REO Brothers: More Than A Cover Band I’ve been watching lately videos on RU-vid and Facebook of a family band called REO Brothers from the Philippines covering popular music from the 60’s, 70’s, and the 80’s. The band is composed of four brothers (sometimes 5) from Tacloban City from the Visayas region of the Philippines. Their covers of popular songs of The Bee Gees, America, Simon & Garfunkel , Cliff Richards, etc. are really well made and totally enjoyable. But their covers of Beatles songs are the ones who really got me hooked on these young men. Having came of age in the early part of the 80’s and having been exposed to the sound of The Beatles through my good high school friends, I could tell you that this group really captured that special sound that made The Beatles one of the best rock and roll bands of all time. The soaring and tight harmonies are really outstanding and if you are an avid Beatles fan you will know that they really worked hard to capture the nuances of each song. And knowing their humble beginnings you will love them more. I will not bore you with all the details on how they started but a quick google search will lead you to believe that they indeed deserve all the success they are enjoying right now. It is easy to dismiss them as a mere cover band but the hard work they put on every song is really remarkable. Those tight harmonies and playing the instruments very close to the original for sure did not come by accident. It can only come from long hours of research and practice. Many have natural born talents but it will take hard work and dedication to harness them into good use. These young men are indeed testaments to the power of dogged perseverance. I will be a fan for a long time.

There are many musicians who cover The Beatles, but they are great musicians who have a good impression of their singing and playing without any quirks!! And above all, their performance feels respect for The Beatles

So I'm here re-watching my favorites from REO. And what I notice is when they highlight Paul's voice in one of the guys all the others are quite content to play their instruments! There's no ego trips! And then again on other pieces of music keyboards are highlighted or drums are highlighted the others step back and let them shine

Dixie I can say almost close to perfection.The vocal harmonies,the blending, the instruments note for note deliberation.They’ve done it almost 95% ...that’s my grading system....what can I do....that’s it..

Years back halos banyaga ang nagcocoment dto at konti lng ang pinoy. Nagsimula dumami nung nag live cla nung april quarantine.. marahil ang target tlga nila is more on sa labas ng bansa n audience kaysa s pinoy.. kasi nga tayong pinoy mala talangka.. panisinin nio hashtag nila, walang anything about phil marahil gusto nila mangyari s alhorithm ay ma attract ang labas ng bansa lang.. just my opinion..
I spend hours listening to REO Brothers and it's hard to stop, a show to hear who knows what it's like to make music and be humble. May GOD help us to promote these fabulous Filipino brothers. Hugs from Brasil.

You guys are introducing these wonderful tunes of yesteryears to the new generation. Now they realize how freakin great were the music then. … compare to todays, all screamin’ and and everything ( there are some good though) but our generations music was and still the great ones.
When I came across with this family/brothers singing my childhood songs during 60"s just recently I am amazed and really impressed with your talents. If ever you have not performed TOTO's music AFRICA (which revived by the group Weezer) I feel that it fits on your singing voice. The tonal quality of your voice is great.

Heard lots of our local bands during our early days doing Beatles covers, eg, Dynasouls, Intensity, Living Souls, Friction, etc, but you guys really nailed it 👍. Someone forwarded me a Beatles clip in whatsapps today, and I have spent the whole day watching EVERYTHING from these brothers. They are Truly Incredible and Gifted. When suddenly the conjugation of different factors (talent, engagement, commitment, fun, love for the music, family love ) come into one single output to make us really enjoy quality music and musicians. When spending time listening to them make us feel that there are worth things that one should get to fill our soul and feel relax and be happy that there are good things in our planet :)

And note that I've been playing Beatles since 1964, I know all about Beatles and I play all their songs, I know Beatles very well, I saw Paul live ... I know hundreds of Beatles covers, right here in Brazil for dozens ... But nothing I've seen and heard so far compares to you ... So congratulate REO Brothers, it really impressed me !!! I play in a band as a hobby. I did some little covers on my own. And I know how complex it is to record with excellent quality. Seeing from your setup, this is purely home-made. With that, you need to sound really REALLY good to achieve this quality. On the other hand, my band and I played your set from the ABS-CBN show (help, in my life, here comes the sun, i saw her standing there, hey jude) when I was still working in the Philippines, and everybody loved the set. :D God bless your God-given talents :) I hope your covers will bring you all to greater heights and opportunities.
