Hey everyone, today Jason is repairing the cracked Harley-Davidson frame on the 1980 FLHS. The cast portion of the frame has cracked all the way around where the transmission cross tube is welded in. Jason starts by grooving out the damaged area in preparation for welding. Using a tig welder he is able to repair the damaged area. Going one step further, fish plates are made from 1/8" plate steel and welded onto the cast area of both sides on the frame to prevent any future issues. Finishing the job at hand a needle scaler is used to give the fish plates a casted metal appearance.
