I just bought a RENNtech HHT for my GLA45 AMG and thought I’d quickly share my experience with it as I couldn’t find many reviews online. I am really ecstatic with my purchase as the RENNtech HHT has resulted in a huge improvement in the drivability and performance of my car, and is also so simple to install that a monkey could do it! Not only does the car feel much faster, but the suspension and transmission are now smoother than before, the lag that was present in the stock form has been vastly improved, and the car also sounds better too. It really unleashed the potential of the car and makes it much more exciting and enjoyable to drive. I only wish that I had gotten the HHT sooner as I feel that the gains in performance are well worth the cost, and I have already decided to get one for a Mercedes E63S wagon that I have on order right now
Thanks for sharing. What year is your GLA 45 AMG? Does your GLA 45 AMG have Sport+ and/or Race mode on the dial? Now that it's been 2 years, how do you feel about the Renntech HHT tune? When you had the tune, did you do any further mods such as high flow downpipe, air intake, etc? Thanks in advance!
@@AEMBowers my GLA45 AMG is a 2015 model, and it only has “sport”, “comfort”, and “manual” settings on the dial. I have been very happy with the tune and leave it tuned all the time. I haven’t done any further mods as I don’t really need it for what I use the car for, but would have no hesitation in getting the RENNTECH HHT for any Mercedes AMG vehicle based on the performance improvement that it made on my GLA45 AMG
Bought one for my 2013 w221 s550 a week ago. It's out for delivery now. Can't wait to install it and feel the difference. Was going to get the 93 octane one, but here in California, we only have 91. I really hope it still makes a difference because $2500 is a good amount.
@@kipking511 incorrect. It is completely up to the discretion of the dealership. If you take a vehicle in for service with a Renntech tune fully installed they WILL attempt to void your warranty. My dad and I had to FIGHT so they would honor warranty.
@@iainguss8222 Could You not read the details of the comment and see that he CLEARLY notes after it being returned to stock not "fully installed" as You just said???????? Thanks for the reply but ummmmmm let's not be so overzealous to overrule here
Power...that's the only point of tuning. Yes, the dealer can find the tune, and if they find fault in the tune and the reason something failed, bye bye warranty.
It can not/will not void your warranty. What can happen though, is if there is a problem with your car and if they can prove that it's a result OF THE TUNE, then that claim will be denied. The warranty will continue to be valid, but claims against it, in regards to issues CAUSED by the tune, will be denied.
I think the honest truth here is that MBUSA can try to fight against your claim if they deem failure due to tune specifically, however how good do you think your odds are, even with legal representation, going up against a company of that size? My advice, consult with your dealer and get them to put something in writing they will help you out via warranty, if there is an issue.
is the stock tuned tied to the VIN of the vehicle? for example, a W204 C63 507 vs a regular one, 507hp vs 451. Hope when I flash it back to stock, it doesn’t decrease it back to 451.. that would be horrible. If the stock tune takes into account all the performance upgrade packages the original car came with? Also, does this also tune the transmission mapping as well?
I bought a tuning for my Sprinter but it didn't work. I tried to contact them and let them know, they tried to find excuses of different things for me to try. I did all of it but still did not work. I wanted to send it back but they refuse to take it back. I spent $1,500 for an item that doesn't work. Do not buy from them!
A word of caution: I purchased the Tune from Owl Vann and it made my Sprinter's acceleration MUCH worse. It was as though the turbo kicked much later; so, no off the acceleration. Worse, the van would get stuck on the slightest incline, unable to get going. The tune also negatively impacted hill decent via downshifting, causing the Sprinter to rev, then not rev sporadically (forcing me to ride the brakes) . Both issues have gone away since I uninstalled the tune. Owl WILL NOT ACCEPT RETURNS ON THIS ITEM. They directed me to RennTech, who haven't been all that responsive IMHO. I'll update this comment as I learn more, but wanted to share w/ others if they are considering this tune
