VRM Regulator is a multiphase buck converter. We should select the proper MOSFET, otherwise it will again damage because OEM will configure it's deadtime and gate resistances to maintain optimal losses. If we change the MOSFET without knowing the parameter( gate charge, Rdson,Maximum Drain current) It will have a significant impact on the losses and in the worst case the deadtime will not be sufficient and it will have cross conduction and MOSFET will break.
