+David Healey your talking about the Nuova Jolly Rib retube we did.I have a company here in America that can dip any fiberglass to give it that carbon fiber look.

Will removing the rub rail that way damage the tubes?

No, unless the tube is very delaminated.You will only see the glue and that will make the boat look very ugly.
