You did a nice job organizing your kitchen. However, I have a suggestion, you have vertical space above your side table where you could add some floating shelves or pot rack. Or you can replace the side table with a tall over toilet shelf. The garbage can can fit in the bottom and you can use shelves for microwave and more storage. Your kitchen does look nice and clean.
If you have someplace to store the kitchen cabinet door, maybe remove them and use a tension rod with fabric for easier access! A sturdy wall shelf will get the microwave off of the stand.
I have a similarly sized studio apartment in New York and I put a large wooden cutting board on my stovetop so I have extra counter space when I’m not cooking - a lifesaver
I just found your page. This was a fun series to watch so far, but also WHY aren't you just using shallow but wide bins for on top of your cabinets. You could fit LOADS of stuff in them. Cleaning supplies in one, food containers and thermos drinking cups in another. Extra food that won't fit in the pretty containers for now! So. Much. Potential.
Kitchen needs task lighting so the bright white bulbs you got are ok.. however, you may want to add a lamp with warm light for mood/ ambient lighting. Also, bigger or more of those square mirrors will help make the kitchen look bigger. 😊
You should get a smaller trash can. I would suggest not to use large trash cans in small apartments, just take the trash out when it gets full, it will save you so much space. Also, put a shelf up over the microwave for the jars. If it's done right the damage to the wall will be minimal.
Hi! A floating shelf above the kitchen table would have been more useful for your jars, maybe two short ones staggered instead of the prints it would still be decorative but functional
I live in a very small space as well and one of the first things to think about is vertical space. Not sure if you can put up wall shelves but that's the first thing I would do for that tiny recessed wall space to the right of your microwave. You can go all the way to the ceiling. Great for spices or other things in pretty jars, small art on the top shelf. I would put shelves on the wall above your microwave table as well for larger jars with flour, sugar, protein powders, whatever.
Oh yes this is what I NEED in the rainy Irish weather! I just moved into a small apartment area myself so I am taking notes and planning my own coffee bar in your honour 🤪 Happy reorganising and can't wait to watch all the upcoming videos 😍💛
So excited for this series 💗💗 what are your thoughts on under cabinet lighting? Those remote operated strips that stick on, would add some nice ambiance!💛 also, adding wall mounted shelving above the microwave? Could be handy for storage 😊
On the wall where the microwave is, you might want to think about adding floating shelves and putting your pantry items there in cute containers. You have the vertical space.
Can you place shelves on the wall above the microwave? use your vertical space? I also think you should add the extra two mirrors might make it look more complete
Luv what u did to the kitchen This is just me..... Place a small curtain rod above the 4 reflection squares or above a medium sz mirror and hang short kitchen curtains giving the illusion of a window..just me being extra 😉
TFS Just a couple of thoughts I will share about living in smaller spaces 1) I used to use my oven to store large pots pans and bakeware and 2) I kept my nicest pot on top of my stove. 3) Eventually I build myself a tray shelf that sat atop the stove and used it to style my kitchen and store salt/pepper grinders, my spice box on. These made use of spaces not used on the daily, freeing up counter and cabinet spaces to store other things. 4) Atop my cabinets I had pretty baskets used to store overflow cleaners, and food 5) I also always put up shelves keeping my floors easy to clean and more open. You have a lot of potential vertical storage in your space. 6) I also kept a basket atop my fridge to store appliances not used daily like my toaster and mixer owned a Ninja and a hand mixer. Hope these ideas help you or someone else
I loved this video it was fun , I'm not really feeling the mirrors tho. The concept was good but maybe get one of fake windows but with a window frame. That would look better . But overall I really enjoy these videos .Good job.
Much improved, but one thing I’d do is a lighting strip under the upper cabinets. I see another viewer suggested this too. It’d provide much better lighting for working at the counter.
you need to mount a shelf on the wall to hold the microwave (right above where you now have it sitting now) . It will give you a foot of space under it and then the top of the micro also becomes another foot of storage. mount the shelf properly of course, and I promise you, it will give you more space than you imagine...
The yellow lighting is awful in small spaces. I'm in the middle of switching out some of my lights for smart bulbs so I can control what type of light I want.
a narrow shelf hung on the wall above the microwave would provide a safer spot for the glass jar containers. They look like they could easily fall off that shelf.
I think you would have more floor space in your kitchen if you used shelves on that wall for your microwave and other items you have on that metal table.
I think adding peel and stick wallpaper to your mirror wall would be a great feature wall & then add a complimentary wallpaper or paint color on the bathroom wall facing the kitchen.
It's good to reorganizing your place. I've been in my house almost a year now. Maybe it's time for that too. I use to live in NY. I love NY but I can't afford to buy a house out there because of my salary. I had to buy a house in another state. Interesting is I get paid the same here as NY. Have you ever been to any of the Carolina states?
Dude I legit feel like we’re friends 😂😂😂😂….I do Instacart and everyday lately I turn on your channel and literally listen to your vlogs all day while I’m driving. I love the fact that you’re down to earth and your videos are just like hanging out with a friend.
I feel the same way! I just found her channel the other day and have been binge watching while getting things done around my apartment. Definitely feels like hanging out with a friend! ❤
Everything looks great, especially with the new lighting… I didn’t know you could change the bulbs on track lights… I have bright whites in mine and now I am seriously wishing for a softer hue…
Love iiiit 🤩 For the living space Hope your put your bad where your desk is to have a separated nice night space and where your bad is will be your office space and maybe do curtains or something to separate them ❤ Good luck
I live in a TINY apartment in San Francisco right now, I actually uploaded a tour of it this week. It was my first video. Working on my 3rd now! ❤ Thank you for your videos
It looks cute and so bright. Nice. I agree that the mirrors look a little carnival-ish though. I would opt for a single framed mirror. You can find them really cheap just about everywhere now.
11:10 your mannerisms here remind me of my mother when she would organize the house. The sweater and ponytail, leaning backwards a bit to get a good look at the space like "oooookay what are we gonna do here", including the finger snap! 😂 Great video
What a gorgeous studio. Maybe you could ad some colourful canvases and green plants in the kitchen to prevent it from looking so surgical. It's a small space so you need the good lighting 🙂
Those little self assembly table shelves are pricey & time consuming to put together. There are ready assembled wire versions that are ultra cheap: & to me, look better. The slim bit of wall to the right of the plug point is crying out for shelving , which would free up the wall with the microwave, fryer etc.
You could take the doors off the under the sink cabinet and be so happy. You can't see under the sink from the rest of the apartment and it would be much less frustrating to get at the recycle bins etc. You can store the doors under bed or in back of closet to replace when you move.
So many great changes! I love organizing and making good use of space. I LOVE the new lighting - it may seem awfully bright in person but on camera is a nice improvement. Can't wait to watch the rest of the series!
I love your intro so much? is it the fcp effect? looks cool! I love that there is so much light you get in your apartment, great works on organizing stuff, it's actually my favorite thing to do when I get overwhelmed or anxious.
the after video of the kitchen.. looks amazing 🤩🤩 it literally took me 2 days to watch it lol😅.. I had other stuff to do, but great video..can't wait for the living room remodeling video
Good job! I have a few suggestions: I was thinking that instead of the mirrors, you could put up a long and wide horizontal framed picture that would hide the fuse box on that wall and give it dimension. And then use the mirrors (on the same wall) in a row going down just above the microwave (on the right of the pipe-thingy). Also your cute cocktail frame could be on the wall between the living room and the bathroom! Hang it at eye level so you can read the recipes! And then put the cat lady picture down lower maybe even with the ketchup bottle, more at eye level. Just some thoughts. I love how you've fixed up your cupboards! It will be so much easier finding stuff, right?! Looking forward to more decor!
❤❤❤ love your organizing/decorating style! Looks amazing…I believe I can definitely use those in cabinet organizing shelves! Great Vlog, I cracked up 😂 at the “MTV Cribs” reference! Jonah came in to save the day…love that about him.
Nice vlog! I am inspired and i organize my kitchen cabinet under the sink today. I bought 2 kitchen organizers earlier this week for all the cleaning stuff. So after lunch i will start. 🙂
So pretty, i liked how it looked cozy & homie before but now it looks nicely organized and flowy 😍 I love the mirrors cuz they definitely do open up the space ✨
ahhh The owners could have raised the cabinets above the stove or all the cabinets to the ceiling and put a small microwave above the stove and then if there is room use a floating shelf for storage for everyday go to’s
cute improvements! I have always found that adding storage baskets with natural materials (like regular weaved baskets) can add some texture and warmth into a space.
