"The tale of ..." is probably the best example of Ren's storytelling with "Money Game part 3" following close behind. Also, Ren is not classically trained. In interviews, he has said he learned guitar simply by watching RU-vid tutorials. In case you ate unaware, he went through close to a decade of physical and mental deterioration due to medical misdiagnosis. He details it brilliantly In his track "troubles". If it is any Consolation, not all of his music is dark, twisted, deep and/or fucked up. Some examples of his "fun" music include "what you want," "Losing it," "Loco," "Uninvited," "Love Music parts 1-4," etc. On the topic of mental health, other great tracks include "Sick boi," "genesis," "seven sins," "Murderer," "Animal flow," "wicked ways," "murderer" etc etc etc. So excited to see you continue your Ren musical exploration and journey

Hi Ren was a single live performance using 3 cameras. The trilogy was filmed on 3 separate occasions. But yes each was live and single shot. He is self taught on all his instruments. Great reaction ❤
For several years now I’ve watched a lot of your videos and I’ve always enjoyed your content, however I’ve never before made any comments. To elaborate, i don’t remember ever leaving any comments on any video I’ve watched. So let me tell you I feel compelled to leave one now. Ever since I first saw REN about 2 years ago I’ve probably watched at least a couple of hundred reactions to several of his songs, very conservative number by the way, and I have personally not seen a more genuine reaction than yours. So to wrap this up, thank you for being the first reactor I’ve watched that I now believe is 100% truthful. You’ve restored a little bit of my faith in humanity at a time when I desperately need it. So thank you again for being you. I know that this already a long comment, but adding one thing that I’m certain you already know by the time you see this, yes both Hi REN and this video are one take live videos as are many of his videos. The Jenny and Screech Trilogy is a very powerful piece. Ren is self taught on guitar and piano from watching RU-vid videos. When you listen to some of his 'produced in the studio' music, remember that he plays the instruments, writes, and produces his own tracks. He also comes up with the concepts for his videos, and joint directs them with his videographer friend Sam Perry-Falvey. The Money Game trilogy is a beauty
As a professional guitarist of 40 years... I've never seen anyone play like he does! The way he uses his index finger as a Pick... blows my mind! Self taught... Yes... Expertly so!!! There's something to be said about learning something W/O all the "Norms", "Rules", "Expectations"... and doing it the Right Way... albeit Not the norm! Don't get me wrong... his theory is sound AF! It's his ability to get what he "WANTS" outta the guitar that's exceptionally Perfect in his own way!!! By Far my Favorite artist of my lifetime!!! I've never really enjoyed Rap either... until hearing Rens lyrics! They're as Amazing as his musical abilities!!! Example... check out his short he posted on the 4th of July! (Bro turned into a siren mid performanc!) The ability to Improvise the way he does in it... is a sign of a Master Level Artist!!!

Time to pick a more lighthearted Ren song, he's got so many out there. Also, yes Ren is self taught on guitar, he plays many instruments, produces and mixes and masters his own music, sings, raps, beatboxes, conceptualizes and edits most of his videos.... He's multi talented, multi genre, super intelligent, humble.... His channel is RenMaksMusic music and IMHO I think it should be Ren IS Music after having listened to pretty much every song he's got on YT. 💙💙💙
1000% you got my sub here man. It takes legitimately strong man to really experience the Tales and put it out there for others. Its a rare and important example of how to handle the emotions the Tales bring up in a healthy way. Keep keeping up the good stuff; here for more Ren. You may want to experience another side of Ren, its not all like these videos. I highly recommend a couple of videos from his busking performances with his band "The Big Push" especially "War Pigs (Black Sabbath cover)" or "I Shot the Sheriff\Road to Zion\Hip Hop" (both videos look for Ren in the RED SUSPENDERS (i.e. red bracers))
I discovered Ren in Dec of 2022 by seeing Hi Ren then these Tales. I haven't stopped watching his videos, watching reactions, discovered his band The Big Push and follow those members, it's a huge rabbit warren of excellence. And yes, he's a prodigy. To say simply that Ren is "That Guy" is such a gross understatement yet so true. He's the perfect example of what can happen when you use your powers for good. With everything Ren has gone through he could have given up or turned cold and evil but refused to give himself to such things. His sort of determination is so very rare in our current world. We are just so very blessed to have Ren.
What a superb reaction GC! Wonderful, wonderful stuff. Ren and Sam Tompkins are the masters of the one take video. Hi Ren was shot with 3 cameras but in a one take edit. Jenny & Screech is 3 one takes. I highly recommend Money Game Parts 1, 2 & 3 as your next experience. Parts 1 & 3 are one shot takes and amount to genius. Ren is playing and singing live in them btw. Yes they get post-processed for sound, but he is live in this stuff. Money Game Pt 2 the Official Lyric Video is the one you want and it's what it says on the tin - a fairly standard video in which Ren hardly appears, but it's class. At some point you're going to want to do Chalk Outlines and then some of his fun flexing stuff like The Hunger, Illest of Our Time, and Animal Flow. I'm sure you'll get plenty more recommends from other RENegades. I can't wait to see what you think. I think that as a tonal contrast to this video, and as a showcase of Ren's range, you should watch his live street performance with his old band The Big Push - Shot The sheriff/Road to Zion/hip-hop. It's the video where's he is wearing red suspenders.
As a metalhead whose favorite genre is black metal when I discovered Ren I was fucking floored. Ive been listening to him for 2 years now and he just keeps impressing me. This style of song he calls Bardcore which is very fitting. What a great reaction and hopefully more to come

Both Hi Ren and The Tales are live performances. He is just using a lapel mic, plus the mic on the camera. It's just very compressed and has a lot of post-production to sound great. If you pump the volume to the max, you can see all the noise typical of a live performance and of compressed mics.

Ren is a special guy and all of his music is absolutely mind blowing His story telling is unreal and you will have a lot of fun diving into his musical career. Just one more thing he has a band called the big push that does mash ups of various songs and his cover of I shot the sherif is probably the best I’ve ever heard.
I'm sure others have mentioned that he is about %95 self taught on all instruments (Piano, Guitar, mixing, scratching, drums, bass, etc.) Enjoy this ride... it'll change your life.

Awesomeness, dude! Great reaction! So far, you’ve been on the exact same journey that I went down. I first saw Hi Ren, which blew my mind, then I went to the tales of Jenny and Screech. The next one I watched, was a busking video of his performance with his old band, The Big Push, with their mashup of I shot the sheriff/Road to Zion/hip-hop. After seeing that last video I just mentioned, I was completely hooked. The guy can literally do it all. That was over a year and a half ago, and I haven’t come out of the rabbit hole since.
Ren is a modern day bard painting such vivid imagery with his storytelling that it pulls you in and forces you to keep watching - even when it gets physically uncomfortable during Violet’s Tale. And Ren uses this ability to shed light on far too real issues in the world. Ren is special. Anyway great reaction! Now you get to wait in eager anticipation with the rest of us, cause Ren has said that he and his cinematographer Sam have plans to film a pilot to pitch to Netflix at some point. It was originally going to be while Ren is back in the UK after finished treatments in Canada and before moving to the US, but then he accidentally went and made an album that wasn’t planned 😅 All we know is that it will be in the same raw style as this trilogy, but that is enough for me to say that if Netflix doesn’t give Ren his own show, they are fools 😂 Also I think that after this emotional reaction, it’s a good time to get into something less heavy and see Ren really flex his rap and producer skills with something like The Hunger, Illest of Our Time, or Power. Whatever you choose though I just hope you continue down the rabbit hole ❤️🐰🕳️
Oh BTW in case no one has told you already after your reaction to Hi Ren, yes, Ren is neurodivergent. He has ADHD (which he has turned into a superpower by obsessing over music e.g. learning instruments through slowing down RU-vid videos or practicing the same few bars over and over until he can go into some insane double or triple time rapping). But if that wasn’t already enough to make him a very empathetic person, being chronically ill and stuck in bed for years has certainly had an impact. Ren understands pain and darkness better than most and it makes him capable of portraying it perfectly in his storytelling. Also as a little side note, you can clearly see his fidget/spinning rings in the video for Money Game 3 (though I highly recommend checking out 1 and 2 first) when he is playing piano at the beginning. I have my doubts that they help much though cause I get the feeling that the only thing that can calm and focus Ren’s thoughts is creating music or at least having an instrument in his hands 😂
I think you were yawning when Ren said "I'm just a bit tired" Your eyes lit up when you connected with the irony of the moment. If your Ren journey has just begun, I'll be back to enjoy the reactions to a treasure.

One of if not the best reaction to this song (or series of songs) You’re right each tale was each a one shot video. Oh and for the most part Ren is self taught. Hell he started rapping because he was looking for a rap artist in Wales to rap over his beats and couldn’t find one. Got a new sub from me. Keep it up. You’ll eventually see the full range Ren has and be even more blown away. He can literally do everything.

2nd time watching your channel and you sir articulated very well despite a few beers. I heard you but I could also feel your emotions. At the same time I was also feeling Ren convey the horrors of Violets abuse and it brings me to tears each time. He definitely draws us into the character because he really cares about human beings. May I suggest listening to his "One Million Subscriber" speech to get some more insight to Ren's character. It's a 5 minute love & respect dialog straight from his heart.
