You are so right. The city officials should pull that owner's Certificate of Occupancy. An owner should never be able to profit off of a dump like this. But this is America, where Exploitation is the order of the day. It's how the country started and founded and built this country--Exploiting the slaves!!!
I am hoping the landlord doesn’t see it or he will either put the rent up or take it away from her and get more rent for it. She has done an amazing job. Someone who works so hard deserves so much more. Good luck in the future girl.
It happens because owners make sure there is a clause in the lease that says you can't change the unit without the owners written permission, and they're (the owners) are being a farsehole don't forget that part!
You are now my most admired person that I've watched on RU-vid. May Our Father God and His Son Jesus Christ please continue blessing you abundantly always. Amen.
The next time I hear someone whining about wanting a "new" house, a bigger house, etc, I am going to refer them to this channel. This young woman is such a hard worker! I guess the best way I can help her from where I am, is to subscribe to her channel. She deserves so much more and hopefully she will get it from all of this work. Great job! It looks wonderful.
I had to admire this young woman, to put so much time and effort into someone else’s property. Ive been there and done that. I would spend weeks cleaning up filth, painting walls, repairing items that were broke and when the landlord would see what a nice job I had done they would raise my rent. No thank you’s for increasing their property values. I just hope her landlord appreciates all she’s done. I am older now and a landlord myself, trust me, I appreciate a good clean conscientious renter!
I admire this young lady. With the little she has, she has accomplished a beautiful room and made it bright and fresh. She can be very proud of herself. It is a shame that the rent is so high. The landlord should be disgusted with himself. I wish her all the best for her future.
unfortunately that drywall ceiling she installed to the 1/2x2 stringers and not ceiling joists without a vapor barrier and in places open to the elements where the roofing has failed! has little chance of survival past the first few rainstorms. the presence of water stained dampness in the floor and walls indicate mold will be an issue as well. no insulation or viable heat source means it will be cold . i still wonder why the ccp is producing this propaganda, because it certainly dosnt demonstrate anything to their greater glory except possibly perseverance
This use to be considered a "men's trade" but now us women's are darn good at it. I'm wish I have the skill to do all these renovating myself but i can barely put cabinets together without my daughter's help( my daughter is actually pretty good at assembling almost everything) kudos to this young lady for her hardworking skills and determination to fix up this dump. Praying that the landlord don't raise your rent after all your hard work.
Nothing to do with gender. I'm mechanically inclined and some men can't screw a light bulb. Follow instructions, people will share tricks. RU-vid is a fantastic source for DIY projects. Anyway, she is great! I don't think I could do it, then again, necessity is the mother of invention.
Hi, bravo, what an achievement. You now have a livable space. If only the landlord did this instead. You have created your own oasis. Enjoy your hard work.stay safe.
show this video to an architect or engineer or physician and ask them their professional opinion about the quality or safety or health issues one can expect from living in this structure.... but yes it dose look as good as a dressed photo shoot set
It's dry... Has an electric bulb... If the bulb is left on for day and night at least here in the States it would cost 30 dollars for the electric bill... It's not pretty and likely not very safe for health... But for no kids in the space it's a start...
@@melodybliss1593 i forget the specific video as i watch many for professional interest, without being specific they all have poor architecture and engineering they all would not pass western or european building code most are movie set or magazine layout prepared fiction. and given that using youtube is illegal in china and this upload is known about it is ccp sponsored produced and paid propaganda.....i guess showing people working hard but producing nothing of real value
the homeowner should pay you to live there.... if you ever leave the room, he can definitely rent it out for higher than 30$.... You did an amazing job
She did a great job. But having spent a lot of time and effort in the past myself, making someone else's property work better, it's best use of your time energy and ability to get materials, to put your efforts into rehabbing a place you can own: to rent out , or keep or sell for yourself. But if you are trying to make a dump habitable for yourself to reside in, (presuming the owner will not stop you, or raise your rent), do like she did, always start with the top and work down, Remove that "ceiling" and see what's up there, could be mice, insects, mold, or squirrels and birds too. put up a plastic sheet and then (depending on what you can get, an quick 'solution' might be metal or fiberglass panels and paint white. Insulation first if helpful. Then address the electrical wires or any plumbing pipes including sewage, look for leaks and replace with plastic piping (not expensive, easy to cut and glue together. All the rest is just cosmetic and should not be the primary focus until sanitation and air flow, then safe electric, heating and cooling are addressed. Peace and strength to work on your dreams, to all.
I love the selection of song Leaning on the everlasting arms. We sing it all the time at our church and part of the chorus is: Leaning on Jesus leaning on Jesus safe and secure from all alarms leaning on Jesus leaning on Jesus leaning on the everlasting arms.
Where is this supposed to be? Someone said America but the subtitles look to be in Chinese maybe? I don’t know. I could not get over her painting the windows with absolute filth on the windows. The first thing that would’ve happened with every bit of the filth would’ve been removed. There appears to be mold on the walls and basically that just got painted over. It looks better but I would think this is not habitable. I wouldn’t have been in that room without some kind of high level respirator on.
I'm proud of her but I feel like it was a waste. She doesn't get to keep it in the end, she can't charge for her time and the landlord can and will up the rent for future boarders. I wish there was more in it for her.
Other than the ceiling, this young lady did a great job! Hopefully she'll be able to put in a vapor barrier and some type of insulation above the ceiling panels in the near future, as I think it may have been money constraints which prevented her from doing it initially. I hope she enjoys her lovely, soothing living space.
@@mobiousenigma Absolutely nothing wrong with it, but if it's not ventilated properly it could cause condensation (true for any roof, really), and if it becomes damaged you could have leaks. I'm just thinking preventative measures, and am not trying to insult this young lady's hard work. I've been subject to roof leaks, and have had to deal with the damage.
@@AB2B lol yup those issues and more you havent mentioned...btw architecture student and trades laborer for decades i could list obc code violations in these videos until i typed my fingers off..but there not building here to be honest there building dressed sets which like magazine layouts have little substance...footings and foundations seem to be undiscovered technology to them
Here’s what it needs: lamps, (atmosphere,) not that blaring bulb in the middle of the ceiling. Then a few pics /paintings on the wall. (Asap) other than that what a great job she did, really made it nice.
Brilliant job. Like the colours very much. But a bit less furniture would provide more space and give posibility for yoga or other sports activity in the room. Never thought of this kind to use briks. Will keep this in mind for own renovation projects. Blessings and stay safe.
ya looks great until it rains and the drywall ceiling installed in 1/2 x 2 stringers comes crashing down when it rains because the roof is full of holes! theres an order of operation to any successful construction/renovation... #1 and the most critical is the structure ,,, #2 is the building envelope... she didnt check 1 skipped 2 and went to slapping lipstick on a pig ....it looks far better yes but its still a disaster so is it a great job?
Very great job. I really admire her hard work but i dont think this is being "so poor" . I have seen poverty, had gone through it and this is not. Maybe i did not understand the subtitle, maybe someone donated or something. Even if she did save some money, this is having something abundance. You are blessed to afford all those paints, cement, tiles, sofas etc. Stay blessed always. And i like your music.
