I cut the X; then the square sheet; then place the square sheet inside of the X; then spray the adhesive between both the square patch and X triangles; let 4 minutes pass and all ✅ done. The glued X lets me know exactly where I cut and it’s sealed. Great job either way!!
I love this way the best of all that i seen out there so far. My mobile home people under warrantee says that the approved methods of repair is cut a long straight line then to seal it use Gorilla Tape. I was like what!?!? Yah that is coming from the tru-home manufacturing company over them all in the USA. You should teach them how to patch up a hole. Love your way and it seals completely. Thanks. Now i can show them the correct way how to seal the hole up. ;)
Duct tape worked waaay better on my old single wide- as that patch w/ spray glue fell out in 12 hours. I do not have a pristinely clean belly board- but I did try to clean it & I did follow instructions- I paid $50 for a roll of peel & stick patch too, tried using the spray glue with as well. Yeah- good ole duct tape- I checked a week later and the duct tape has stayed. (so far) This type patch was used by by a repairman on my new Mobile but they closed it all up before I saw it and I have not built an access door or opened it up to see as yet. Not diggin living in a mobile home bc of all the maintenance issues, no sound barrier thru out, cannot even walk without echoing. But it is what it is, gotta live somewhere. Thankful for housing in this INSANE craziness of 2024.
I don't dare fix broken water lines or attempt to patch anything under my mobile unless I'm dressed up looking like I'm about to give a car a new paint job. Gloves, facemask,double layers of clothing. Too many spiders under the damn house!

easy to do when you have a foot above your head and standing on two feet. Lets see someone do this on your back , in the dirt bed, with spiders all over the place in 100 degree weather...this is not realistic
And probably breathing in however that stuff smells. Then stuffing the insulation lol at that. Sometimes you have no way to view but up and move but a few inches.
+SILVER COLLECTING2015 Yeah that is how I have to roll literally laying on my back or having to army crawl like I am avoiding overhead bullets on dirt. Thankfully most of the spiders are the spider crickets freaky, but harmless. I don't mind the heat as much as the cold. It is really a chore to use plumbing crimps with limited space. I usually end up pulling or straining something in my back, shoulders, etc...
And the 6' rattlesnake that I spotted when the dogs went off, but never killed... he's probably still under there waiting for me to come under there to feed him, plus we have bark scorpions, black widows that blend in oh so well with that black plastic crap... and don't forget all the rat poo and the stickers they add to the insulation, all falling in your face. And try to wash the dirt off the plastic while lying on your back and having the water drip into your face so you can wait half an hour for the plastic to dry before adding the fancy spray on glue which will also spray into your face at such a close distance. Been there done that.... no freakin' t-shirt.
I got a outdoor sprayer that is used to keep mosquitos away. I'm gonna put some insectide in it and let it just spray all under the trailer and whatever is under there Wil either die or get out. Bad idea? Probably but I'm not gonna take a chance. Especially with snakes and black widows. Hell naw
I recently bought a Worx 18 gauge brad nail and staple gun. What I couldn't staple I used the tough and wide Gorilla tape from Lowe's. It holds better than just duct tape. I also used the mineral wool insulation where the fiberglass insulation had fallen down. Mineral wool resists mold and water. There are a number of videos on RU-vid to get ideas. I used old dog food bags because it is the same material. It made a major difference in the comfort of the floor.
Umm what Happens if You Dont have the black plastic thing anymore and there is Just a Big old hole in the under belly ?? I have a old Mobil home and its had water line issues in the past and it has made a lot of holes that have been patched but all the black lining is missing in those spots ??
It's like all the wires, pipes and ductwork under a house when you're in your basement. A mobile home doesn't have a basement. If you have land you can put a mobile home on a basement. Anyway, you have to be able to access those areas when things go wrong.

wow, hey, what about the insulation just being baggy. on a mobile home i bought it's saggy all over. if i open it to do some repair/replacing of insulation a rat got into, do i need to put new insulation between the joists or just like let it be baggy on the underbelly ???
@@ajackson1229 I ripped a lot of mine out. rats were in there. the joists were in great shape so I just installed new insulation, meanwhile going around the pipes. THe point of the "belly" is to make the vapor barrier and insulation go below the pipes so that the heat from inside the house will keep the pipes from freezing.
Ive had my water heator empty it self when i crawled under house no water not even a dropthe water is stuck in membrane its hanging way low tomorrow morning im going to cut it open and your x cut is perfct
Bless you! I've been ripped off many times by unscrupulous repair companies. It really helps to be informed BEFORE the repairman comes out. I'll definitely be ordering this kit. HOWEVER....Where were your gloves, safety glasses, and respirator? The insulation, the environment (ie: mouse/rat droppings) and fumes from the spray glue are serious respiratory irritants. If you could include safety information in your videos, that would be a great asset to the uneducated fix-it-yourself person.
Realism would be doing this laying on your back, in a dark dusty area, with about 2 1/2 feet of clearance. Maybe. Would be great if I could raise my home 6 ft into the air to do this kind of work.
Get creative. Theres small car ramps blocks Jack's etc that can increase that space. If ventilation is a concern an industrial fan or a couple of costco tower fans on their sides will help allot.. Safety first. Whatever you use make sure there is a solid support mechanism to prevent movement and if anysupport should fail there should be a solid backup like a couple spare tires with rims underneith. So if anything falls theres still normal body sizes space to stay safe.
It happened to mine and so far trapped 8 mice in the kitchen sink area. I cant believe they use that cheap paper shit and somehow not expect mice not to chew threw it.
@@daveisnothere5005 I've heard that softener sheets for the dryer have a smell mice don't like. I've also heard the tale of a mouse nest being built in a dryer sheet box. You could try peppermint oil on cotton balls.
Yeah, that promise raised my eyebrows too! I haven't had any rodents in mine yet, but I attribute that more to luck than to some kind of miraculously mouse-proof plastic sheeting.
Yes that cover looked like garbage. The fluff was just hanging on it lmao. What kind of repair was that? The glue seemed pretty useful. But overall this seems like a job just waiting to go bad.
