I managed to not cry until like the very end where his mother said she was proud and he smiled... That was the smile of a happy kid who's mom praised them

We only saw him for an hour or 2, but we all instantly liked him

I love the way Rengoku is built, when we first see him, you like his design but didn’t think much of him, then when you see him in the movie you like his attitude and his demeanor, then when you get to know him, you hate the dad and all, you see just how much he cares for his brother senjuro, to the point that he didn’t care if his brother would be a hashira or not, he just wanted his brother to have his own path to follow. You then start to like kyojuro more and as the flashback of his mother appears, you remember that even though the children are like his dad, they still have the heart of their mother, and her speech and the way he teared up really attaches us to his character and his saddening speech. The last moments were what really made him so much likable, even if you never heard of demon slayer what I like is that he just wanted his mother to recognize and be proud of him. And that smile.... it’s too innocent and saddening that he finally got recognized. What’s more is that even though his dad was a douche, he still wanted his dad to take care of himself, and even in the 1st episode of the entertainment district arc, you don’t like the dad at first until his dad realizes and breaks down over the realization, the Rengoku family is the saddest family in the series. And the entire family really got our hearts. And I’ll always love the Rengoku family’s representation in the movie and the series. This series is worth the recommendation for anyone to watch. Also one thing I wanna point out Remember how crows never really show emotions and are tasked to deliver the news and all? This makes me think, what if the crow got a chance to know about Rengoku, about his life, who he is, and what he is like, god thinking about it got me sad and it really makes sense. Like why would it cry before delivering the news? This is one of another great scene representation of how great Rengoku is Sorry I’ll brb to cry my eyes out and buy more tissues

For being so new to this show. I was not ready to lose Rengoku. He gave me deep Vash The Stampede vibes. RIP Flame Hashira

I watched Demons Slayer's first season and the movie for the first time a few weeks ago. I've teared up in several touching anime scenes over the years but this scene absolutely tore me apart, even though Rengoku didn't appear for very long in the overall story. It's so effectively executed and it makes you care deeply about him. I'm still thinking about it weeks later and I'm gathering strength to start the second season... the way this anime cultivates the viewer's empathy is remarkable.

No matter how many times I watch this I always cry

Rengoku is easily my favorite Hashira, he had all the qualities that I respect in a character. He had a will as powerful as the very sun. And when his death came I was just devistated, as devistated as I get on a daily basis with the deaths in Shuumatsu no Valkyrie. Rengoku is just a fantastic character.

Always the fire character that dies. Even when Ace died in One Piece I couldn't believe it. He had such short time on screen but damn he became an undisputed universal favorite. I really loved Rengoku I don't like how soon he died 😥😢😢😢😭😭😭😭😭

We only seen him in like 7 or 8 eps but he got into our hearts, and honestly i like him more than the mcs he was my favourite character in the whole series. It was hurtful to see him go too early.

To the ones that didn’t cry: your soul is being attacked by demons & you have the power to slay them. This should all resonate with us on a human level. A beautiful character with so much depth with no background info until the mugen arc. I lost my father 2 years ago & I went to see this in the theater the day I finished rehab arc. Rengoku represented the streangth & perseverance we all should have in life no matter what it throws at us. I’m now in school to become a firefighter thanks to the values this show has presented to me at my lowest of times. Long live Rengoku!!!

This is what I love about villains like this when they lose. They talk like they have all the power in the world. Like they're so far above humans or whatever. Then something happens that puts them at. Slight disadvantage, and they run for the hills. Because deep down. Being evil is easy, it's the cowards way out. Being good, being a hero is hard. And Rengoku proved that. The demon was talking Bput this "demons are better then humans" bs then when the sun came up he booked it cuz he'd die

Hashira means pillar in Japanese. So, Rengoku's ''be the next Hashira supportig ... '' has double meanings, Hashira as pillar and rank.

Rengoku was so close in killing him too! He's probably one of the few hashiras to coming close on killing him by keeping him in place.. Akaza wasn't worried about his head being cut.

Here we can see many don't expected that loss. Even one of them thought Akaza was going to exit to the sunlight because of Tanjiro calling him s coward. It's kinda amazing the pace of this fight, and the conclusion. We can later see the amazing feats of Rengoku if we pay attention, zenitsu even mentions Rengoku saved a lot of people while the train was getting wrecked, using breathing techniques. So none of them died, just him If Rengoku weren't such a strong willed guy, Akaza would have just go all out to kill him without distracting from his mission, to kill Tanjiro and keep looking for the flowers.

Imagine in the Future of Demon Slayer, the new Kyojuro was his brother (Senjurō Rengoku). And while Senjurō was fighting a demon his mother and Kyojuro watching him.

When I say this totally and utterly broke me I mean it and I can’t stop crying

Went to watch this at the theater on my bday with makeup on and by the end my makeup was gone, shouldn't have put on any makeup if I knew the ending was gonna be this sad.

Man when i saw that "upper three" sub pop up I was like 🙄 Are we really going to lose somebody today🤔🤔 And then comes there rengoku starting to lose and i was like yeah they're gonna give rengoku the sayonara🤔 But i guess it was the best farewell the author could give to such an amazing character And also in a way it showed the strength of the upper moon and hashira They showed tanjiro's pov and it was like flashes

It has been almost a year since I watched the movie, BUT I STILL WILL NEVER GET OVER RENGOKU’S DEATH.

Other anime takes seasons to make a character lovable but here my Rengoku did it in few episodes

Demon Slayer is the only and first anime to actually make me cry. But this movie completely just broke my heart.

idk which was harder for me, when his mom popped up or that last scene where his crow had tears in its eyes as it flew away...

I don't know why but every time I watch this moment, I cry a lot.

So Akaza killed off one of the most beloved character on Demon Slayer and by the end of the next arc still managed to become a a favourite of lots of fans....talk about a wonderfully written character....

Props to Inosuke for somehow giving everyone a good chuckle, both the characters and viewers after something so emotional

rengoku is that type of character in every show that created to die and become a stepping stone for the mc to become greater through an impactful experience. not every anime does it right but they did good here.

That smile when his mom said "I'm proud of you" absolutely broke me. His smile really makes him look like the little kid he never got to be, despite his injuries :'(

That scene where Akaza trying to punch Rengoku's but getting blocked instead was the true peak cinema experience. It hit different on the big screen. Everything just went crazy

It's incredible how a character who we barely saw in the anime (Not sure about the Manga as I haven't started reading it yet) had such a hugely emotional impact on viewers. I don't generally cry, but that's because I have trouble expressing those emotions, but this one drew it out from me along with my wife who was absolutely bawling.
