I love this movie Rent. I always cry because its very real and hits on subjects of addiction,Aids,Homelessness,Homosexuality....all of our times....And l live in the East Village ,Alphabet City. A lot of the locations and places l am very familiar with and have gone too.I lived around the corner from LifeCafe..So it was like l could have hung with this crew.It hit home.
There was the original Broadway in 1996, the movie came out in 2005, and then the other Broadway was in 2008. I love the movie but I cant do the broadways
I completely forgot Taye was a part of Rent when they had him singing on All American last season... only just remembered recently when people were talking about how animated he is on Tiktok 😭😭😭
A lot of the cast in this film is from the original Broadway cast. Anthony rapp wrote a book about when the musical was being made and Johnathan Larson who wrote the play and about his death. It's titles without you a great book.
Great reaction. I was in college when this was on Broadway and sang along to the album over and over. Some concepts worked better on the stage than in this film.
I've actually seen it back in 2019 ago where Rent was doing a Broadway tour. We're going to see them in March since it's back, but first I want Mo to do a reaction to the Filmed Live On Broadway one before, so she knows what to expect before we see it in person. So hopefully we can get a reaction to that soon. Maybe I'll try and do a vlog of us going to see it live...
Great musical! Love the opening song! Great watching your reactions. Hope you do the new The Walking Dead Trailer reaction for season 11 B part 2. It just dropped.
