Those are indicators for how many of the plates will be selected depending on the weight! So, if you select 35 pounds, it indicates there will be two plates that are selected.
At the 2:00 mark you say it ranges from 15-40 lbs., but I think the lowest weight is 20 lbs (shell only), then each of the four 5-lb. inserts increases the weight to 25, 30, 35, & 40 lbs., respectively. Otherwise, excellent review. Well done! I’m now considering returning the five Yes4All neoprene kettlebells (10-30 lbs.) I just got from Amazon and getting this instead because it would save me a few dollars and the space of four kettlebells. 🤔
The 35-53lb adjustable kettlebell seems like the perfect option for most guys. Too bad it's so expensive! $298CAD after taxes. You could buy a whole set for that much!
Rep didn't make these though. These are just basic ones from China, that you can find from other brands too and I've seen people having issues with the plastic adjuster inside (it's not just the adjusting mechanism that is plastic, the things that is actually in contact and holding the weight inside, is plastic.. and not a very strong kind of plastic. I'd go with powerblock over this honestly. Despite the shape difference.
I was worried about the "plastic", but upon buying a pair was relieved to learn it is actually nylon which is extremely tough and abrasion resistant and probably contributes to keeping the plates from rattling.
