and have no voice and man to be aggressive, violent and dominant. Violet, her mom and her daughter were compiling and submissive to the violence of the man around them and Violet's dad, her partner (abuser) and her son were all aggressive and violent. Even though separated on birth because of what happened to their mother, they still end up being raised by the same broken system. If you go deeper in this story, Ren posted Instagram stories back then, role playing as Screech. He was abused at home by his foster parent and he wanted so desperate to get out of that fate, that he canalized his anger on the path of crime. I don't know why Jenny decided to become a sex worker. I don't know what drove her to get out of her fate as well. But both of them were trying to get out of their shackles imposed by the broken system they were part of, using whatever means necessary and both end up colliding with each other, which made them lose their lives. This whole story was based on a crime in the newspaper that Ren had read. The news was about a teenager boy killing a teenager girl that was prostituting and dying soon after when he resisted and assaulted the police officer that tried to restrain him (if I'm not mistaken). The next day, another office told the following statement to the media: "It's such a shame!"

To me what this song represents (not stating Rens intentions in writing, just as an after effect): Whenever there's a tragic story like a school shooting or something a common question from folks who dont understand this part of the world is "how can/did this happen"? The questions been asked a million times, and the answer obvious to those who know this side of the human world. I believe this to be the best answer/description of how this happens, how cycles affect communities etc. He answers that question, to me, as much as tells a story. BTW: We call that face "Stankface" in the guitar world 😛

Yes we will show up for all things Ren! We just love it when someone discovers him and we want to be part of the ride. You've listened to/ watched 2 of his masterpieces but they are pretty heavy ...go for something light and fun next like The Hunger, Power or Animal Flow or Illist of our time ... Check out his band The Big Push Bongo Bong or War Pigs, I shot the Sheriff...I listen to Humble everyday on the way to work ...anything he did with Chinchilla is amazing but Chalk Outline is hauntingly beautiful ...money game 1,2 & 3 are awesome too. He is just so versitile you never know what he will do next,but one thing you do know is it will be good. Yes, Jenny and Screech are twins. Violet is their mom. Jenny is quite like her mom & freezes in the face of violence. Screech is full of violence and just like his dad he gets even more angry when faced with the silence of Jenny. There are so many layers to this. Hope you have fun down the Ren Rabbit Hole. The Renegades will be here for it. Peace ✌️ Sorry i just saw that youve already done the hunger ...going to watch your reaction to thst next ❤

Yup he’s showing us the very best that BatdCore has to offer. In this trilogy he reminds me of the minstrels in a Shakespeare play. His beautiful singing telling the darkest of tales. It messes with the brain a bit, he’s smiling and almost jovial in his movements but the words are so horrific and don’t match his actions. Then there’s watching him switching back and forth between the characters and narrator (especially that heavy panicked breathing of Screech’s then suddenly just calm as narrator) he’s so damn brilliant.

Wow thank you for such a beautiful reaction. Iv watched this hundreds of times literally with the amount of reactions I watch and this genuinely was one of the most raw, honest reaction I have seen. Ren seriously is the best story teller out there. This started off being based off a story Ren read in the newspaper about a young man that slashed and killed a young prostitute. The reporter ended the report with “it’s such a shame” hence Ren using that line a lot. Jenny’s tale came out in feb 2019, screech’s in sept 2019 and violets tale in July 2022. Patrick was potentially with Screech’s girlfriend hence she was “busy”. Notice how Jenny was a quiet girl like her Mom Violet and Screech was violent like his dad stevie. Generational abuse. Such a well written and presented story but definitely very hard to watch especially when you have been through abuse yourself. Sending you lots of love 🖤🫶 Can I suggest an upbeat one next. Try his band - The Big Push - “I shot the sheriff/road to Zion/hiphop” He’s wearing red suspenders in it (that’s the best version)

Great reaction to the story but it gets even deeper when you realise Jenny was working the streets at the age of 14. So her cycle of being abused shows the traits of her mother violet and before her mother who stayed silent. And Screech is the abuser showing his father’s traits.
@GenXGypsies
@GenXGypsies 7 месяцев назад
The series is a story of generational curses...Jenny, attacked freezes like silent Violet. Screech embodies his hot headed (unknown) father who we can assume was arrested for Violet's death, which seperates the twins and put them into the system. Yes, great depth! PS: plz, plz, plz - when you pause it (as we know you must) be kind and rewind a few seconds - you'll be glad you did as the flow and lyrics are lost. A LITTLE TRIGGERING? The first listening sent me to a therapist. Oh, yeah I turned her on to him, too. Oh yes, a lot of this is DEEPLY familiar to far too many people. TOO MUCH....at first, and he started a landslide of things I needed to GET RID OF. Amazing, a genius. Now I watch with awe, deep respect, and a teeny bit of distance between the "blows that fall like a crashing pilot" OMG I remember. I felt those blows when he sang them. The camerawork!!!! OMG. Now I watch as a valuable SOCIAL ART piece. I've told everyone I know. Goosebumps every single time. I can't see buying a cd, as SO VERY MUCH would be LOST. So far beyond just "music" that the others pale in comparison. I'm elderly and retired. I wish so very much I had heard him as a young person....so VERY GRATEFUL for him. And look at the comments! Even the senior citizens are GOBSMACKED...though not initially into rap or reggae...Metallica? Honey, that is WAY before them, that is medieval. He's covered about every genre. I'm a long time fan of spanish/classical guitar and he does things with...and TO...his guitar that I've never seen/heard before!

SO much to take in with this brilliant Shakespearean tragedy. I get frustrated with some reactions when it's missed how he describes Jenny....why would a 14 year old be walking the same street a 1000 times, in high heel shoes? Almost no one seems to catch that. Also, for "Screech's Tale", it seems that almost no one catches that Screech's girlfriend and his friend Patrick, happen to be "busy", or not available, at the same time. Consider why. Maybe they were together? Patrick wasn't home...was he with Screech's girl at her place and that's why she was "busy"? It adds a whole other layer to the story. Also consider that Jenny and Screech were born side by side, and essentially died side by side, one street apart. Born on the same day (2005), died on the same day (2019). An entire family, mother and twins that never knew each other, wiped out by a cycle of violence. An abused mother, a 14 year old prostitute, and a 14 year old thug/murderer. There's sheer brilliance in the line "please let my baby stay alive"....at this point you don't yet know that it's twins, but "baby" followed by "stay" can also be read as "babies" because the S in "stay" isn't necessarily separate from "baby". Say it out loud- you'll understand what I mean. Such a clever way to hide the twist reveal while still giving it up at the same time...if you can catch it. Brilliant.Powerful stuff. In "Violet's Tale", the way he uses the acoustics of his environment to accentuate the song is absolute brilliance too....and btw, Ren is self taught on the guitar. Just one of many instruments he plays including drums, bass, & piano.The man is truly special. A prodigy. From what I understand, he wrote the first 2 songs after reading an article about a very young man murdering a young woman in London, he didn't write "Violet's Tale" until a few years later and that one was of his own making. He said that there are 2 songs so far that he wrote, that he knew in his gut were special. "Hi Ren" (of course) and "Violet's Tale". (He was right on both counts imo.)

The “tales” are a masterpiece that have a lot of hidden Easter eggs in them that can enhance the story, I’ve done a playlist on my YT with my theories about all the main characters and how everything is connected, I’m not saying my interpretation is in any way the only solution to the tales but as in all great art it opens up discussion.

Spot on reaction brother! This is why Ren resonates with so many people - he's emotionally raw, visceral and down to earth. He's been through absolute fucking hell, and he's still climbing his way out. I'm so glad to have found yet another extremely appreciate Ren reactor! You only have like another 100 different catalogs to go through, you'll have content matter for MONTHS based off Ren alone, lol ❤

You got a new sub from me. Ren plays just about every different genre. You can imagine. You will be amazed at his singing voice, his rapping ability, and his guitar playing; the list goes on and on. I and after all of that, start checking out The Big Push (a band of friends he used to play with) who play some of the most ridiculously good covers you’ll ever hear. Start with ‘I shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop’ ‘Wade in the Water’ ‘war pigs’ and ‘Praise You’ You’re in for a ride Sir Oh, and after that, check out Ren and Sam Tomkins

The Tales are a master in the footsteps of Shakespearean Tradgedy. He's not afraid of telling stories that are complex and don't have a happy ending. If you want lighter fare to bring you up, try The Hunger or the Love Music trilogy.

Also, generational trauma might be a theme Ren touches on, definitely here and in other songs as well.

You nailed it. Tragic for real, but unfortunately is too real. I mean, this story isn't real, but I'm sure isn't far off with today's issues. His ability to tell stories is beyond amazing. Also, you mentioned the Renegades in the beginning, and just know they're the most amazing humans on this planet! Looking forward to more, as he's got so much amazing art!! - New Renegade subscriber!

I could totally feel your gut wrench in violets tale. There are many people who have lived this experience, known people who have or simply people who just turn their heads bc its a truly uncomfortable thing to have to look at. But its real and the cycle of violence is something truly hurting pur world. Ren read a newspaper article about this teenage prostitute (who in the story is jenny, high heels, walked thousands of times). Anyway in this article it said this girl was murdered and at the end it said "what a shame". This really bothered Ren that the article ended this way and wanted to bring notice to the unacceptable judgement of people who are voiceless. Anyway Ren is brilliant he is 100% top notch rapper, lyricist. But his voice is beautiful. Very unique but him singing is some of my favorite Ren. He just dropped a new song called Fred again mash-up its brand new a couple days old!! AMAZING. anyway love your reactions and you are so genuine. ❤from ND

Ren is a Shakespearian bard. His story form music is pure WS. I am so glad you like, and get Ren. Now the Money Game trilogy! And your just getting started on a trip with maybe the best musician of a lifetime. Ren has had a rough life, losing his best friend to suicide, at about the same time illness, misdiagnosed as some in his head, to years and years later, finding out it was Lyme Disease. A good guy in California, got him into stem cell research, and he is currently in Canada, doing some additional treatments. He was left in bed for much of his 20's, and is allegeric to just about everything but meat. The guy is a champion!

Jenny’s tale was released first then screech 6 months later both in 2019, 14 years before violet gave birth to them in 2005, as she passed. Violet’s tale was written and released two years after the first two I believe.

I’m not sure how old you are but I immediately got the sweet taste of nostalgia at the beginning of this video… between the two starter jackets and the Warren G Regulator type cadence that screech uses to deliver his first few flows..” give me all your money btch, give it to me” paying some serious homage to Mr. Warren G

Yes, so many facets to this guys talent. Unlimited! But Ren is not all about deep and dark themes. Go now to some Fun stuff. For a well-rounded view: have a look at his' Losing It' and also some of his street { Busking } performances with his previous band: The Big Push. Highly recommend you start with their medley: I Shot The Sheriff / Zion / Hip Hop. Enjoy!

What a great reaction! You were right. Ren distracts us with this story. Our mind is trying to process all that's going on that we don't even see the end coming. Of course you got it right. You put all the pieces together at the end. It just takes a minute sometimes.
