In 2004 here in Minnesota my boyfriend age 49 choked on his own vomit. We had him on life support for two weeks and the family decided to “pull the plug.” He died in 4 hours. His drivers license clearly stated he wanted to donate his organs. He was refused because he had been in the workhouse within the previous 12 mo. He was an alcoholic and didn’t have HIV or hepatitis etc. All those organs and tissues were wasted. The Univ of MN Med School allowed us to donate his body for student anatomy dissection. I can only wonder how many organs could’ve been made available nationwide for others in this situation. ❤️🙏🏼
