Great video Dave, some changes since last time. I had an upholsterer over yesterday, talked through your idea, but he had done a similar one before and suggested the 3 inserts similar to what you have at 5 inches wide, he suggested storing them behind the drivers seat. Also he mentioned that the bed cushions can slide about, so he is making them with a thin plywood backing and suggesting I screw the main bench cushion onto the pullout part, then it wont move about. I just had that same toilet delivered yesterday, bargain at £62. I was going to have 2 wardrobes like you have, but decided on just one now at the bed side and full length worktop. I now also have curtains from Kiravans at a great price and got my neighbour to sew on black out material on the back. Since I couldn't fit a roof vent, I purchased Team Heko wind deflectors and a custom covers side and front window external wrap around. Now I can crack the side windows open without water or insects getting in for ventilation.. I also intend purchasing the double seat swivel plate. I'm still a long way off completion, but I'll make a van tour video when all is complete. Thanks for your help and inspiration mate. Your van looks ace. :) p.s. Forgot to mention your bed extension is genious.

Thanks mate. Good to hear the plans for your van. Kiravans curtains are so much cheaper than vanx and hell of a lot easier to fit and neater with the prebent rails, wish id thought about sewing blackout material on them. I bought a set of each to decide which I liked best but went with the VanX ones due to them being blackouts. I intend making some insect screens for the front windows but not got around to that yet. Look forward to seeing your van tour when i'ts all complete, sounding good so far. Atb Dave

Excellent innovation here, really smart 👍 but it makes me glad I had a high roof custom which enabled me to build a full sized raised bed meaning I have full access to everything Inc kitchen when the bed is extended. For me this was crucial to the livability. You've inspired me to make a video....

Thanks for the kind words. Yep a high top would deffo be nice for that. I had to weigh up drivability for mine as this is my daily driver. I needed it to be able to park in most carparks and a lot of the ones around here are height restricted.😩 Deffo make a video I would be very interested to see your van too. Atb Dave

@h3r34thebanter - hello mate, checked into your channel for a second wave of inspiration to get my van back on the road. Back in 2020 I set out on building a SWB Vivaro pop top and your video served as pretty significant inspiration layout wise. Just wanted to say cheers and finding that you’ve done an update since I last saw it, has given me the kick to get mine back on the road (mechanical issues) Top man - fantastic ingenuity and execution. HI Dave, another great video and good to see the changes. Not seen the layout anywhere else. Absolutely love it. Planning the same for my van. Any chance doing a video for the bed making mate. There is few out there in the youtube but looking for one like yours where you can lift it to access the storage. Many thanks

Thanks mate. Unfortunately I'm pretty busy at the moment so won't have time to do a video on the bed in the very near future. Thanks. The cooker is a generic chinese made double burner cartridge stove. I bought it on ebay, unfortunately the price has shot up from the £24 I paid to between £60-70 at the moment. I'm not sure if that is due to covid or what, kinda hoping they come down in price again as I want to buy another single stove and I used to be able to get those for £8, currently lucky to get one for less than £25. You’re a genius! Fantastic build. Love the thought and how it’s practical for you. Did you buy your van brand new? Any tips on buying a van to convert?

Thanks. Glad you like it. Yes I bought the van brand new as I tend to keep vehicles a long time and there wasn't a huge difference in price between this and a 4 year old one.SO I Can't really offer any advice on buying a van except make sure its not gonna fall apart in a couple of years as its a lot of time and money invested. @@chrisgibson5803 Aye it can be deceptive, however I found Renaults pricing to be very clear. I got a few options fitted as well so that swung it for me. Yep Transit Customs are nice vans. 👍Atb Dave

Nice to see the extensions on the bed it’s a mod I thought you’d do. Where did you get the double ring cooker there rarer than hens teeth only one i can find is £70

Thanks. Yes the bed extension is handy when I have company but isn't needed all the time so its nice to have the option. Aye Ive seen the price of the double burners at the moment, even the singles shot up in price at the start of the recent panic. I got it on ebay and at the time I think it was £24, shocking difference to the current price. Crazy money. Thanks for watching. Atb Dave
