In this video I'm repairing a rusted out exhaust on a 2015 Ford F-150. this exhaust was put on by a local (and supposedly quite reputable shop) at the time I purchased the truck, and as you can see, has badly rusted out. I do not really have much experience with exhaust systems, so if you have any suggestions on things I could do better, please feel free to let me know.
I was wary of welding on the vehicle itself, and had I welded the exhaust system on the truck, I definitely would have disconnected the negative battery cable at the very least. I'm sure there are lots of other ways to do this repair, but this seemed most logical to me with the equipment and materials I had on hand. Also, be ready for a downpour of rust whenever doing anything on an older exhaust. It gets everywhere.
All in all it was a fair bit of effort, but for the cost of some 3" exhaust tubing (at $3 per foot), some high temp spray paint, and supplies I already had, it was extremely cheap, and I'd say it was turned out well. Thanks for watching!
