🤣🤣🤣🤣😍the post office lose money every year. And they never. Said nothing. About. It . But now the election. Comes. Now. Do now they. Care this is all about. Mail in vote . Hellos. Wake up
I'm a bit of a national politics junkie, as is my longtime girlfriend. Neither one of us suffers fools or corrupt sycophants lightly. Until today I had no idea who Rep. Stephen Lynch is. Now I'm feeling like I want to move to his district in Massachusetts, solely to support this gentleman. Lynch is a breath of fresh air in a foul, malodorous House! Why can't all congressional representatives be this direct and prepared-to-speak in their questioning of hearing witnesses? Thank you, Congressman Lynch!
"Questioning"? This was a political speech with a silly question thrown in at the end as an afterthought. AOC, of all people, managed to ask better questions than this. There was nothing in there designed to actually discover what is happening. If you were really that well informed you'd know that this whole crises has no more truth to it than the Russian hoax.
Not sure what "questioning" you are referring to. It was a five minute filibuster with no opportunity given to Mr. Dejoy to say anything. Concluding with a saracastic "what the heck are you doing?" Browbeating someone to get thousands of "likes" on youtube is not a "breath of fresh air." It's politics as usual.
I know , right ! I just got through writing a comment confessing my new found love of Stephen Lynch ....Wow what a guy ..I had never wven known he existed until now ..I do love him ...he has so much common sense ...oh be still my beating heart ..... Bods and faces don't do it for me any more ....it's whatever that Stephen Lynch has does it for me now ...he is just like Andrew Cuomo ...I have never been attracted to older men .....until now ..♡♡♡
@@cindyansah3413 The post office has been horrible for decades Mismanaged. It needs to be ran as a business. Our tax money subsidies them every year for gross mismanagement. So putting someone in there to rectify the problems and come up with real solutions is a basic thing. I don't understand the logic on continuing this process. Its political not economically based.
@@jaybro.2741 the post office does not recieve any tax payments, and they were turning a profit and inovating until a wretched bill was with by partisan support that crippled our post service
“This document shows that these delays are not a myth or conspiracy theory, as some of my colleagues argue,” House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairwoman Carolyn Maloney said at the start of a hearing on the post office. “These steep declines did not start in April or May with the coronavirus crisis, but in July when Mr. DeJoy came on board and began making his changes.”
@@AprylK4588 I ordered something from Scotlant. It was packed and in London in 48 hours it has now been in the New York system for 6 days with no estimated delivery time.
You noticed that too? I noticed he blinks rapidly and stammers a lot when asked questions that he has difficulty answering because he can't BS his way out of it
Geri Mars How stupid that reasoning is ! Its actually a sign that you are frustrated and hes frustrated with the nonsense being presented by a self promoting Rep that wont shut up
Um, if you check his job history you’ll find he is the first postmaster general since the 90’s that has the experience to run it. Jeez, do some homework and stop being a sheep.
He was appointed by a board that is largely made up of Trump appointees. And if he can’t deliver the mail on time - which is not happening and he said he can’t guarantee then why is he in the job?
Big Thanks to Congressman Lynch for "sticking it" to Dejoy and making great points on The USPS capably delivering mail throughout the most pressing times in our Amercan History.
Wow ! I do believe I just fell in love with Stephen Lynch .... Move over Andrew Cuomo ..... there is another articulate , intelligent , compassionate man out there , with common sense ....... I'm on cloud nine .... A man with common sense in this country in 2020 ..Wow wow wow ! I love you Mr . Lynch ...♡♡♡♡♡
As a former NAPS Branch 204 VP, I have witnessed this committee and viewed several proceedings; originally from MA, I'm grateful for Rep Lynch. After a highly competent Postmaster General retired, Megan Brennan, I cannot polity express the extent of disappointment in the current Postmaster General, in fact, I actually can hardly stand to hear him stammering thoughts his thoughts. His policy of enabling massive amounts of delayed mail, rather than adjusting service standards to meet operational capabilities is a simple extension of his boss' systemic attacks to undermine confidence in US institutions (including but not limited to the US Armed Forces and the Senior Military Commanders), an aspect of the wider attacks upon democracy, trust, honesty, a free press, freedom of assembly, freedom of speech, separation of church and state, checks and balances between the executive branch, congress, and the judicial branch, undermining our European allies while playing Putin's puppy, directly enabling nazi and bigoted movements, plundering the US Treasury for self-enrichment and corporate welfare while Americans suffer, appointing incompetent family members to high-level government positions
It would seem efficiency programs have revealed an institution that over the years has had its delivery capacity margin reduced to the point that a simultaneous pandemic and large efficiency program tipped the institution into instability. In the past, what some saw as waste was in fact a reserve that could weather a storm. Like the Great Recession, businesses that operate with tight margins that rely on a stable economic environment are destabilized when that environment has an unusual change. The Postal Service, like water and electricity, is a stabilizing force in our economy. Failure to care for it risks a positive feedback cascade of calamity.
No wonder why I been getting my mail late, I send a package for my grandson for his birthday he got it after his birthday I made sure I send it one week ahead for him to get it on time also I was surprised how much they charge me. The post office has never charged so much money like they doing now.
New mail sorting machine at Grand Junction USPS annex thrown out it took two months to set up and they were just about to do a test run when the postmaster general ordered us to take it out, ... But, didn't he testified that he didn't give the order too have them removed?!🤷🏾♀️
@@khathu919 - well all I can say is God bless you and everyone who works a USPS job...we all work hard and just want earn a decent living. It's a real shame that a jackal like DeJoy can come in just destroy things simply for the benefit of another jackal. You take of yourself! * 🇺🇸 * PS: DeJerk did testify he didn't give orders to shuttle equipment. If any documents can be found proving to the contrary...that would be just lovely!
Applause for Rep Lynch -- and a few Bravos too. Got his facts right at his fingertips. I salute him and the post office workers who made the 2020 presidential free and fair.
Look at his face. His mind was working to figure out how he got away with this hearing. He did not have any remorse. He does not show any regret. He just wants to get away with this. No remorse. No consideration of what and how his decision has affected to the AMERICANS, both inside and outside the country. No apology from his heart. Did we hear any word of apology. And the question was all "allegation" for DeJoy. Coward.
Seems odd that all the issues started when DeJoy took over. Also seems odd that the C19 statistics have started to plateau and go down since July when the CDC's reporting system changed.....any co-incidences there?
Trump just threw him in that position so he could use him as a escape goat. If I was in his position I would say f××× this, I don't need this headache I quit.
Remember that Republican jerk hammering away with gavel while a witness was testifying? Lynch was a hell of a lot more civilized. So go fetch your stupid dog catcher...leave.
I never thought id see The USA this messed up...i live in a 3rd world country and we used to look up to USA as the standard of how good things shld be, "God i wish we had that..." but now "Thank Jesus we dont..."
Ask why DeJoy does not intend to place the sorting machines back to the place. Ask why. Ask why he refused to improve the service quality. Ask what role the postal service General has to play. He has a coiple of conflict of interest, so ask him why he is "violating" the constitution. Ask why abd why... And do not let him lie away like Trump does always.
Wow! If that is not a spanking, uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-I don’t know what is! Wow! That was amazing! It actually soothed my angry, human heart, ‘cause thankfully, I am a very proud, Canadian citizen, and as a human, I can’t help my reaction to what my fellow humans are going through. This is as honest as I can be, as this comment is not influenced by other comments, because I haven’t read any other comments, yet. Welp, here goes......
Removal of male flotation equipment is not a clear cut point. The Postal Service has been consolidating operations at processing centers and processing facilities. The male citation equipment has quickly been deployed, and then declared obsolete in very short cycles for the last 30 years. Machineries not taken out at just, that be the end of the story. If the male volume drops and the machineries, unused operations would be consolidated and access machinery, that’s not used is going to get removed. Machinery that’s been in service is definitely going to get replaced with upgrades which has been continually going on. Also, there’s a plans that are happening to place smaller, powerful and effective salutation machines in larger post offices, which can hold them have the capacity to do the citation at the delivery point. They’ll be doing a final sortation there. The idea is to reduce the number and size of existing processing centers and facilities. Particularly to eliminate processing centers and stay with the facilities by consolidating Moving them from smaller centers to larger facilities, which in modernization can handle the volume smaller more efficient machines in connection with letter going down as it continually has. So some of the questioning about male processing equipment isn’t anything this guy was prepared to answer or answer, or was going to answer or really made any difference as far as anything is concerned. His goal as the postmaster general appointed by the 45th president is to run the company into the ground so that it can speed up the day when they can get the political back to privatize the Postal Service making it possible for them to just tear up any future labor contract plans. If they can privatize, then they must re-organize and they wouldn’t have todeal with the existing unions so they can create positions that have no benefits and lower wages and fewer raises.
LETTER TO THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES 💙DEJOY SAYS “NO!” CONGRESS! WILL YOU SUBPOENA OR WILL YOU QUAKE? You approved $25 billion in continued funding for USPS, and $2.5 billion for elections. But Louis DeJoy said “NO”. Here are the facts: 1. In early August, DeJoy claimed that the US Postal Service’s financial position was dire, with no end in sight. But when he testified before Congress on August 24, he said that USPS did not need any money. He changed his story. 2. If, as he claimed, the USPS does NOT need money, why did he order the immediate removal of sorters and drop boxes, and eliminate overtime pay to postal workers? This is particularly troubling in the middle of a pandemic and the run up to the election, when millions of mail-in ballots will be in play. 3. DeJoy was asked many times if he would restore the sorters and drop boxes, and he answered emphatically, “NO” each time. I fear DeJoy’s handlers lead all the way into the Oval Office. They know how important the sorters are in this election, so his answer WILL ALWAYS BE “NO!” 4. Congress, you have requested documents to validate DeJoy’s actions. Will he comply or will you quake? Will you subpoena DeJoy? If DeJoy does not follow through, will you detain him in jail until he complies with the subpoena? We, the People encourage you to follow-up with Louis DeJoy for documents and records pertaining to changes made to the United States Postal Service. If he does not comply, we urge you to subpoena the records for immediate delivery, and if not, that Mr. DeJoy be held in contempt of Congress until such delivery is achieved. We must have first class mail delivery, and the sorters and blue drop boxes must be restored. We cannot sit idly by and watch Mr. DeJoy or anyone else disenfranchise our right to vote. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Install 50% more package sorting machines.Allow the PO to give discounts on packages.Remove the requirement that the PO pay for health benefits FIFTY years in advance.Ever since Republican Nixon the PO has deliberately undercut the Post Office.
Since DeJoy saw fit to slow down the mail by destroying postal equipment, Congress should see fit to extending the grace period for votes to be counted.
Southie Kid takes on Brooklyn kid. Lynch sets him up describing his working class background ironworker and all. DeJoy who was a kid from Brooklyn clearly identifies with some head nodding as only a guy originally from white urban 60's can. Steve's patriotic account of the Post Office's history deeply affects DeJoy as well. Its then his eyes start blinking (body shot) .This guy clearly likes to think of himself as patriotic, clearly disturbed, but also tough as nails. He understood Lynch's humiliating barbs regarding destroying our country , that was deep belly blow White guys from the city back then thought being super patriotic was important. Then the questioning of his competence and even more deadly, of his integrity is what took him down. Down he fell like a leaded weight. He was the fall guy - He thought he walked into that appointment with his eyes wide open - now swollen and battered ................. and all the while the the big blonde monster from afar watches the total destruction with a gleam in his eye.
Possibly he could get some help from Biden for his stuttering problem. Seems like it gets worse when he doesn't want to answer the question, but loud and clear when he makes his own self-serving statements
