He came to my university on Thursday and unfortunately I couldn't go to his concert the next day )': But I had the opportunity to interview him the day before for our school newspaper. He was very humble and expressive when he was talking. Really a great guy to meet :)

A nice display cabinet over what could be done with a counter bass if you posses some creative imagination. Renaud has just that and could be said to have reinvented the instrument, suddenly it became multipurpose. We are talking about one of the greater musicians on the planet. #renaudgarcia

I play the double bass in a musical school in Poland. first time when i heared Legendes it was exactly that what i was thinking about. i always thought i dont need to be very good teoretically because to make a song i need couple sounds in good harmonic, but that what mister Garcia-Fons is doing needs a very very good technic and somethimes its so fast. thank you very much for this music. i have some ideas and maybe one day i will show you this project. jackthecase
he is playing a 5 string bass. that last string is the smaller addition. im not sure if he is in solo tuning or standard, which would make a difference in the sound.
I wonder if the video editor intended to cut away from Renaud Garcia Fons at the exact moment when I most wanted to watch him. How frustrating not to be able to watch his left hand when he starts going crazy at 4:15!
It appears that Renaud is performing at the International Society of Bassist convention in Oklahoma in June. Does anybody know if he's doing any other gigs in the U.S.?
