Great video. Like you I am interested in continuous recording/live for my waterholes to perhaps put on the web. Any suggestions of what type of camera with solar panel?
I am not sure, but having solar power continuous operation requires a fair sized solar panel, which might not be something that comes off the shelf. I have a PoE powered camera using solar, which I explain here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mbfh3e-LH_k.html
So what you've discovered is that kangaroos camouflage themselves as llamas during the day when filmed 🤣. I loved hearing the kookaburras again, defo home sick making material. Thanks again for another great vid
Hi There, After seeing the phone connect to Wifi, I wanted to check. Can this camera use both 4g AND a wifi network? For example if we get WiFi later on, can the camera be used with that instead of 4g?
Thanks for another great video! Eventually I'll go ubiquiti all the things.. I was wondering a couple of questions if you don't mind? 1. Have you done much with streaming alternative cameras into the ubiquiti NVR? E.g. hikvision or similar? 2. I was looking for a powered or solar camera I could login and take a look at when the farm house is being built.. wondering if this could be suitable or if there's something else you'd recommend?
As much as I am a fan of Ubiquiti, I do like trying other products out too. This is a pretty decent camera, and still going strong after 4 weeks or so. 1. I have not. I doubt it will work, as the Unifi NVR is very much dependent on the Unifi OS to control it. Afaik there is no way to manually feed it. 2. This could definitely work. As long as you have a 4G connection and don't mind the camouflage look. I also have a Unifi camera at my gate which is solar powered, but it is a bit more complex. Here is the video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mbfh3e-LH_k.html
Hi, great video! Thank you for the information. I have this camera as well. I am setting it up and was wondering how long does the battery last when using the solar panel? Do you ever have to charge it inside your home? I am using my PC to view my videos. Do you know how to delete the events? Thanks!
I have been running the camera for 8 months now and haven't had to charge it manually once. I don't know of any way to delete the events, but they get overridden when the SD card runs out anyway.
One of the features of this camera is "no-glow" IR LEDs. Can you tell me if they are really invisible at night? My last camera lit up with two red dots when the IR LEDS were on, so made the camera visible. Thanks in advance
The no-glow refers to the IR being off until a motion is detected. So, yes they are invisible until the camera starts recording. Having said that, they are almost invisible when turned on.
Hi, Great video... However, in your video you have WIFI coverage. Why did you not use UnIfi solar (think its called) and make a mesh network with your closest AP and put a Unifi camera there ? Would integrate with the current Unifi infrastructure you have in place perfectly
Fair question Thomas. I wanted to try out the trail cam and the Wifi is marginal, so not really suited for a streaming camera. I have the SolarPoint installed at my gate, and that is exactly how it works (although with a NanoStation). I might just relocate the SolarPoint to another part of the farm soon too. 😏
hello, do you have any idea if it is visible in night mode with the white circle on the edge in any position I put it, I tried it with another phone, the application is updated, it is the second camera I buy and it does the same. ?
@@LarsKlintTech if I could post pictures here, it would be ok to see exactly the problem. in night mode, something white appears on the edge of the footage, that is, on the corners of the image, as if it were reflecting from that white circle on the lens.
