Repairing a ZX Spectrum+ Reset Switch.

I've since found that now and then the new rubbery insert would turn itself and become squashed down beside the new switch, preventing it from working. This problem seems to be cured by making sure that what was its outward facing protuberance (oo-er!) is cut off perfectly flush and the newly created flat surface placed face down against the new switch.

Helló! Could you help me please? I don't know, where is it soldered to on circuit board.

The reset switch should be connected across capacitor C27. Sometimes it is easiest to connect it directly to the capacitor's leads and other times to nearby points on the circuit board to achieve the same thing. Some continuity testing will be in order to discover appropriate connection points. Given the way I usually mount radial leaded capacitors (see other video about this), I usually connect one side of the switch directly to the negative lead of the capacitor and the other to a via just above the capacitor that is connected to the positive side. The issue 6 Spectrum has purpose designed connection points for the reset switch.

This button is only for resetting the pc or to switching on too?

Thank you so much, it was a fast answer. I soldered it, will be good, thanks. I have one more problem. If I powered on, than I get black screen. You can watch it on this link: www.csongorfekete.com/download/ZX_SpectrumPLUS_black_LCDTV_signal_LoRes.jpg I have made the RF Cable and I found the signal on 586Mhz. Have you any idea, what need I replace or repair?

It's a bit difficult to tell what's going on with that poor quality picture. It could be that the TV isn't or can't be properly tuned to the Spectrum's output or the RF modulator in the Spectrum might be failing. I suggest tapping off the composite signal before the modulator to get a better picture. You should be able to find information about doing this at a number of sites, including the forums at www.worldofspectrum.org . Through the fuzziness, I can see the central area of the display has character width vertical black and white stripes. There could be many causes. It doesn't look quite like the result of a typical lower RAM fault (very common), but I can't tell with that poor picture. Try the tests described in ZX Spectrum (48K & 16K) Initial Tests . What results do you get?
