Actually, Nightcrawler is half-demon and has blue skin due to being born from Mystique's natural mutant form, rather than having Azazel's red skin.

Actually, Nightcrawler is full mutant both Mystique and Azazel are mutants, Azazel only thinks hes a demon because their was no scientists during the biblical days to correct him.

@Toshiro1221 Almost. Kurt is actually 100% Mutant, but his dad Azazel descends from a Mutant tribe that believes they are biblical Demons, to the point where they even have their own infernal dimension. My explanation was just meant to be less convoluted😂

Dude, Thor 2 is part of the MCU, no matter what. They referenced that movie with a dark elf in a glass cage in the 1st Guardians in the Galaxy movie AND hugely shown in Avengers: Endgame. You can't skip Thor 1. It introduced thor, loki and asgard into the MCU. I'd still watch all 23 MCU films, no matter a few of them are weak. I'd still watch The Incredible Hulk (2008), Iron-Man 2, Thor (2011), Iron-Man 3, Thor 2: The Dark World, Avengers: Age of Ultron, AND Captain Marvel. at least some of them had a few ties to other MCU movies. y'all are jerks.

Nick I understand your point that rogue can’t fly or have super strength without Ms.marvel but that doesn’t mean she should be useless. Look at how the x-men evolution cartoon used her. Edit: Sorry Nate not Nick.

At least in X-Men Evolution, they didn't even bothered to include Ms. Marvel just so they can have her been put into a fucking coma and to give Rogue the fancy-ass superflight and super-strength like in the comics. Wolverine and the X-Men's version of Rogue's character is bit more debatable in my opinion.

That's what I was thinking. It doesn't matter if Rogue doesn't have Ms. Marvel's power or that she's a teenager. In the cartoon, she is both but still helps out the team and take out bad guys. Heck my 1st episode of Evolution was her taking on the freaking Juggernaut! And in the final episode of the series (spoilers ahead) she helps take down Apocalypse. So her age, flight, and super strength doesn't matter to me. What matters was that cartoon Rouge still fought and was a team player despite what she was going through.

bit of trivia.. in the scene where nightcrawler is supposed to bamf into the holding cell to save the children, you can see him standing back inches shadows a bit before he's supposed to be inside the room.. I caught it years ago watching it on dvd

Even though she originally only had absorbing others abilities. How more popular did she become after absorbing Captain Marvel's powers permanently? Logan is the only X-Men movie I like due to all the casting and story choices of all the other movies.

She was also originally a villain so they didn't stick to that, so they didn't have to stick to her needing Ms Marvel. Just grab any mutant with super strength and flight.

Not that forgettable in my opinion. I mean, sure, it could've been better. But, hey! Compared to X-Men: Dark Phoenix, you might find X-Men Apocalypse a bit more harmless to watch and who knows. Maybe it could've been one of thise rare gems that a lot of people like overlook and ignore.

@@SakuraAvalon _Dark Phoenix_ wasn't god awful, in my opinion. It had some okay performances, some cool action moments, and a really cool musical score from Hans Zimmer. But it had some established things that were never brought up again or resolved by the end, most of the action isn't quite that good (despite some cool moments), there's even less consistency in-between it and _Apocalypse_ (with them retconning the source of Jean's Phoenix powers), and for the final film in the Fox _X-Men_ franchise (a franchise that's been a part of our lives for almost 2 decades), it just didn't have any legit stakes nor any real sense of finality. It just feels like *another* _X-Men_ movie rather than a true finale. And I think what really didn't help is Disney buying Fox. Because it seems like since that happened, practically no one had any confidence or interest in this franchise anymore, as it was only a matter of time before _X-Men_ would go to Disney and be rebooted into the MCU. So, it feels like they made it just to get it over with. But I guess that's expected when it was the directorial debut for Simon Kinberg. And I understand first-time directors aren't gonna be very ambitious for their first-ever films, but that's precisely why Kinberg was wrong for the job.

Well, even if that was the case in the movie, the mind control, Cerebro knockoff usage, and cold snapping out of it probably took a lot out of him, leaving him too weak to pull the big telekinesis escape the team needed.

One of my favorite scenes of Wolverine and Storm comes from a Deadpool comic. Deadpool walks into wolvirnes bedroom to interrupt Logan and a chick. Logan and Wade talk as the girl hides under the sheets. Then when Wade leaves He says bye Storm. And Storm answers Bye Wade

Still doesn't excuse how bad she was in the movies even in the cartoons she didn't have any form of super strength or flight she was still a decently gifted martial artist and she kept part of the abilities she absorbed specifically knowledge about skills they knew plus she was a leader and team player that even without being a front line fighter could still help out in a fight, while in the movies she's borderline useless.

23:23 there were so many things wrong with this scene Doug barely scratched the surface. How did they get access to Cerebro's blueprints? How can a near-braindead telepath overpower one of the strongest ones in existence? Why didn't he just have his son do the whole killswitch thing if he's so powerful? The reason that Jean Grey decided to sacrifice herself is because of her alternate personality (not a fire bird from space like in the comics) is rising. She knows that she will be a danger to herself and the entire world and decides to give her life for them (an heroic sacrifice) Famke in Last Stand was amazing

Bobby and Kitty officially meet Logan in X-Men one. But Logan does not officially meet him. There's one scene in X-Men 2 that slightly contradicts that scene from X-Men one. It's the scene where Bobby introduces himself to Logan. Bobby doesn't know who Logan is in that scene. Bobby should know Logan because Bobby meets Logan for the first time in Xavier's office! Why does Logan say his own name to Bobby when Bobby already knows Logan and his name!? Rogue actually went to class on her second day and not on her first day. You wouldn't put that person in class on the first day of school. You need to show them around the place first and then give them a dorm room.

As far as whether or not certain characters has certain powers that Doug thinks they have, the question is, "Did he get into comics growing up?" I, personally, know that certain characters have certain powers only because I researched them on Wikipedia (we were conservative and didn't have much money growing up). Doug doesn't research something beyond the immediate movie references, like those two actors being the same age.

Originally in the comics they wanted Mystique to actually be Nightcrawler's father, due to her being a Shapeshifter. She had a lesbian lover named Destiny that was a mutant and would eventually become Rouge's foster mother. Unfortunately a story like that at the time wasn't considered "appropriate"

Mystique has no demonic ancestry the blue skin is part of her mutation and Nightcrawler inherited it from her. His dad is an ancient demon like Mutant who is basically a red version of him though I have to admit I'm personally not fond of that addition to his origin.

At least Jean having the Phoenix power is done better in Apocalypse... which is why her GAINING said power in the later movie makes no damn sense and was the first warning sign Dark Phoenix was going to suck. Seriously, I felt it was perfectly fine and didn't NEED to be elaborated on with another movie. Jean mentions feeling a dangerous power within her towards the beginning of Apocalypse, which made me feel her embracing the power to defeat Apocalypse was reasonably done and therefore explained why Jean is alive in the new timeline at the end of Days of Future Past. Dark Phoenix just screws that up and adds nothing

You know, it's kind of a shame Fox didn't want to make their own cinematic universe, because they could've used the X-men. I mean, the a lot of the individual characters are popular or interesting enough that you could flesh most of them out with their own movies or shows, maybe using wither obscure villains or completely making your own up for the movie, as well as occasionally having one where they might clash with each other before they all are gathered together. I mean, you'd have to stray pretty far from the source material to make it work in some cases, but they already did stray pretty far from it, and the results overall were mixed at best.

its funny how the wolverine movies got better like X-Men origins wolverine being the worse, the wolverine being much more slightly better, and then probably the best X- Men movie ever made(which should have also been the last one ever made aside from the Deadpool movies) and probably one of the best comic book movies ever made as well as marvel movies ever made LOGAN. You know I find it strange how a spinoff trilogy focusing on one of the main x men characters can be better than some of the movies that feature all of them.

X2 is my top. I think Logan is the better movie. But I honestly can't see myself watching Logan again. It does the dark, cold world a little too well. It's not a fun movie to watch. A very well made, well written movie that deserves the praise. But it's for the most part, intentionally unfun.

I'd imagine the comment section for the nostalgia critic’s video, was filled with them giving him flack for Rogue not being able to fly at this point because she hasn't gotten the ability to fly yet because she hasn't encountered Captain Marvel & she "couldn't" outside of "Off-Camera" because of the rights issue (at the time) between Fox & Marvel/Disney.
