New Mégane R.S. Trophy-R was built to break records, combining Renault's passion for motorsport, technology and fun into one exciting driving package. True to its genes, New Mégane R.S. Trophy-R - driven by Laurent Hurgon - set a new Nürburgring Nordschleife record of 7’40’’100 for the lap of 20.600 km (7’45’’389 for the full official lap of 20.832 km, in line with new 2019 Nürburgring rules). Challenges always remain a part of the R.S. Spirit that keeps driving us forward.

La Mégane R.S. Trophy-R a été créée pour battre les records. Elle combine la passion de Renault pour le sport automobile, la technologie et le fun en un ensemble exaltant à piloter. Fidèle à ses gènes, la nouvelle R.S. Trophy-R pilotée par Laurent Hurgon a battu son propre chrono, pour établir un nouveau record du tour du Nürburgring en véhicule à traction de 7’40’’100 pour le circuit de 20,600km (7’45’’389 pour le circuit complet de 20.832 km, nouvelle règle du Nürburgring en 2019). Le challenge de Hurgon en 2014 est maintenant derrière nous, mais il restera à jamais dans les mémoires comme un exemple majeur du R.S. Spirit qui ne cesse de nous inspirer.

I had a 2006 Renault Clio Sport back in the days. I took it countless trackdays. This car was a giant killer. It's poise and handling dynamics, and reliability are beyond description.

Sans les roue directrices dommage...mais 1.8vs 2.0. 300 vs 320ch, boite manuel aussi dommage bridé à 400nm au lieu de 420. Mais du coup il y en a vraiment pour tout les goûts, sur petit circuit et col de montagne la trophy 300 edc est imbattables et maintenant il y a la version pour les circuits rapide !!! Maxiimal 68 nan mais 320 ou 300 cv c’est totalement théorique, car les fk8 font au banc quasi 340. La Mégane doit sûrement faire presque autant (notamment pour l’occasion ;) ). De plus elle est plus légère. Mais ça tu ne le précise pas. Et les roues directrices ca sert pas à grand chose sur circuit en grosse attaque, depuis les décennies ou ça existe, elles auraient été adoptées dans le cas contraire. Mais sinon sacrément fort pour coller 2 sec à la type r. Bon l’année pro elle se fera re-dépasser.😂

I love French cars and specially Renault Sport. I had a 2007 Renault Clio Sports. I took to to dozens and dozens of track days. Great memories.I don't have to tell you how I trashed some other cars on the circuit four and five times its price.

The Japanese way of tuning prefers agility over pretty much everything else (Although the FK8 and even Meganes definitely won't be as oversteery as proper tuner builds)

Amazing Renault!!! I have a Clio 3 from 2008 and it still drives like a new car. And as a young driver with a sporty drive I have to say this isn't possible other cars on this price level. I always believed in your experiences of formula one and in your amazing car quality. You're an amazing and highly underrated brand. I will buy Renault for the rest of my life! But you have to invest more in strong (with more power!!!), good looking (design costs not much!!!) and confortable (smoother bumpers and optical better interior!!!) electric street cars, or other brands will overtake you in this area. Even if you already produced electric cars for some years, I think it is dangerous to slow down on this section. You have to show what Renault really is able to do. Greets from germany ;-)

Renault is not so underrated, it's the 2nd best seller in Europe and the #1 in France, not bad. On social network, the brand is pretty popular but there is a lot of troll against Renault products. Renault have to improve the quality of the interiors. Regarding the new Clio 5, they step up the game with a good quality for the segment, better than the Polo or the new Peugeot 208, so it's encouraging for the future Renault models coming. And about electric you know, Renault is leader in Europe with the Zoé and with the Leaf of the partner Nissan. ;)

In 2017, Honda brought the Civic Type R to the North Course (20.832km per lap) of the Nürburgring, Germany, and made a time attack. As a result, the lap time of 7 minutes 43 seconds 80 was recorded, and the FF model fastest lap was updated. Renault has already attacked the Nürburgring North Course with a prototype vehicle of the new Mégane RS Trophy R. This year, track officials started regulating lap times themselves, and they've mandated that a lap time starts and ends at the start-finish line, just as it would anywhere else. Using the old timing method-same as Honda did with Civic Type R in 2017-the Mégane R.S. Trophy-R ran a 7:40.1 (12.8 MILES LAP)....UNDER THE Nürbugring's regulations, the Mégane set a 7:45.399. Confusing? Absolutely. But what's easy to understand is that the Mégane R.S. Trophy-R is a really quick car. It has the same 300-hp 1.8-liter turbo four-cylinder as the Mégane R.S. Trophy, but Renault Sport says the Trophy-R is up to 286 pounds lighter than the standard Trophy. Paradoxalement et majoritairement, ce sont des français qui crachent sur une marque de leur propre pays, un non sens total ! Renault Sport est une fierté nationale, je suis Belge, j'ai eu quelques voitures de la gamme RS, Clio Williams, 2 Clio 16V, Clio RS phase 1, Clio Red Bull Racing RB7, Clio 4 RS Trophy etc... on ne doit pas apprendre à Renault Sport à faire de bonnes et vraies voitures de sport, ils ont des heures de piste avec eux, bien plus que certains constructeurs d'ailleurs !

@@tony171080 gasoil....incompatible avec sportive😉j ai une Mégane coupé de 1999 1.6 16v 110 cv 1060 kgs avec 250000 au compteur ,20 ans que je roule avec sans me lassé ,et plus d un est surpris avec leurs allemandes de 150cv et 1500 kgs sur la balance de ce p tit coupé qui rage à 3700trs/mins😋😎

I love my Trophy-R. But I hate the S007 RS tyres. They are unpredictable and dangerous when cold. They need temperature to perform like a Cup 2 tyre, but they perform like a PS4S. They are half a second slower than Cup 2 tyres on a 50 second track and pretty much dead-even as a PS4S on track. I love the PS4S and I get that Renault probably had a deal with Bridgestone, but after all the effort and money they put into the Trophy-R I don't get why they didn't make faster tyres available at least as an option. Besides, they could have easily shaved off a good 4 seconds of that Nordschleife time with faster tyres. Kind of puzzling.

PDK/Dual clutch are for slack jawed morons and allow manufacturers to cheat. If you don't have the skill and can't heel and toe you likely don't have the coordination for high speed cornering. Manual takes skill.

Le moteur s’essouffle dans les derniers rapports, c’est dommage. Renault aurait pu rajouter au moins la possibilité de prendre en option l’augmentation de puissance avec une boite adéquate et meme l’ajout d’un differentiel. C’est pas comme si vous avez jamais creer une citadine avec un vr6 en position centrale arriere. Ou avoir monté un v10 de f1 dans un monospace familial...

I wish I could know what tires did they used, if the normal ones from factory or some semi slicks or even full race tyres. Because we all know that the Honda did it with normal stock tyres and everything else was stock but we don't know nothing from renault but still a good lap.

Le record de la Civic Type R n’est pas réellement de 7’43 car elle n’était pas avec pneus d’origines et elle était monté avec un arceau non présent lors de la vente du véhicule donc je pense qu’elle ferait a peine mieux que la Megane 3 RS trophy R.

@@KeptiKronikaz on s'en branle, pneus ou pas, je table sur un 60k euros vu le matos. déjà vu les disques ça semble du céramique. ce qui est complètement ridicule pour une caisse de 300cv. il y de l'ohlins, donc encore un gros billet. t'as de l'akra donc encore un autre. etc. alors ouais c'est sympa sur le papier, ça fait chéros les secondes. ils auraient mieux fait de foutre des amortos pilotés. un chrono m'est égal j'achète pas une caisse pour ça. par contre, de là à dire que la civic ferrait à peine mieux que la mégane 3 c'est de la pipe. elle était plus récente, plus puissante, basta. maintenant je pense qu'une 'trophy' lambda, se hisse au niveau de la civic, la type R c'est beau, ça brille, mais c'est hors de prix pour une traction. on en reparlera du prix. moi je le sens comme ça. suffit de voir l'ancienne génération. on était déjà sur du 45k. là c'est même pas le prix d'une trophy 4.

Il y a une clientèle sur les vehicules RS de collection comme ça donc Je pense qu’ils n’auront aucun mal à liquider leurs stocks. Ça donne une bonne image de Renault sport car ils prouvent leur savoir faire en soulignant leur temps sur le Nurb. Mais J’aime pas cette volonté de toujours descendre Renault Sport quoi qu’ils fassent. Moi Je suis content en tout cas que RS reprenne son trône, Je n’aurai pas l’argent de me la payer mais je m’en fiche Je suis fier quand même.
