There was a new star in the Bollywood skies - and it took just one film to showcase her talent. Parineeta.
In person Vidya Balan was exactly as I had hoped she’d be - without artifice… casually radiant.. totally engaging.
We are good friends today and I find her to be one of the rare people who is unspoilt by her success - and generous in her appreciation of others.

Vidya Balan sounded so dignified and poised at such an early stage of her career - something that isn't very prominent with today's new entries in the industry. I can't think of another actress in Bollywood today that speaks with as much intelligence and clarity as Vidya does. This woman is obviously the full package - beauty, brains, talent and heart.

Back then actresses had this aura about them,they looked like angels and behaved like one too,even the interviewer ,now everyone has similar style makeup and they look more like plastic dolls

I have watched Parineeta after 16 yrs.bt must say this this is s masterpiece.I cannot explain in words the joy this film has created in me.Her character Lolita and the way she carried it is out of the world.

I can totally relate to the last 'faith' perception and overall outlook of vidya. Absolutely faith can move mountains. It can be actually explained, but only can be experienced. All the while I felt Vidya is singing, as her voice is like music and she was speaking from heart. It was so nice to see her talk.

She was always positive ,never resorted to unnecessary gimmicks and gossips .she presented herself so soft hearted and well informed .she never demeaned anyone not to mention her amazing hold in english language . She never instigated her guests to speak against each other unlike kj and the likes .love her a lot.

Vidya is the most genuinely beautiful woman I have ever seen. Many actors and actresses, when caught off set or after a few years of being in the business, look so washed up and miserable. Balan always ALWAYS look so radiant and I think it is the biggest shame that people were calling her ugly and fat at one point. Here in the US, my American friends are bowled over by how divinely beautiful she is.

That's the thing with life... when things go in someone's favor, all the things that people were earlier criticized for become the very things that win them appreciation. Same is with Vidya. I would never say she is ugly but ya definitely fat n highly over-rated n since its her good time people r being extra sweet n kind to her thats it. She might have had her share of miseries and bad experiences but that doesn't make someone a good actress. N people bowled over by her beauty??? really??? well..... different people, completely different tastes then I guess. PS: She is definitely not fat in this interview but ya over the years she has become ....oh well.

This is the Vidya Balan I love - full of old world charm! This is before the dirty picture and I prefer her that way. I wish she would avoid the crass and vulgar stuff like Ghanchakkar, Begham Jaan etc. It diminished some of her appeal. She really belongs to the old world cinema like Parineeta.

Simi Ji's interviews are the perfect journey into a movie star's complete personality. She is such a patient listener and makes them so comfortable just like you are talking to a shrink. It's almost therapeutic to see her show.

I want this show to come back… one of the best chat shows we had in the Indian television. Simi Madam you should reconsider restarting this show. The way you allow your guests to open up and delve deep into their mindset is absolutely brilliant as if these people are so unconscious about losing their guard. Thank you simi ji for sharing such kind of interviews to ours. I have seen a lot of interviews with celebrities but no one makes such kind of genuine show like you.
