I bought my "super heavy duty" 12v/24v jumper pack just a couple years ago for almost $600 - and it failed!!! I thought it was dead batteries - NOPE. It was a de-laminated powerboard. I called Schumacher Electric and they unapologetically told me it was obsolete and that no parts are available and there never would be. After exploring every angle to get this repaired or replaced, they rushed me off the phone and said "im sorry sir, there is nothing we can do." I called their technical support manager and left him a long message - NO RETURN CALL. So, I found a great company in Canada called ACRC Tools - they had the parts I need in stock. Join me on this video as I repair this expensive, "obsolete" jumper pack.
If Schumacher wants to contact me and do the right thing for a longtime customer, I will gladly update my review to reflect the service I receive!

Hey Josh, good to see you back! After working with circuit boards and circuits for 30+ years, I would say that the board itself looked like typical through-hole construction and not really all that bad. There are many things that could cause the trace to separate like it did. Most likely the chemical process when the board was made was not up to snuff 100% (contaminants, weak chemicals, etc.). Environmental issues could also contribute to the problem. Battery acid is nasty stuff and the fumes alone could eat through a circuit board. I do understand that the batteries were sealed but maybe still leaked a tiny bit. It could probably be repaired by running a wire as you mentioned between the connecting points but you would need to make sure that the repair could handle whatever the amperage was flowing through that part of the circuit. It shouldn't have happened and Schumacher should have offered to repair it or similar, but the design looked OK (at least from out here in you tube land). Thanks for the video. I look forward to more! -mike

Thanks for that great message. I appreciate all of the industry knowledge. I'm pretty frustrated with the fact that a big successful company that made a lot of money on a lot of people including me, refuses to support this product. And I do agree that at least gas emissions from the batteries could have caused the separation. In any case, it should have been engineered to fit the purpose, and they should have built it to more resilient standards. Maybe you and I should develop our own product :-)

Hi Josh, I'm flattered by the offer (if it was a serious one) but I'm at a place in my life where I'm holding onto what I have and not taking risks like I would have in my younger days. I looked for a way to send a PM to give more details but couldn't find it. I'd be glad to offer advice though, if you wanted any. Thanks, -mike

I charge mine through the cables using a Black and Decker 15amp conditioning charger. Mine is about 6 or 7 years old, no idea really, but I've owned at least 5. Turn on to 12v and hook up to ANY charger. It gets down to 40% and will still start my 7.3 Ford Diesel with no troubles at all.

So what all was it doing? Trying to figure out if this is the same problem that mine is having. Can't charge it up and when I turn it on the alarm starts ringing. Shows 44% and voltage shows 5.5

Amazing, and you may have just saved me tons! Question, there appears to be three different boards for this; a 7-PIN (2299002336), 10-PIN (2299002668), and 12-PIN (2299002707). How do we know which we need? I only see the 2299002336 listed on their site of the three. Any info on which have 7, 10, or 12-PIN?

Schumacher used to be great, then they turned into a "Global" corporation, which means they produce junk made in china. I have this unit, too. Other than receiving it with one weak 12V battery, it's been good since I replaced one of the batteries. I also have the 2212 unit, which as been good, so far. Thanks for the video; it might come in handy some day.

Looks like I paid the perfict price for mine... free. Just missing the charging cable... can't find a replacement. Anyway, can you please give me the output values of the two working prongs? I'm considering making a replacement cable.

Schumacher is a garbage company. The series of starter you have is actually quite good. The new lithium ones are crap.
