And he cleans some really big money stuff from Range Rover SVRs to rare JDM stuff to nearly new top end Porsches... out of all his videos he's done I prefer the ones he did on a K11 Micra and a mk4 Fiesta! Same for KGF cars, he sells some exotic stuff but seeing say an immaculate mk2 base model Vauxhall cavalier literally gets my attention twice as much!
20yrs old small family car with an 1.6i 4cyl engine and still sounds better than today vacuum cleaners and more fun to drive no grip unstable suspension loud engines feels like you're driving very fast :D
I still drive this car and in 2021, there is no corrosion anywhere the engine is 1.6 107hp works perfectly, the climate cools down great, the engine is still quite fast and does not consume oil as when it was a very satisfied bravo renault megane.
Renault Megane Mk.1 is not just the best car Renault ever made, it is one of the very few best cars in the world. As you said, it has a very good body, strong, spacious, the car pulls very nice, engines are bulletproof and consume little fuel.
@@adrianherrera7515 nah, i still thinks Megane 1 is better. I personally own Megane 1 Hatchback with 1.9 tdi diesel engine (72KW) in manual right now, and its a great car. Acceleration is preety great for a family car (can hit 50km/h in under 3.5 sec. from my experience, and 100 in about 10 sec.). It also sounds preety good and its also quite loud if you rew it to maximum. Its very easy to drive, and from my experience also very safe to drive (for sure safer than my Peugeot 307 cc, which has a big ass blindspot in the front when i drive through curves). My only problem with it is the fact it doesn't have bluetooth nor CD, so i can't really play my own songs in the radio, and the fact that the roof window and the trunk can't be oppened (gonna buy another megane for spare parts, so these problems should be ressolved in the future). Ups and downs of the car +Very easy to drive +Great engine. @@TADAMAT-CZ Tadamat, buy yourself a Roidmi Music bluetooth player. It is the best device out there. It costs like 25 - 30 €. You insert it in the cigarette slot. The stick is small and it looks as it is from the factory there. Also, if you keep Bluetooth on, it connects automatically everytime you start the car. And you can put RU-vid music, player music etc. I had Megane mk1 1.9 dCi sedan. Best car in the world. Fast, beautiful design, mine was a indigo blue, purple windscreen from factory and 6 speakers. Have you seen how huuge the tweeters are? They sure won't build such car again. The F9Q 732 was a great engine. I had a very bad crash with the car. I hit a lorry with 70 km/h head on. Only small bruises I had, thank God and Holy Maria.
I bought a brand new one hatchback in 2000, blue metalic paint. 1.4 16 v. I reached 225 kmh in a descent at the runway and did the fast right handed flat out. Speed dropped to 210 and remained there at following leveled straight. I was stunned. Revs up to 6500 fantastic sound. I had it for 8 years and it still looked brand new in and out. Super comfortable as well with full extras. 😊 Amazing channel you've got a new sub. PS: I also love watches.
I have an old megane sedan 16 16v 300000kms and still a good and confortable daily car , and the parts are not expensive , this engine is really smoothy or punchy if you press the pedal !
This 1.6 16V was the best engine of its category. Good performances and consum, pretty sound and no endemic breakdowns made of this engine one of the best-selling cars, at least in my country, Spain. Good test, thanks for the ride!!!

@@georgehopkins I got pretty much the same car as the one in video, it's not meant to be fast and it's not but it's not painfully slow either and considering I never had any issues with it in 12 years it's amazing. Didn't even have to replace the clutch plate after almost 300k kilometres (no slipping or anyting like that yet, works as intented). The 1.6 is one hell of an engine in clio it's even better since it's a lot lighter car and it has shorter wheel base so it could even be used for auto cross.
i have the coupe 1.4 16V. I was about to sell it 10 years ago, and i thank God i did not. This car is so fun to drive. Smooth acceleration, good grip, very willing engine, no hesitation and no flat spots, and very nice handling. On this April it will become 21 years old, and the engine shows no sign of wear! no oil consumption! Great car the megane.
@@refeeance This specific model (wagon) was never sold here in this generation, but the next one was. I think prices are around half of that, maybe more, depending on model-year, engine, trim, etc. Still, with a 178-EUR minimum wage, it's a tough job to buy anything. ._.
I picked up a pretty decent 2006 mk2 Megane Grandtour for £350 Sterling. It does have some problems but ultimately it starts, drives well and is incredibly comfy! Bargain machine!

I've owned 90s to 2018 Renaults and while say the mid to late 2000 stuff can have annoying electrical issues (step forward, mk2 megane electric window control modules in the doors and corrosion on the pins to the door wiring plugs between the door and pillar) they're some of the most reliable stuff out there. I never considered if any of said renaults would start or not, just turn the key/press the button and off they'd go.

neglected? Dude, this sounds and looks like brand new. Mine (BA11) with same engine, has waay more play in gear selector, and quite noisy suspension, with only 260.000km. Agree on the awesome, because of the cheap maintenance and fun on throttle responce, but the timing sprocket is keyless, which leads to troubles if you dont replace aux belt pulley. And coil plugs are damn notorious.
The model after this one was my first car. It was soo badd, but the engine had soo much character i loved it . Still some greate midnight back seats memory
My father also has a classic Renault Megane, it runs well, it doesn't consume much, it's good. These types of cars were gimmicks when they were new on the market. They are still good today.

I have the same engine in hatchback with 250.000 kms works like a charm, the Megane II not as good as this not even with the same engine. When will you trying out some hydropneumatic Citroens? I`m really interested what those do under your hands :)
I have/had renault, it is just so horrible. 10 years, like 10 faults which left me to road.Overall about 2000 euros for fixes. It is a good car, when it works. But when it doesn't, pain in the ass. Always some fuel feed problems. :)
I've one of these, but the sedan version. 1.6, 16 valve... one of the best Renault sold in Colombia. Reliable, comfortable, economic, good sound engine (better than the used in the video).

My dad (partly me) has this car, a station wagon just like this one. It is far ahead of its competitors in terms of handling, engine, comfort and maintenance costs.But if we look at it from a young person's perspective: It is not a good car because it is too slow and heavy, the 1.6 engine is at the limit of the power to lift this car, and the 2.0 engine consumes a lot of gasoline.The gear shifts are very long and the gear itself is long the gear is never stable, so using it with one hand is torture. When you are stuck in traffic, sometimes when a fast gear is shifted, it does not shift into gear. Of course, this may be related to my car, I don't know, but the gear itself and its shifts are a complete torture.When you drive this car you have to be just like this car, slow and sure.Don't forget that the clutch is too far behind at the engagement point, which can cause minor accidents, especially when starting on a hill or reversing while parking on a hill. Add to this the situation of not shifting into gear that I just mentioned.It's a bit of a difficult car, so you need to practice shifting and clutching in an area closed to traffic, especially on hills. I had 2 Megane Coupé, manual then auto gearbox with the same 1.6 16V engine. A very good car indeed. Very well built, robust and reliable, comfortable, well equipped (the second one even had a sat nav), great to drive both in the city and on longer distances. And really nice looking for a car this size (less then 4 meters long).
ohh i still got my 96 1,6 8v M.t n drives perfect, havent had a break down yet, believe me. cornering road handling ,smothness design beats many cars. Now im planing to fit a 1.2 tirbo from clio, same engine mount location,just fit in ,as for ecu remove immo n done. 15 inch wheel with 2mm lowerng spring and rear torsion lowered. 1 week job.
