Hi Michael, you made my day with a very informative and funny video. I just bought one, but am going nowhere. Just want to change from a regular mattress that costs many times more and only lasted 4 years. My queens size mattress was $500, a good deal. Hope you are doing well, and post another video of how you are. .If I ever needed an employee, I would love to hire you, but I am retired and too old for that game.
Great video. Just and FYI in case you need to do it again: the back seats of the Corolla do come down, there are a couple of pulls in the trunk of the car, might be easier to do it that way.
Great video! This was helpful and fun to watch. Now I know it's possible to deflate a mattress that came in a box. And I also know that I don't want to do that. 😅 bit this video helped me to figure that out. Thanks.
Thanks hennessy! I appreciate the view and the comment! So far i've just posted some of my adventures but i think you've inspired me to do more how to videos! Have a good one!
Hi Michael- Got a queen bed to be moved in the next 2 weeks. Very impressed with your video and gives me confidence to be able to pull this one. I am not as strong as you are but have the help of a willing teenage daughter. The fact that you were able to fit it in a corolla, iu might be able to fit it in my Camry and not have to rent a U haul. Question: How thick was your mattress, the one i have is 12 inch.
cook master Hi Cook Master! Glad to be of service! Thanks for watching the video! I just measured, the mattress I deflated is 9.5 inches. I would imagine it should be able to fit in your Camry if you can fit it through the doors! Let me know how it goes if you remember a few weeks from now! Good luck! Have a great and safe trip!
@@michaelnicolos58 -Hi Michael. I found a 4 mil thk twin pack queen at Amazon for $12 and change. Was ableto tape the ends of the open end and as recommended by you used a rectangular open end adapter and with a new shop vac from Walmart the 12 inch mattress was flattened in less than 14 mins. Last week the 16th i rolled it up and tomorrow will be moving it to the new place. Since the new place is only in the next block i am going to strap it to a 2 wheel dolly and move it. I have taken the video of it and tomorrow will take another shot of teh deflation and then will post it and will let you know. Thanks for your video and was a great help in doing it on my own..
great video Michael! I'm curious to know, before I start this process for myself, did you notice any change to the mattress after this? Like it not getting back to its original form or height? Thanks!
I enjoyed watching your video, it was very entertaining. A few laughs of course and, you're so CUTE! Hope you're settled in Hotlanta...and staying out of trouble...lol.
Hi Egemen! Thanks for the comment, fortunately i didn't run in to any problems along the way, it was a cool trip! I added some videos of the journey on my channel if your interested haha
Hmmm, I don't think it would work with a regular vaccuum. I would think the vacuum would only get to a certain suction point until it can't pull anymore, then overheat trying to maintain it, but I'm not sure, let me know if you try it!
Hi Alex, thanks for watching! Yea it worked great! A lot of work but it all went swimmingly! Would I do it again? Maybe not with that mattress, since then I've sold that mattress and upgraded to a Casper, but yes, I would probably do it again with the Casper if I needed to haha
Hi MarksParks! I had to fit alot in the car so unpacking took a while, but once I got the matress in the house it was just as easy as when i bought it new! Success!
Hi Heydon! The bag was a generic bag from home depot (not sure if you have those in the UK) but it looks like the brand was Pratt Retail Specialties. Hmmm, that's a good question, if you would rather have the extra space, yes, I'd probably sell it and get a new one. But if you have the space on your trip it's not sooo inconvenient that I wouldn't do it again.
Probably would have been a easier that way but I was meeting a friend halfway through the drive and needed to keep the passenger seat open! Thanks for the comment!
Lay the passenger seat flat? How on earth would you do that? Most cars I know of you can't lay the front seats flat. He probably could have put the back seats flat and put it in from the trunk though.
