There are a lot of security camera companies that use the same manufacturers. This doesn't surprise me. They can have different capabilities based up the software installed on them. They could also have different internal hardware.

I'm a retired software developer but I've been using technology of all sorts for 3-4 decades.

I haven't noticed any problems but unfortunately my test conditions haven't been great. We have been in a drought but have had a couple of large rains (3-5in) breaking up the dry periods. I didn't have any problems during those rains.

It does still record when wifi gets disconnected.

I would recommend it. It does occasionally get falsely triggered but I think it is as accurate or more accurate than other cameras I've used. As far as the solar goes, I didn't have the best placement and it was in the shade for a good portion of the day. The charge was a little low for a while (30%) but as winter approaches, the sun is lower in the sky. As such, it is getting more sun and hovers around the upper 90% on charge. I could have moved the solar panel but I wanted to see how it would do with minimal/poor sunlight. If it works under my conditions, it will only work better with better sun exposure. I think the LED spotlight is also a nice feature.

I have a microSD card installed in the camera so it stores it until the card is full. Then it overwrites the oldest recording. I have used around 8GB of the 32GB card between August to today (Nov 8th). You can also download video to your phone.

@@Rickmakes will this cam will work in trails or on the land if I’m 50 miles away?

@@KUBBI7488 if your talking about it not being near any wifi. it somewhat possible but you need to set it up with wifi first but if it doesn't have internet(wifi) it can not send notification. they do have 4G LTE version like the Reolink Go Plus.
