Watching your videos has opened my eyes on how bad the nail salon I've been going to is! I had never had my nails done professionally before and recently started going to a nail salon that got decent reviews online. The first time I went there to get my acrylic nails removed all they did was use nail clippers to cut the length (which split the nails all the way down) and then took a nail tip and shoved it underneath the acrylic to pop them off! I complained to the lady that it hurt and she told me "You've never done this before, that's what it hurts." These videos are EYE OPENING and I definitely will not be going back to that salon!!

The first time I got acrylic nails it looked like I had them on at least 2 weeks. I didn't realize that until a few days afterwards and I had been watching Suzie and other professionals doing nails. I 4 days later had them professional and gently taken off. I went with glue ons but decided to try it myself after seeing Suzie's and a few extreme beginners review the kiss diy acrylic kit. In spite of a lot of filing and not quite bump free, that I see, they turned out pretty well.

Oh how right you are! Getting a fill a few yrs ago I had to go quite a bit longer in between fills than normal & the product on my nails was honestly not worth saving (especially since I wear mine really short; athletic short) although all (magically) still full attached. The woman decided she wanted to start from scratch, meaning removing previous acrylic. Instead of soaking or filling down (either would have been more pleasant) she took a large tip & manually lifted the acrylic. It not only shredded my natural nail but hurt so bad! It made the acrylic itself almost burn & any and all filling on the acrylic burnt straight through that it left actual pinkish red marks on my natural nails. Needless to say never went to her again & although the finished product was pretty, my nails were sore for days!! Also, stickler for straight lines, it seems to be a nearly impossible task to find a salon who has a tech who can do a solid square. Tending to favor one side over another making the tip of my square a slant! When I ask most techs to redo them, they huff N' puff @ me! On more than one occasion I've taken their embrion board & filled my nails myself!!
@NailCareerEducation
@NailCareerEducation 8 лет назад
Ugh! I hate to hear of this very IMPROPER removal. I have so many comments that tell about nail techs using a tip to pry off the nail enhancement. This is so wrong! If a tech ever says they are going to do that - don't let them! Walk away! In case you missed it, I have a video about the proper technique for a removal: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-z5ag9IIegfo.html
@nanuq1516
@nanuq1516 7 лет назад
Nail Career Education I'm so sorry it took me so long to respond! I didn't know I had a notification; that area of RU-vid doesn't always work properly for me. Anyways, I have seen it and you're 100% right. I should have said "STOP!" and either requested the proper way or walked out. Yes, she went about it all wrong and like an numbskull I not only let her but paid for it. A mistake I'll never make again. The worse part, most nail salons around me have always removed acrylic w/ the tip of a fake nail. I know they know this is NOT the right way but it's the "easy & fast" way and in the end, it feels like that is all they care about. Like a chain of fast food restaurants, drive thru nail salons... as many customers as possible! Unfortunately I can't afford a top notch salon so if I want my nails done, I have to deal w/ some inadequacy. 💅

Suzie you should have your own chain of nail salons. Is there any way to know if a nail tech is certified by you? Lol, where I live I'm so opposed to having my nails done because they look like flared lump squares. But watching your videos makes me want to get them done. Love you and your awesome work, keep up the lovely videos. ❤️❤️❤️
@NailCareerEducation
@NailCareerEducation 8 лет назад
I must say I have learned thru my YT channel, reaching out to so many people around the world I had no idea it was so hard to find good techs - each tech should have a license ( depending on the regulations where you live) and their license should be displayed - the best way is to ask around,try find a good nail tech by checking out other people's nails. When you see beautiful nails, ask them who did the nails, have they been going to that tech long, do the nails last, do you ever feel pain or get hurt during application/removal? When you find a nail tech with glowing reviews, book with that tech! Remember, a good tech is a busy tech, and you might have to wait a while to get in - but it will be worth it! Then go to the salon and have one nail applied as a sample so you can approve it before you get the other 9 done 😄
@DragonLuver44
@DragonLuver44 8 лет назад
I never thought about getting a sample nail. When I'm given names of places for example hair dressers, dentists or doctors I check my local bbb.org to see if they have a rating. If not I don't go to them.

I've learned so much from you. I always got my nails done at a salon and I quit going because a full set is around $50 here in west Texas. I've come to realized that a lot of nail techs here damaged my nails and were careless how they removed the acrylic or how they filed my nails. It was quite lazy of them and of course I didn't know because I didn't know how to properly apply acrylic nails. I love how you use forms. I never knew you could do that. I'm now doing my own nails and slowly but surely I'll get better at application. No one cares about my natural nails like I do! Thanks for giving me confidence to do my own nails.

@NailCareerEducation
@NailCareerEducation 7 лет назад
Oh - don't cry, it';s OK to buff the natural nail plate, so long as you do it gently, and infrequently. Remember, when I am applying a nail enhancement, I buff only once, and very lightly - and after then only the enhancement is ever buffed. I have a video that has the industries expert scientist discuss this very topic. Check it out: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HYGkyZvzOuQ.html

I absolutely love your videos! I just discovered you yesterday and I've already watched every acrylic video you have. Is there any chance you could give me some product recommendations? I'm trying to stay low budget, but I understand that you get what you pay for. Thank you so much :) Keep making these fantastic videos!

Wow let me just start off by saying you are a GREAT teacher! I have bought myself a whole acrylic nail kit and can I just say Suzie you have been wonderful! I was wondering if you could make a video as if it were my VERY first class of acrylic nails. Thank you so much and rock on!😘
@NailCareerEducation
@NailCareerEducation 9 лет назад
That's awesome Romania- just keep in mind, I highly recommend taking a professional course before you start taking clients. The tips I give including acrylic application, are simply tips- they are not the full course. I'm glad you are having fun- passion is the most important quality to a great tech 😀

I love your videos but I just hate that in the salons every single one I've been to all the nail "techs" are vietnamese and I barely understand them plus they treat your nails like they treat their toilet so careless and they just do your nails as fast as they can so they can kick ya out of the salon and get to the next customer that is just bull s#!# wish I could find a salon were the nail techs were all well spoked English or Spanish and take the time to see that you like your nails 😢😢😢😢😢not like the other ones! 😡😡😡😡😡😡

Consuelo Sandoval Ya - I understand the frustration, i'll be honest though before the so called Asian salons came around I saw alot of bad work and they weren't Asian girls, so I've never gotten the impression it's the Asians fault - it's a result of bad education that's all - it's not the techs fault it's the lack of standards that are letting everyone down. The end user such as the client pays for this problem the most - it's starts with education. Before you go to a salon ask around whose the best - you may pay alittle more - it's corny but true- you get what you pay for. Great comment - you bring up what people need to talk about - thank you :)))))))
