hullooooooooooo. sorry ive been a little absent! my schedule(if it can even be called that)got knocked out of wack because of halloween repaints. but anywayyyyy im back with a faun / satyr doll repaint for yall today!

tiny brushes:
-princeton velvettouch round 20/0(my fav)
-wargamer "the psycho" army painter brush (its actually called the psycho, this ones quite good. its not as stiff as the one above so i find i have a little less control but its still a nice brush for details)
-arteje 100/0 camlon micro paint brush( this ones quite a bit stiffer than the other two but its a super tiny brush. its a bit hard to control but probably the finest brush i have)
I use a liquid brush shaper i got from blick awhile ago with all these brushes. this has really helped me with their longevity and keeping their shape which is kind of difficult with really fine brushes.

Thanks for mentioning our work! I feel like this girl and our Raphelia could be besties and start Foresty Redhead Faun Union (work in progres name) 😅 She turned out absolutely gorgeous! The hair looks pretty, that face up is super adorable and that green scarf (I'm sucker for everything green) and the accesoriess completes the look perfectly! I love her!

@@ichigokeebs I watch ALOT of different doll repainters and customizers on here, and most use a pet hair brush for the yarn! I've tested it myself, it is a decent arm workout but the "hair" comes out so pretty! Edit spelling

I was just rewatching some older repaints and just want to say how much I appreciate the veins on your dolls! (12:10) I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, and it makes my skin translucent, so my veins are much more visible compared to "typical" folks! Having skin differences represented in small ways feels empowering and inclusive, thank you for celebrating things that are often treated as flaws! 💖🦓

Faun’s and satyr’s are the same creatures, the difference is one is from Greek mythology and the other is from Roman mythology.

I swear I'm not trying to be rude or snobby, but I do know of a few differences. One mythology says that they are all male and lustful; the other says that they are mixed gender and have other traits.

Hi, yes you are correct, but as with nearly the all early Roman gods, goddesses, myths and mythical creatures, the are based on the Greek version and changed to sute the Roman morals and ethics.

Technically they aren't. Fauns are half goat while satyrs are actually more horse-like.

I've learned from drawing that the key to not getting a cross-eyed look is to also make sure the eyes are pointed up at least a little

As beautiful and delicate as your vein work is, I feel its worth mentioning that generally speaking, the more pigment is in skin (so the darker the skin), the less obvious veins become. It only really occurred to me here since Isi has a human skintone, I have no idea what the rules would be for some of the crazier colours would be ^^;

I am LOVING this process! You are so fun to watch! WOW the wefts you must have made girl! I really like the eyebrows. Lol “I’m uncomfortable” you said XD I like horns on the brow ridge so it doesn’t bother me. She’s so so pretty! Fun fact! Your favorite wooden tool is called a “sculptors knife/sculptors thumb” depending on which end you are using. It’s heavily used in ceramics. I’m super happy to see you using it in this application. Super smart! I agree, I love the natural wave yarn makes! I love the overall warm pallet in this doll! Your faceup, as usual, is AMAZING! Xxxx

OH MY GOD, the wefts were never ending!! i was like this is just me now, i am one with the wefts hahaha. agh im happy the brows dont bother ya. i was thinking for a second making her with no brows but i didnt think it fit her whole aesthetic. oooo good to know about the sculpting tool haha. its helped me so much with my apoxy sculpt journey lol thank ya!!

@@jackyohhhxo *Oh, I would if I could.* Unfortunately, I broke my wrists and they required surgery. So, now I have metal plates and screws to keep my bones attached. Arthritis has set in which is quite painful. _I do work with plastic canvas and yarn to keep my hands and fingers as nimble as possible._ In the meantime I'll just watch you (I'm a subscriber) work your magic❣🥰

On the subject of the eyebrows, and how they're close to the horns...have you thought about extending the OTHER end of the brow, and making a "unibrow" effect? You could even do a bit of flocking to reinforce the faun effect.

Congrats on the purple eyes! I love this doll! I seriously love all the accessories and detail you added. I love adding loads of accessories in my pictures as well. It’s so pretty! I also love how you put veins on your dolls! I was a little thrown off at first but it’s so pretty and I want to see more people do this. It’s inspired me to try and draw veins. Now on the subject of the eyebrows, I can totally understand where your coming from but it honestly doesn’t look bad. The fact the horns are so big and the forehead make it more cute to me. Btw I could see the freckles. It’s faint but it’s cute that way. This is my favorite doll you’ve done so far!!! 💕

As far as I can tell, the only difference between fauns and satyrs is the fact that fauns are Roman and satyrs are Greek.

The difference between a faun and satyr. Is fauns are Roman mythology and the ones you’d want at a wedding. Satyrs come from Greek mythology, and are the ones you’d see at a 25th birthday party. That’s the cleanest way I can put that for younger people who may be watching tis-.

I know that you probably won't see this but just previously I was having a really bad anxiety attack since I have an anxiety disorder and it just happens for literally no reason, so I just went on my phone and tried to find something that could distract me and as soon as I clicked on your video and started watching after a bit your personality is so bubbly and your voice reminds me a lot of my mom so it was comforting in a way basically just watching this video made me feel so much better and I just want to thank you for that :)

I think she is AWESOME! I would have probably thrown even more details at her because I love this doll so much! Ici is currently the only MH I have but just today I purchased an old one (the cheapest one I could find with most of the parts) to do my first repaint because I collect deer and reindeer. I have done faceups on resin animal dolls so I decided it was finally time to attempt my first repaint! This was an inspiring video - thank you for sharing!!!

Amazing work and cool fact/quick tip:if you actually hold your breath, just don't, exhale just before you paint it, if you hold your heart will actually accelerate and you will get shaky hands 😉 I love that doll, it looks so cute 😍

I freaking love that hair color and I kinda used something similar on one of my dolls since it was a left over bit of yarn that i combined with some golden colored yarn too. I seem to prefer wavy or natural yarn texture hair over the straight so I really love her hair!!!

ooo gold and red sound so pretty!! i enjoy the natural texture as well but alot of my yarn doesnt wave like this one. i think because its chunkier? its just alot straighter than this yarn. thank ya!!

@@jackyohhhxo what I do is I dont use a brush to get the texture but unwind the yarn which can give me a really long hairdo depending on length of yarn which love!!!

Happy New Year Jacky!🥳 I love this repaint she's so beautiful, another amazing face up. 😍Her brows look good both ways. Your hours of misery( gluing her fur) paid off because it looks amazing, that yarn is beautiful. You cant even tell she has a different arm. So I have freckles and I am still learning to love them, so every time someone put freckles on art (correctly of course, not the lazy 10 freckle thing) it helps. I found it wild that people like freckles enough to intentionally put it in their art, so it is helping me like mine with the exposure to it. Overall, I appreciate the freckles even if you think they were too light, that's what they look like as you get older/use more sunscreen

Hey :) Apoxie Sculpt is unavailable in my country and it is too expensive for me to import it, so I did a little improvising. I did some body modifications on a Lagoona doll using cold porcelain. It is a glue-based clay, so water isn’t so welcome, but I think a little bit of matte varnish will protect it. I also don’t know about the vinyl head (in case you want to make some mods to her sculpt). Hope I helped a bit :)

@@auroradreycon8040 you can make at home! Lol All you need is white PVA glue, cornstarch, a bit of lime/lemon juice an baby oil. You can find many recipes out there, I prefer those who are made in the microwave!

thank ya! oh nooo, i know theres alternatives to apoxy sculpt. like i think miliput is an alternative and i believe citadel has a product called green stuff thats also an alternative. theres probably more but those are the only two that come to mind at the moment. maybe those are available in your country?

She is actually a satyr so you are right. The definition of Satyr is basically a goat man, but even so it can pertain to women as well. So satyr can be male and female regardless of what others think

I used to have the original doll with blue hair. I got her brand new and I kept all her clothes and kept her in great condition and I LOVED her. Then she got thrown out :(
