I still like to think that sometime long ago China was really like this. Bunch of kung fu bandits and heroes doing almost super human things in random locations. Shaw Brothers mythology for life man.
YES, CHINA Was Really A Wild West Of Martial Arts, Weapons, Politics And Magic. Books like; The Water Margin and The Condor Heroes Are A Testament Of Chinese Martial Arts And Characters.
Great movie, There is a saying, Never turn your back on anyone, ESPECIALLY IF THERE OLD, never underestimated them, we should respect them, love them and treat them with kindness, but never drop your guards off.
Of course everyone in the comments gave the whole ambush away for me lol!! And it's funny how the old woman was the only person to initially hit him lol
@@andihon5968 andi hon it would be nice if Peter Kwong from Big Trouble in little China would have appeared in some of the Shaw Brothers Movies! I'm talking about Rain not Carter Wong! I like him too!

the Wu Tang collection started making movies with flashes of a fight like the Van Damme movies Arnold stupid fighting scenes just flashes of a fight Shaw Brothers kept it real there ain't no flashes of a fight this is raw kung fu
It's called Wuxia, which is equivalent to the Japanese Chanbara(sword and slash) genre and the western sword and swashbuckle genre. Bruce Lee kind of changed the martial arts cinematic landscape with his type of action movies which is why the world of Hong Kong cinema was deluged with pale imitations that were all flash but no substance after his death.
Not the only time he played one. He was the Japanese guy who got beaten up by Bruce Lee in the "No Dogs and Chinese Allowed" scene in The Chinese Connection.
The stupidity of these movies is just embarrassing. Thr fight scenes are absurd. No one fights like that. One should be able to have some suspension of disbelief but it has to be plausible. There is no nexus to any reality. Acting is atrocious. Dialogue is moronic. Zero budget make up. Sound effects are laughable. But the Shaw Brothers cranked them out for illiterate farmers and made a ton of money.
Why do all the English dub actors have to give the characters an extremely nasally voice? They sound like the magician from the Rankin and Bass, Frosty the Snowman cartoon. And start dialogue with random interjections like, "Hah." and "Hmph"? Also do you notice how in the old 70's chop socky kung fu movies that the bad guys would laugh mockingly to the hero? What's with that?
