The amount of technology upgrades to the newer pinball machines today is astounding! If they put free play on this machine it’s called a “free for all”

What does a maintenance and repair like this cost?
@LyonsArcade
@LyonsArcade 3 года назад
I can't remember how much we had to do to this machine but usually it's between $200 and $500 depending on how much we have to do, and it can get higher than that if we end up buying a lot of parts (replacement boards, new artwork, etc.)

mp3 module ... there are these small tiny ADAFRUIT boards www.exp-tech.de/module/audio/8376/adafruit-audio-fx-sound-board-2x2w-amp-wav/ogg-trigger-16mb (there are also w/o amp and with smaller memory) I have one of these in my small EV to have some fun :D It would be possible to store some nice music on it and controll the inputs with relays the relais coil needs to have the flippers voltage, and the vcontacts are connected to GND and one input of the Adafruit Then feeding the audio output to the input of the flipper amp If I can get the star trek flipper (the guy is now some days very busy and from tomorrow I have 5 days in hospital - after that I hope the flipper is still there for me), I am thinking about to add one of these modules. Playing star trek sounds (TOS Soundfiles can be found in the web)
@LyonsArcade
@LyonsArcade 4 года назад
That would be a really cool 'kit' for someone to make if they could design it plug and play, they'd probably sell a ton of them. Best wishes in your hospital stay!

@Walter: I have still not add another sound module to it. I just added "chimes" to it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iW0GKJDaciU.html And still this is very basic, grabbed the coil's transistors. As the communication to the sound board is not that simple, as I thought (it is controlled by 4 wires) and the MPU sends, (kind like to a real chime unit) on the 4 wires the sound pitch to be played on the sound board, I still have not a solution to read out the sound command, and shift it to a sound to be played. This will be more complicated, we will see. If we would "record" played sounds (how the 4 wires have signals), put this in a table, and if a known sound was played, that is found in the table, it will be too late to play an alternative sound in the game...

Regarding the pitch of the chimes …… maybe it’s so you can tune them to the 1,3,5 of the major scale. 1,3,5 = the formula for a major chord. So, in the key of C the notes would be C, E, G. …Then, when the chimes play their patterns, they will sound in tune, and in tune with each other. ….. just a thought Ronnie, but maybe that’s why you can change the pitch of the sounds.

15:25 it should be pretty easy to wire up a $10 logic board with GPIO pins into the game and add some logic for sounds it plays after a set of targets or when completing a mode. most of the effort would be to decide what to play and when. RPi with 14 digital pins would be easiest to program but Arduino Uno besides having 22 pins starts up immediately w/o having to boot an OS ..could also add SPI multiplexer chips for more pins
@modeljetjuggernaut4864
@modeljetjuggernaut4864 10 месяцев назад
Coin slot would activate beginning riffs to either 'cat scratch fever' (of course) or 'snakeskin cowboys' when ball is in play, guitar licks to 'lady luck' .. a bonus when lit would activate the quick staccato riffs to 'call of the wild'... a kickout hole would do 'great white buffalo' guitar lick, and a ball drain would activate the pyrotechnic break from 'maybelline'..ohh just some ideas 😊
