This took place in Paris, France in 1964 and not at PJ's USA at all. Trini was starring at "The Olympia " music hall prior and same month as the Beatles. He had a great success there and the Beatles were a bit jealous and made fun of him. It took time for the Beatles to be huge in France.
For me Trini Lopez is the greatest Latin singer that ever lived on Earth . I grow up listening to his music, by buying a the ever first record LP '' The Love Album of Trini Lopez '' then life went for me , but Trini was my Idol at the first music note that I have listen too, his voice and his swinging guitar was what I needed to stay a clean boy and after my army term in Germany, I have had the chance to see Trini Live , the 19th of april in Montréal and I went to his dressing room, I meet also the the rest of the combo of Trini. He autographed his own picture of the fan club that I had bring with me, I even cryded of emotion, and he gentely discretely hug me few second , so I could regain my emotion, . I was at that time 33 years old ! imagine that my dream came trought to meet my Idol , that moment I will never forget and allways I will cherish his music. I have the greatest LPs collection from over all part of the world of Trini Lopez, books, photos, article, DVD, CD 45 RPM, 45 RPM format 33 1/3 promotionnal records, audio cassette 4 tracks 8 tracks and even those real tape album that too I have in my collection. Well now I am a old adult and once every day I still play Trini Lopez and I have the incredible prestation of Trini, that at the time was going be the '' Trini Lopez Show ''' on VHS tape '' wich I have re-recorded in stereo this rare prestation to a CD and DVD that Trini have and his personnal secretary in the person of '' Oralee Walker '' and my late friend, William '' Bill '' Lutters, the greatest fans of Trini in U.S.A., as for myself I am his greatest fan from Québec City Canada Viva Trini Lopez, for a exemple of hosnesty, gifted musician, and all he done for all the young people he was simply a wonderful gentleman to spoke with and this artist never smoke or drinked alcohol, he allways took care of his person , eat well and evewn played tenis with Elvis Presley !
Obrigado ÍDOLO POR SEU TALENTO E SUA OBRA.
Trini Lopez was a mentor and someone I admired as a young guitar player. His rhythm playing was tight and his vocals were smooth and his band always supported him in a very stylistic way. Trini was an influence on me and I am grateful. I wore out my vinyl copy of Trini Lopez Live at P J's !
@ Blackie James. I would definitely say Trini was underrated . His Gibson now called the “ Trini Lopez “ Gibson is as iconic as Clapton’s “ Blackie” I IMHO .
@@dagnabbit6187 Hi Dag, did you know that TRINI 's guitar was sold at the auction 5/1/21 among many other items ---price: $22,000...I took a big interest in that auction........why?I was a lady and ve of his for 31 years here in Palm Springs,Ca...thank you for your kind words!
His passing away’s such a great loss. Remember that Trini is mostly known for his great hit If I Had A Hammer but he’s got “MORE” than 50 hits that everyone does know but it’s like always: the ‘old’ but forgotten-ones. Luckely I’ve got nearly everything of Trini Lopez even tracks from an American and Japan release which was never available in Europe so I know what I’m speaking about. Thanks for the memories Trini.......
My dear idol in action! Trini was and is my idol since 1964 when I was 14 years old...I learned to play guitar with his records and I have a Gibson Barney Kessel guitar like this and also a Gibson Trini Lopez... Rest in Peace my eternal idol...Adiós amigo...
Everybody admire and prasing him so much that i don't know how to say more since all the wonderful words were said to our LEGENDARY MAN ♥️♥️♥️ THE ONLY WORDS I'LL SAY IS!!! THERE'S ONLY ONE ICON, LEGENDARY, GREAT MAN... 💋 T. R. I. N. I. L. O. P. E. Z.... 111 REST IN PEACE 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏
Back then we were still innocent about the ways of the world. Music was sweet, words were kind, performers like him were so unpretentious. Thanks for the memories, Triny.
I loved Trini Lopez music all my life his music makes a person feel good and happy now that he has passed he will be missed but he will never be forgotten to me is music will continue to play on and when his music plays in my house people will know the name Trini Lopez forever
Curtis, Just what we need now. Trini Lopez and his trio were the real deal...a great combination of rock, pop, folk and Latin sounds. Nobody else ever did quite like Trini. Thank you for sharing this great video. RIP Trini.
¡EL MUY RÍTMICO TRINIDAD LÓPEZ, THE U.S. HIJO DE MEXICANOS, CREADOR DE UN ESTILO MUY IMITADO PERO JAMÁS IGUALADO, DE UNA SIMPATÍA Y UNA GRAN PERSONALIDAD , EXCELENTE CANTANTE! ¡ÉL FUE UNO DE LOS QUE ME INSPIRÓ PARA CANTAR TODA MI VIDA !¡ TE VOY A RECORDAR SIEMPRE, SOS INOLVIDABLE POR TUS CANCIONES Y TU RITMO INMORTAL, GRACIAS, DIOS TE BENDIGA, QUERIDO TRINI....!!! Trini Lopez like Johnny Rivers first commercial successful Records were live from L.A.clubs with similar backup and instrumentation they both had great success despite the fact that it was the birth of the British invasion.
Saw Trini in SF IN 1964. Celebrating my & then bf's 1 yr anniversary. At that time Carol Doda was performing topless in the neighborhood. I wore a red mohair dress, and about 12 of us were seated in front. I guess he spotted me, and kept focusing on me--singing to me. My then boyfriend began to put his head between Trini and me....which got a laugh. Good times!
Love, love the bass player as he dances to the music. I know he has probably played it a thousand times, but him showing he is into the music pulls the audience in as well; then everyone has a good time! Wheeeeeew!!!!

To be more exact, his music is SURF which is a genre after rock. Greetings. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_9SkV3XEaFU.html *MOVIN' N' GROOVIN'* Surf Guitar cover by *Duane💙Eddy*
Quel fantastique!
Yeah,,I remember it well, this man was almost as populair as The Beatles during '63-'64. I nagged my parents constantly for one of his singles.By '65 his party was over though. Anyway...what's that one lady>7:50
This is definitely recorded in France! I did speak it Well, can still read it and generally understood it Forty years after learning it. Very little practice so I’ve lost a lot. Other than a few trips to Canada in the 80’s
@@davidlogansr8007 recorded for french TV in TV studio. Trini Lopez was in Paris for one month in the beginning of 1964, he was on the bill with the beatles for a one month performance at the Paris Olympia Theater
