Hi Rico. I was looking at the implementation and it seemed that after a number of changes there was an issue with dividing large numbers, throwing the thing out of whack. Strangely I can't replicate the issue, maybe it was a temporary bug on the Bubble side. Either way I'm remaking a video sometime using list shifter to rewrite the indexes as you go, preventing any issues. I'll leave this up in the meantime. Thanks for letting me know :D
Straight to the point ! Thank you very much for sharing this great tutorial. I'm struggling to redefine the index number on all the list. Could you please explain the workaround that you had in mind ? Thanks a lot and love from France
Thank you for this! Writing in July 2022 and I can't see the "Current Workflow's Thing" option in my Bubble app anymore so I don't have a way of selecting the dradrop group that is actually being dropped into the drop area. Do you think I just missed activating some option in my app that surfaces this "Current Workflow's thing"?
Thanks! I was able to follow along and get everything working. I don't have a load big enough to see the break point mentioned below as I'm still tinkering. I noticed dragging "down" the list does not have the same behavior as dragging up the list (believe that is even so in your video). Example, dragging up to just below the green line places it below the green line, but you need to go a whole additional row beneath the same location when dragging down. Any recommendations on how to fix this for consistency? You also reference links to other videos in the comments, were those removed by chance? This is excellent content and above and beyond what I've seen in the forums so far for this specific application. Appreciate it.
Hi Nick. Good stuff, glad it's working. Again someone brought up a bug, and I confirmed it at the time, though I can't reproduce it anymore. Glad you're finding the video useful, I'll keep your suggestions in mind for the ux, for the new video :)
Really appreciate your job man. Just one 1 thing I didn't get though. In the 2nd step of the workflow, why did you pick the current workflow thing to build it?
This is really awesome and thank you so much for taking the time to put this up but for the love of god please go at like 60% of this speed for a tutorial.
can you please also make a video to show how to drag item #1 and put it in the place of item #2 when #2 takes the place of #1 instead of doing them in between of two items?
No. Don't use this method anymore. Use the one linked in one of the previous comments or search the forum. There is a better way to do it I've discovered since making this vid. Gl!
At 12:16 you mention setting a workflow to redefine the index numbers, presumably to make them 1, 2, 3... instead of having the decimals. How exactly do you do this?
That's a good point. In the video that part isn't explained since I don't explicitly create any items. I will make another video to explain it, but here's what I do: since on creating I usually am on the same screen where the list is displayed in a Repeating Group, I do something like New thing's Index = rg's List of Items: last Item's Index + 1.
That's just the size of the draggable group :) I replicated the text on it and added a conditional to the "actual" title: [when draggable group is being dragged > hide] so that it looks like the same thing.
