I observed my grandparents rendering lard years ago...I recall it was an all day thing and I was told stay away cause of the danger of getting scalded. Great video ladies! Sending love and blessings your way💖🙏🏻

I’ve just watched about 7 videos from various people and your the first to use baking soda !!! And May I ask your ideas on keeping it shelf stable vs the so called canning of it … does one or the other last longer or is it just having the impurities out of it !! Loved watching thank you ! And I’m definitely gonna do this crackling cornbread

We always use baking soda. Store in like any other canned food in a cool place out of the sun. Never had any issues with it going bad. We use most ours up with a year to year and a half.

If I am mixing lard, lamp oil, and turpentine together do you measure or just kinda eyeball it?
