Set your 45 on the saw just past 45 and then you are more likely to get a perfect 45 and always cut with scrap 1st and fit then cut your good wood. You have to take the saw width into account.

The square you are using has a 45 degree edge. Hold it on the end of the moulding and draw a line then carefully make the cut with your skill saw. When you cut both intersecting pieces you should have a perfect fit Regards. Wayne

Outstanding job, it looks Great! On a window that size, double glazed won't make a lot of difference! Since you both agree on a single pane, go for it, it's yours! OH, one more thing, that pride and satisfaction you feel looking at that door is ALWAYS there! Every time you see the door you will feel it. Hello Dan and Laura, I noticed that you use a Tri square, the 45 degree angle on the Tri square is for those corner angle cuts. I’m sure you have either known this or someone else has mentioned it. I personally am a professional at dodgy cuts. Everything I do shows that fact. We have turned it into a joke and call it wabi sabi, the perfection is in the imperfection.
