THANK YOU! I am so sick of people saying it's OK to use spray primer on soft plastic. I have done my own extensive testing. Spray primer on hard plastic. Acrylic polyurethane on soft plastic. I just don't understand why people keep on insisting to go with Spray primer regardless of the material!

Remember that what kind of advice people give on a subject is based on their experience; so they've been very lucky this whole time that they haven't had any problems with rattle can primer over soft plastic. Eventually they'll have one or more bad experiences and gradually opinion will shift.

I love your techniques. It's hard to get a random pattern that you can control. That splatter nozzle looks super useful.

I have been painting for many years, I have used dry pigments a lot and it never occurred to me that you can mix water and then spray water to wipe away and show some of the paint underneath. It seams so simple but never thought of it. Thanks for a great tip!

Now you need to do a separate video to stick the feathers on! Seriously though, fantastic paintwork. I thought it was impressive out of the box, but the fact that it's now unique and an even better quality finish is incredible to watch.

What a super video! Love the attention to detail. The final scene is fantastic. It's certainly inspiring me to have a go myself. I'm primarily a 1/12 dolls house person but I'd like to try my hand at doing something like this. But I'm going to have to invest in some decent kit first. I normally just attack things with a bread knife. 😄

Thank you. I use 2 airbrushes, Harder & Steenbeck Evolution and an Infinity CR Plus. The Infinity is better all round though. Cheers.

Thanks! I found it in a small shop ( Netherlands ), but i don't think they ship international. Look for 'Desktop Models 1:35 Stegosaurus Favorite Co.' i have seen them on Ebay aswell. Good luck!

Nice job! But there's one thing I didn't get: Why did you initially paint its feet nails grey? After painting its feet, you couldn't see the paint of the nails anymore.

Hello, new to the hobby and of course new subscriber! I am following as much as I can your video, using and old Lindberg JP Trex I had from the 90's. I am up to the point were you apply satin varnish. My question is why is the wash required (never applied one so far)? Sorry, but I can't exactly tell from the before and after. Also I don't seem to find the Transparent Umber ink in my countr...any other alternatives? Thanks a lot for your videos!

Hi there! Happy to hear you enjoy the hobby, those Lindberg models are really nostalgic and cool. Washes are most effective if the model has a lot of deep recesses, this T-rex model was pretty smooth so it didn't stick very well. It more or less darkens the model as a filter otherwise. As an alternative you could always use an acrylic dark brown wash like the ones from Games Workshop, or use another brand of ink ( I'd recommend Schmincke or Daler Rowney FW ) Have fun and cheers for watching!

Never heard of those spatter cap before, very useful. I only found some for H&S, are there some generic ones which can fit on some no name airbushes or does this one fit all comon airbrushes?

Hi, good question I don't really know I only have H&S airbrushes, and haven't seen many people using splatter caps either. They do clog easy though so a bit of drying retarder in your paints is useful. Usually airbrush caps need to fit perfectly for them to work, I don't know if there are universal fitting caps on the market I'd be interested to know that too. Cheers.
