Thanks for the useful video. Weather permitting I am doing mine tomorrow on my W203 C55. Everybody that likes this video should donate a small amount though towards buying you a proper socket set and torx drivers :) I bet your garage doesn’t have much in LOL !!
Cheaper fix is to replace batteries in siren. Cut open with hack saw and solder batteries in glue back together wrap seam with electric tape for water proofing . Fixed , great video , thanks
Now this brings back memories of my teenage years, used to always listen to milk inc and a lot of other dance music. Still brilliant tunes even now. Plus I got to see how to fix the alarm siren :)
Thanks a lot, yours is one of the most well explained and easy videos to follow here, congratulaciones! To bad you dont have the right tools becas your very good and clear. Congratulations from México City.
Nice job Mike, thanks! One suggestion, I would have a Torx sizeT-40 security bit available to remove the bolt attaching the siren to the bracket. I'm amazed you were able to get that off with a channel lock.
Another cause of random alarm/lights flashing is when the driver's seat belt buckle is shut in the door breaking the door switch mount. When the car heats up/ cools down the metal expands/contracts causing the switch to lose contact. The alarm system senses this and interprets it as an intrusion. Simple fix, order new switch online for $10 remove inside trim, install new switch. ( Pops right in) Reinstall trim.
could also be the computer that controls the wipers, alarm stuff like that .its in the back of the trunk hidden in the side wall. forgot what that part is called but it's expensive. mine was covered under warranty because my alarm stopped beeping when I set the alarm.
Loved the video and I danced the whole time I watched it. .I love dance music and car stuff. My question I own Chrysler Crossfire basically a (( Mercedes CLK )) my siren does not work either . I had hear that the siren is under the cowl vent at back of the hood (( bonnette )) . do you know where it could be in my car since it is Mercedes thanks for help
I disconnected the alarm siren unit i and didnt place a new unit in. Remote control still didnt work... Then disconnected the tow alarmunit in the trunk. Remote works! This worked for me. Dont buy 2nd hand alarmsiren units because 2nd hand units will break down eventually due to corrosion of the batteries.
I also have the flashing light problem with my 2004 c class w203 when the car is locked. It happens occasionally and I have to unlock and then relock the car to make it stop. Will replacing the alarm sirene horn solve the problem? Thanks for your video.
It is a great video, but needs the year and model numbers for the Mercedes, because after all of this work there is no alarm siren on the right side of my car on either side of the tire. Is this video for American or Foreign Mercedes, because on a 2000 c230 Mercedes with the steering wheel on the left side of the car the alarm is under the front part of the wheel well between the tire and the front bumper.
Hello! There is the same problem with the siren, the batteries have leaked. From the analysis I took the siren by the number matches. I put it to myself, I turn on the Panic, only the fog lights are flashing, but there is no sound. I thought the fact is that the purchased siren does not work, I threw a chip on the same car, everything works. I throw it on my car does not work, the power comes to my chip. Please tell me what could be the matter?! Pre-checked by a worker in the rear sambek, the car opens and closes.
My w208 randomly started alarm issue, i took out no5 fuse to do with the alarm to stop it going off, I can’t find why this fault started, could it be the same problem as this video.
I think this is going on with my 2002 ml320 Everytime I look the door with my key fob lights blink 3xs and the siren goes off. I have to press the towing alarm off button Everytime. it also drains my battery I did a battery/ charging system test and that was fine
Hello.. this is a great video. I found two spare used sirens and still not "noise" when activited. How can I know that the problem IS the SIREN or is the cables?? or the fuse?? My fear is to buy a NEW siren (expensive) and to find that the problem was not the siren, but the cable. Cn someone provide some help? How I can be sure the problem is the siren ( probably the ones I got used are not usable) , but what about if the problem is the fuse or cable??
Lock yourself in the car using the remote when set open door if siren goes off it is working replaced mine and no bleep when locking but goes off when door opened or when car jacked up .
I know this is old but if your number 8 fuse blow take the whole siren out just turn wheels and take 2 plastic nuts out and move the plastic cover and you see the siren
The ending says "Holland"????? No way just no way. By the way you work i was expecting you to be russian or ukranian. The dutch are so organized that it never crossed my mind that you could be from Holland or Germany
This will help me because I need to disconnect the siren. Something went wrong with the ignition system and the fob key won't turn the switch. For a while the buttons on the fob worked but then my 'son-in-law' disconnected the battery and now the buttons quit working and every time I open a door, hood or trunk, the alarm goes off. I've pulled fuses associated with the anti-theft system but that didn't help. It still goes off. What a nightmare! If I ever get this problem solved, the Benz is getting sold. I can't deal with this crap anymore. This is insane. It's costing me $250 (if it's just a new fob) or $1,000 if the switch is bad. Plus towing to the nearest MB dealership one hour away in Chattanooga, TN. I'm done with Mercedes.
Guys help my car fuse number 8 in boot is good alarm comes on.. central locking still not working..i also dont get good radio signal . What could be the fault ..
