RENO VLOG | land plans, new appliances & finishing the kitchen reno (for now) 

finley filmed a BODACIOUS amount of content for this video, so i did my best to season in a lil content of myself too throughout the longer renovation parts. it's all very educational stuff though so i didn't want to NOT include all that he filmed. he's getting so much more comfy with the camera i honestly love it & hope you do too!

I really enjoy Fin’s electrical talk and Reno talk. It’s nice to see something real in terms of diy. It’s obviously never truly shown on tv shows or even other diy channels the true ups and downs. It’s also truly fascinating to learn/watch. He’s doing great and you’re doing great! Loving these vlogs!!

I saw your story on insta where you asked what kind of content people preferred and I just wanted to add my 2 cents in saying that I literally love it ALL girl! Keep doing you! Also, the longer the video, the better for me 🥰 these hour+ vlogs are real treats.

My 15 year old son plans on becoming an electrician in the future. I cant get this kid to sit still half the time, but he just sat here in awe learning from Finley! He said "this dude" (damn teenagers) just helped him with his homework in one of his classes! So Finley my dear sir, You mister Jack of all trades, you're going to be an AMAZING father. Amazing dude all the way around! My favorite power couple ❤

Omg the vertical drill/saw saga was such an emotional journey, proud of Finley for handling it so well and also being a funny jokester in the process somehow.

Fin is so incredibly knowledgeable! I love all of your content but I'm definitely excited to see the garden and homestead content return to the channel! I feel like I learn so much and get so much inspiration for my own home and garden projects. Y'all are so talented

Suggestions: I was watching another RU-vidr and she and her husband just purchased a farm in Canada. She was talking about soil quality and she is doing no till and raised bed gardening. Then I watched your video and I want to suggest that you get your soil tested (especially in the areas that you plan on gardening and where the hogs will graze). I am concerned about all of the potential toxins in your soil just from the items that you were able to see that the previous owner burned. Also, I know that you have talked about needing equipment and I have seen some RU-vidrs rent equipment and even hire goats to clear their land (I can’t recall if your property has a fence around it). I totally get it is one step at a time but renting items may help when you both get ready to do some bigger outdoor projects. I think if your kitchen was white, sage green, and the lighter woulda would brighten up the room. My thoughts: I thinking I love the new season you are both in and the Fin Cam is A1! I kept wondering why did the previous owner put the electric so close to all of the water pipes? With that said, I laughed so many times when he says shut your mouth, I can imagine future children thinking they weren’t even going to say anything😂. I actually like that he repeats, especially when he keeps talking about checking the wires to see if they are live. Both of you repeat from time-to-time, it is normal/natural, please don’t change a thing! You and Finley were so cute dressed for your date. You gave me Anne of Green Gables and Gilbert vibes living your Vermont dreams😊 I agree with what you said regarding going to people’s homes/private property. The same people justifying their actions would feel differently if people were coming to their home or the homes of their loved ones. Sometimes I wonder what did people really learn from the pandemic🤔.

It's been so enjoyable watching you guys move in and now reno your new place! I'm so excited for you to get your pigs back and start your garden and orchard! My husband and I just moved onto acreage last summer and the projects (inside and out) are never-ending! We also had/have a LOT of trash to pick up that we didn't know about, LOTS of glass. So proud of both of you! We had the same problems with our electrical box when we moved in. Our electrical box did not pass inspection because it wasn’t big enough for the house. I’d suggest in the near future to hire an electrician and having them instal a bigger box more fit for the size of your house. Great job y’all!

Thank God you guys can do so much of this work yourselves!! Totally can relate to how frustrating it can be to be cleaning up crap that previous owners left. I bought a fixer upper house from 1942 but I was surprised how much wasn’t disclosed and how windows weren’t properly installed and finding out later how bad the quantity was, also I have bagged so much garbage left in the cellar, house, and yard, it’s just so rude!!! Large personal items of theirs like a kids tracter bike and Christmas stuff in such bad shape that it can’t be donated. Even the exterior doors have been abused and not installed properly as well as the wrong size, I could go on and on but I get totally get what you are both are going through. Lots of luv from the Canadian West

As someone in NH dealing with the extreme tourism that overflows onto privage proeperties- thank you for speaking out. I've been seeing so many "influencers" post about hopping fences in protected areas here in NH and sharing it as tourist attractions and it makes me want to cry and scream. They don't live here so they don't get it. Please visit our cities and love on our cute businesses instead

I have that same dishwasher, she's a slay! the channel Technology Connections has a really great video about how dishwashers work, it's called "Detergent packs are kinda wishy-washy" if you or Fin are bored and want to do a deep dive lmao. Per the condensation on the pipes in the basement - we had the same thing happen within the first few weeks of homeownership when our AC was broken and it was a very rainy month. The basement was at like 80% humidity!!!!! We bought a dehumidifier and got the humidity down to 65% and the condensation on the pipes went away. We now keep the basement at about 45% (recommended per google is between 40-50%). I know Meg mentioned in the previous vid that y’all are gonna get a dehumidifer for the basement because it smells musty so I’m sure you’re on this already. Just wanted to provide my two cents because I had the same initial panic that I was doing something wrong and broke the house 😂😂
