Hello from Romania! I currently own a clio 3 rs 197, and was thinking about changing it to either a clio rs edc, or a megane 4 gt. Do you have any opinions regarding this? Did that clio that you were racing was at full power? Are they similar in any way regarding the power delivery? I would appreciate your answers. Thanks, Vladimir.
Hello Vladimir :) The Clio 3 RS is a great car and i driven quite a few when i worked for Renault here in Australia. The choice is yours really to make. The Clio 4 RS and the Megane GT are definately a great option. The Clio 4 is more nimble and lighter with similar power. The Megane being heaver and more refined with smoother power delivery but i think the chassis is not a raw as the Clio RS. This Clio in the video is a phase 1 so 200hp and 240nm of torque. The Megane GT is 205hp with 280nm of torque. The cars are very close in the real world when you put them to the test especially on the move. There is not much in it. But it also comes down to driver ability and how much you are comfortable to push your car to it's limits. Tyres and brakes can make a huge difference too and track experience. I have had huge competition twice with a friend of mine who has a Clio RS 220 Trophy and i have beaten him in my Megane with the times. When in fact his car should be faster. But it is very interesting and fun experimenting. Regards Greg
@@GLKCARSCENE understood. So, to make it short, clio rs edc will be more appropiate as a feeling to what the 197 is. But, the megane gt and clio 4 have similiar performances, with clio giving you more feeling about the road. Did i get it right?
@@GLKCARSCENE i read loads of gearbox problems, the clutch is broken etc. what is ur build month and year ? and u have a WOOP sound from 3to 4 gear ? . use translate for this german site if ur intrested www.megane4-forum.de/forum/thread/389-probleme-mit-dem-edc/?pageNo=85
@@kd2833 Yeah i have heard some people have had issues and problem with theirs. My one seems to be performing well. Normal servicing at my local Renault dealership as per normal and gearbox oil change seems to make things run smoother. I will check out those forums for sure thank you :) But in all honesty i'm not worried about this. Parts are gonna wear out over time and if you push it harder it will wear out quicker. That is normal. I also have a custom 3 inch turbo back exhaust system made locally here in Brisbane which i believe could be the first one in the world. The car is much louder when it changes gears too. Stay tuned for a full reveal in an upcoming video.
