I am a person in my older 20s who was adamant on buying a property when moving out and My advise is do not! who you are in your twenties is not who you will be in your 30s. No need to tie yourself down that early
On this topic I will expose my lack of loyalty and say that my advice to young adults is that do not rush to own property but look at your future career prospect before you commit to living in one place for the rest of your life. So I am saying renting can be a good thing
I had this view when I was younger and I regret it. Get a property as soon as you can. You don't have to live in the home. You can rent it or sell if you move.
Thank you for this. At my big age of 34 I've been feeling trash that I don't own property but on top of all these pros and cons of owning you mentioned, I'm also a commitment phobe so tying myself down to 20 years is skwary 😵. Rent means even if I want a 4 bedroom place for 12 months, I can make it happen quick fast and switch back to 2 bedrooms ha ke batla 😂
I always wonder, if I have fully paid a house in an estate, then at some point I can't afford all the complex levies (or my children can't afford levies when one is no more) What happens?
I find this deposit part contentious. I don't think it's as simple or important as we say. It doesn't always make sense to pay a deposit. It might be wiser to put that money into an access bond. Just my thoughts..
