In this video we take a look at the new Renault Zoe 50kWh EV. The Renault Zoe was formerly the most affordable EV when coupled with the battery leasing option provided by Renault. The Zoe has moved on a long way from its predecessor and battery leasing on the Zoe is no longer an option.
The latest Zoe ZE50 comes with a number of new features over its predecessor. Our founder Richard Norris gives us his thoughts and opinions on the new Zoe, and its new features, based on his experience, and the experience from our customers to help you determine whether this might be the right electric car for you.
We have an extensive range of Renault Zoes available to view on the forecourt.
Please call to book an appointment to view and test drive this great Electric Car.

Good review, I’ve had a Zoe since last August and am very pleased with it. Summer range I was getting 210 miles. Definitely recommended them, I was a first time EV user

Renault seriously need to address some safety issues on this model EV after recent Euro NCAP tests - very poor result.

Very useful clear efficient review and small history of the Zoe. Nice intermingling of pictures from the older model. Definitely will subscribe.

It always amuses me when people refer to 15" wheels as being small, or "dinky" ... I remember when 13" wheels was the norm, and 15" were considered large ...

Things are moving forwards so quickly! Thanks for watching 🙂

May I add that 15'' wheels are also more comfortable than taller ones : that's why I chose them for my new ZOE who's got to drive me to the office, 50km away... every day. ;-)

yeah cos in 2021 your car having a crashy ride is 'sporty' for some reason lol. Im not in the sport of feeling every crack in the road

I got my Iconic Rapid Charge (CCS included) for £22999, two weeks ago. This was a pre-registered version. A number were available across a few dealers, so that was so much more affordable than list price and I part-ex'd the old car too to add to the bargain. So if you shop around these will be competitive.

Likewise they come up used where you can save further still 🙂

@@DriveGreen You are Welcome, it is good to see an honest non biased review giving the actual facts. I myself drive a 63 Reg Zoe Expression which I purchased second hand in 2015 and it is amazing. It has saved me a fortune and has not restricted where I drive. Just need to do a bit of forward planning. But it's a great car. I would love to upgrade but at the moment I can not afford to.

My first ev was a 22kwh Zoe with owned battery 2016 reg in iceberg blue. Smashing car but I moved on to a Kia Soul 30kwh 2018 reg which I like more. I hope my servicing experience with Kia will be better than it was with Renault.
@DriveGreen
@DriveGreen 3 года назад
We love the Kia Soul’s, did you have issues with Renault Servicing then?

@@DriveGreen I lost the car for 3 weeks with a red fault code and first the dealer couldn't seem to diagnose the problem and then couldn't get the parts. Meanwhile under warranty I got a huge Korean diesel "hearse" which rather blew my green aspirations! Had to go over to Swindon for servicing (from Witney) as no dealership in Oxford- given low servicing requirements of ev's the charges were high.

Ahh that is a shame to hear, our local Renault dealer has been pretty good thankfully.

This was a great review. So I may have missed it - what is the real world range of the GT line in the summer as I am thinking about hiring one later this month?
@DriveGreen
@DriveGreen 3 года назад
Thank you! It will be heavily dependant on your driving style still, but regardless you should be good for 170 miles quite comfortably 🙂

Suppose it's a NICE car then 😀 - have the GT Line 135 rapid change, nice little runaround. Never used the fast charging as of yet, have only charged it at home and use it for journeys under 100 miles round-trip (I have a heavy foot 😬).
@DriveGreen
@DriveGreen 3 года назад
Ahh great! This is what a lot of people struggle to understand with range. Most people don’t need to public charge and can get away with charging over night, so you always wake up with a full range! 🙂 Great to hear the car is working well for you 👍🏻

Mini Cooper=YES, Kia Soul=YES , BMW I3=YES, VW ID3=YES , Zoe=NO!! ==> 0 point in CRASH-TEST Euro NCAP!! And boring design!

For goodness sake this is a city car and yet Renault want £30,000. No height adjustment on front seats. Front seat head restraints can’t be removed and that just the beginning. On some trim levels there is no CCS fast charging socket. If you need this it’s a further £1,000 to the on the road price. Other manufacturers fit CCS as standard on all trim levels. The only reason for the high price tag of this EV Zoe is the fully charged mileage range which is 240 miles but I guess this figure is on a hot summers day at least 22degrees c. Come the winter don’t think you will achieve anything like that, probably around 160 when the air temperature is 5 degrees or below. Can’t believe Renault has the audacity to put a £30,000 price tag on a city car, very disappointing.
