Thanks for that request! A general rule of thumb is that your more established areas are going to be around 2-2.5% tax rate, while most of your new developments can be anywhere from 3-3.7%. If you’re looking for low taxes you’d definitely want to stick with a more established (not new construction) area.

Wow, that’s high 😅 is anything under 2%? I wanted to purchase a home but idk anymore.

@@ifyousayso6423 around 2% is the lowest you’ll find in a good suburb of Houston. It’s good to remember that there is no state income tax in Texas, and depending on where you’re moving from the cost of a home could be much lower than where you’re currently at so the property taxes could be less or even the same. I’m a perfect example. My home in CA was so expensive that even though I’m paying a higher percentage in Texas, when you take into account that my home was only $350k in Texas, I’m actually paying less in property taxes than I was in CA. Plus I don’t pay any state income taxes.
