Hey up another review , cool ,.that picture hangar at back of ball socket , you can use that. . All I'd do is , to hang it , then above ,where you'd usually lift it. I'd place a screw there too, to stop it from coming away . Won't be as good as two screw holes, but it'd secure it ,and easier to change positions .

I’ve got a few reolinks, main problem with solar ones is they take a while to ‘wake up’ and record so you often miss the event that triggered them. Handy to live-view check on things though. I like the 180° idea.

Good review. It's not the camera for me either. I use powered cameras to provide continuous streams of RTSP. Then I do the monitoring and recording on a windows PC with the Blue Iris software. It is rock solid. As you say, the camera needs to be running and the images securely stored if there is any kind of event, and I can't rely on battery cameras with built-in processing.

I do have some handheld radios and the defender has one as well. Since the internet video I am getting more into that kind of stuff so it might be a set up I will be working on in the future

Definitely not the camera to keep an eye on the hydro. Maybe you're after a raspberry Pi running it's camera if you want to tinker! 🙂

I mean ... If you buy stuff for yourself and make a review video about it, that's fine with me, but if you turn your channel into "reviewing stuff I got for free" then I'm out. Partly because I don't care much for that kind of content, partly because even if I did, it's very difficult, if not impossible to remain objective when you didn't pay for it with your hard earned money. Especially if you benefit from the sales.

You are right, I have been finding my feet with the direction to take the channel and this has been an experimental stage.

@@offgridscotland If you ask me, it was the micro-hydro for me. Waiting for an update video about how it's going. I'm saving up to buy some land and build a self sufficient homestead. I got the actual building part covered, but I'm interested in anything from ways to generate power to animal husbandry, gardening, forestry, and just ideas in general how to do things and the best way to set things up. I don't know if you're into that kind of stuff or planning to get into it, but there are quite a few successful channels about this lifestyle.

Is this a product review channel now? I thought it was about creating an off-grid homestead... shame

@offgridscotland Any product review's could be useful, as you don't know your subscribers situations you never know what's useful. I found this video to be interesting and I had an idea of what I could use the device for. Upon saying that neighbour won't approve, not that I would be watching her property but the driveway. Anyway thanks for the video
