Just installed these. Thanks for the video! Really made it happen for me! One tip: drill the 9/16 holes with the drill in reverse for smoother edges without tearing of the metal. For the rubber anchors, screw in the bolts to help insert them. That way the rubber doesn't bunch up when you are pushing them through the tight fit. On the pinch seam, I used smaller drills first for pilot holes. I changed drills to progressively larger sizes that bit in to the metal and actually made progress. Then, I used the final largest size (1/4 inch).
Bought a set late 2018. The Rocky Road Outfitters version. I am not a mechanic or anything else. This took me total actual work about 2.5 hours. I had to find the unibit and also bought a motorcycle lift to hold the sliders up as I installed. Awesome product. Use a touch of oil or vaseline to get the rubber in the holes. Definitely recommend. Love Rocky Road Outfitters.
@@MrPAULONEAL any excuse to get a new toy. Right? And besides, it held them with more balance. I also used the motorcycle lift to hold up my Avid front and rear bumpers when installing.
It may be a little off topic but with the non trailhawk version what would you use as a emergency tow point? I was told not to use the screw in eyelet I bought from mopar because they claim it will rip the entire crashbar out it is mounted to and I am not sure how accurate that is if I get a light pull out of something like snow.
Thinking of getting those, just my 2 cents: I would have used a small magnet to get out those loose metal fillings from inside of the rocker panel to keep it from scratching the paint on the inside & causing rust, remember Rust never sleeps!
Have you ever installed an android or Apple CarPlay radio? Looking to install one to replace my crummy Uconnect setup which gets lost too often and doesn’t reflect ETA with real time traffic delays. I was wondering if getting one installed will mean that I lose access to my cars controls such blind spots/ early collision warnings, animated GPS navigation on my dash and car lock controls etc.

I have a 2017 Renegade and i would like to put tires with the bowky look.my tires are 215/65/17 stock but i would like the look of that jeep with the rock sliders.What sizes tires can i do.my jeep is stock but would like to start working on it now for the summer.
Any issues with rust from the holes you drilled, or did you surface prep before install? I really hate the idea of drilling into the body like that. Any issue with bending or have they done a good job sliding over rocks?
Should you be concerned about rust encroaching on the drill holes you made? Would you suggest hitting that exposed steel with some rustoleum or something before installing the inserts?
About 2 to 3 hours. Recording takes up a lot of my time when I do installs. I can spend an extra 6 hours just recording over and over it’ll I feel it’s right.
